Did Lindsay Clancy's Trial Break Something In People? Aug 20, 2026
    Show notes

Comment sections across every platform covering the Lindsay Clancy trial contain people describing the same thing. They can't sleep. Their hands shake when they read the updates. They're posting at two in the morning with genuine fury about a family in Duxbury, Massachusetts, they have never met.

Both sides in the trial agree Lindsay killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Her defense attorney conceded it. The prosecution built its case around it. The only question before the jury is criminal responsibility. None of that has stopped TikTok creators from accusing Patrick Clancy of being the real killer, comparing him to Chris Watts, and building theories around body temperature data and Apple Watch readings that have been addressed in testimony.

Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott has spent thirty years studying what happens when a brain encounters information it can't accept. She joins Tony Brueski to explain why the people in those comment sections aren't performing β€” their bodies are responding to this trial the way they'd respond to a genuine threat. She covers the difference between analysis and fortress-building, why evidence makes the conspiracy stronger instead of weaker, and what it means when a case refuses to give you a villain.

This is Part 1 of three conversations with Shavaun on the psychology of the culture war over Lindsay Clancy.

Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, author of Nightbird, discuss why the Lindsay Clancy trial is producing a measurable psychological response in the people watching.

A Jury Watched Fernandez Talk About Bridegan Like He Was Nobody Aug 20, 2026
    Show notes

The jury in the Jared Bridegan murder trial watched a fifty-minute police interview with Mario Fernandez Saldana on Tuesday. He called the murdered father a keyboard warrior and speculated about the killing like a man discussing a stranger's misfortune.

The interview was recorded before Fernandez became a suspect. He sat in a chair wearing an orange shirt and talked about Bridegan with casual contempt, the kind that only makes sense if he believed nobody would ever connect him to what happened on that Jacksonville Beach road.

Day 2 in the Duval County courtroom opened with physical evidence from the murder scene. Crime scene detective Shane Jarman played his walkthrough video showing a tire placed in the road to force Bridegan out of his vehicle, shell casings on the pavement, and his body next to his SUV. DNA collected from that tire matched Henry Tenon.

Surveillance footage tracked a blue Ford F-150 through Jacksonville Beach to the exact stretch where Bridegan was killed on February 16, 2022. Twenty seconds separated the truck and Bridegan's SUV in the same camera frame. Eight minutes after the shooting, the truck backed into a dead-end and a figure climbed out on foot.

Defense attorney Jesse Dreicer drove a thirty-two-minute gap in the surveillance where no camera captured the truck. Lead detective Chris Johns answered with a gait comparison matching Tenon's walk to the figure on the murder scene footage.

Business check stubs inside the F-150 showed ten thousand dollars paid to Tenon six weeks after the killing. The memo lines read landscaping, roof upkeep, and Kickstarter Good Luck. The money came from a company funded through the Gardner family trust, the same trust prosecutors say was the motive for murder.

Tenon has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is expected to testify later in the trial.

Did Fourteen Days Of Prosecution Help Lindsay Clancy? Aug 20, 2026
    Show notes

The prosecution called more than seventy witnesses over fourteen days in the Lindsay Clancy trial at Plymouth Superior Court. The defense called three the same afternoon the prosecution rested. And on TikTok, a completely different trial is running. Tony Brueski and retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke break down all of it.The prosecution's case began with Patrick Clancy describing Lindsay's best day and ended with a digital forensics expert mapping her Apple Watch data. In between, medical providers admitted they never coordinated care, a 911 call stopped the courtroom, and the defense stipulated to the act β€” putting everything on Lindsay's mental state. The defense started with Lindsay's mother testifying that her daughter said the medications were destroying her mind. The psychiatric experts are coming next. The jury has to decide whether the providers who treated Lindsay missed postpartum psychosis or whether it was never there. The TikTok trial runs parallel. Creators are comparing Patrick's new wife to Lindsay, building a pushed-from-the-window theory from blood stain testimony, and reinterpreting a command hallucination as Patrick's voice. Dreeke examines all three threads and reads where the jury is after absorbing everything the prosecution put in front of them.

Why Tupac Shakur's Family Walked Out of the Courtroom Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

Some of Tupac Shakur's family members walked out of the Clark County courtroom on Tuesday before autopsy photographs appeared on screen. His cousin Zayd Akinyela stayed in his seat and watched photographs of a body that had been dead for six days when they were taken.

Day 2 of the Duane "Keffe D" Davis murder trial put the physical record of Shakur's death in front of a jury for the first time since 1996. The prosecution called six witnesses. None were present at the shooting.

Clark County medical examiner Dr. Lisa Gavin described three bullet wounds from Polaroid photographs taken during the original autopsy in September 1996. One round collapsed a lung. Shakur survived six days in a hospital before dying at twenty-five years old. The examiner who performed the original autopsy has since died.

An MGM investigator authenticated casino surveillance footage from the night of a Mike Tyson heavyweight fight that ended in a ninety-second knockout. The footage survived on VHS tape because nobody bothered to erase it. It showed Shakur and Death Row Records associates attacking Davis's nephew Orlando Anderson in the casino lobby. Two and a half hours later, Shakur was shot four times from a white Cadillac on Flamingo Road.

Former sergeant Kenneth Rios testified he made contact with Anderson after the beating. Anderson declined to press charges. No report was ever filed. Anderson later became the primary suspect in the murder and was killed in Compton in 1998. He was never charged.

No murder weapon has been recovered in thirty years. The white Cadillac has never been found. All three other men believed to have been in the Cadillac are dead.

The trial resumes Wednesday with additional prosecution witnesses.

Is TikTok Putting Patrick Clancy On Trial? Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

The Lindsay Clancy murder trial is being livestreamed. By the time each witness finishes testifying at Plymouth Superior Court, TikTok has clipped the footage and built a conspiracy theory from it. Tony Brueski and retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke examine the obsession with Patrick Clancy.Creators are comparing photos of Patrick's new wife, Rachel Danis, to Lindsay. They took a blood stain expert's testimony and constructed a scene where Patrick pushed Lindsay from the window. They reinterpreted the command hallucination Lindsay described β€” a man's voice β€” as Patrick on the phone. The prosecution argues Lindsay planned the killings and sent Patrick to the store. The defense argues she was psychotic. Both legal teams agree on one thing: Patrick wasn't involved. The theory has no support from any professional who has examined the evidence firsthand.Dreeke reads the claims, breaks down how a theory grows when the evidence contradicts it, and examines what happens to a man who lost three children and became one of the most accused people on the internet.

Why a Defense Witness Visited Lindsay Clancy Forty-Five Times Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

The defense in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial called its first four witnesses on Tuesday in Plymouth Superior Court. After the prosecution rested with seventy-two witnesses across fourteen days, the defense began building its insanity case in a single afternoon.

Lindsay Clancy is charged with three counts of murder for the deaths of her three children on January 24, 2023. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Susan Clancy, Lindsay's mother-in-law and a labor-and-delivery nurse practitioner for thirty-eight years, told the jury Lindsay was a wonderful mother who was begging for help. On cross-examination, the prosecutor revealed that Lindsay told her therapists she was not close with her in-laws and did not generally allow them to watch the children.

Forensic psychiatrist Donald Condie testified that Lindsay went through more than thirteen medication changes in four months after her youngest son was born. He called her medical records somewhat sparse and said one doctor who cleared her for outpatient treatment twenty-three days before the deaths had never treated a single patient with postpartum psychosis.

Psychologist Paul Zeizel has visited Lindsay forty-five times at the hospital where she remains paralyzed from a fall through a second-story window. He testified that Lindsay told her husband Patrick she heard a male voice telling her she had no choice. If the jury believes the voice was real, the insanity defense stands. The prosecution asked whether Zeizel suggested she fabricate the claim.

The prosecutor held up an exercise band in front of the jury to demonstrate the force required in the deaths of the three children.

Court resumes Wednesday with the cross-examination of Paul Zeizel. Over two hundred witnesses are expected before the trial concludes.

Lindsay Clancy Trial: Prosecutors Rip Into Defense Expert Over $300K Paycheck and Missing Details Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the January 24, 2023, deaths of her three children β€” Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months β€” allegedly strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is arguing insanity, pointing to postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.

If Wednesday morning belonged to the defense, the afternoon belonged to the prosecution β€” and they came in swinging at the credibility of Dr. Paul Zeizel, the defense's clinical psychologist. The cross started with his resume, with prosecutors pressing on whether his past evaluations were done for the Commonwealth or for defense teams, then landing on a number designed to stick: roughly $300,000 a year in fees for his consulting work. From there it got more specific. Zeizel testified that when he first met with Clancy, he let her use his phone to call her husband β€” and that when she made that call, she didn't ask about her children. The prosecution also zeroed in on the voices Clancy reportedly heard, which she allegedly described to family, to Patrick, and to a hospital chaplain, but apparently never mentioned to any of her actual treating psychological professionals. And then came the hospital records β€” notes from Tewksbury pulled from the anniversaries that would gut anyone: her kids' birthdays, the date of the killings. Pleasant. Participating in activities. Taking her medication. No self-injurious behavior. Make of that what you will. The prosecution closed by accusing Zeizel of bias, pointedly referring to Clancy as "his patient."

Patrick Clancy was out running errands when it happened and now lives in Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court.

Lindsay Clancy Case: Expert Witness Details the Voices and Thoughts Prosecutors Can't Explain Away Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, 34, continued this week in Plymouth Superior Court, where the Duxbury mother faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the January 24, 2023, deaths of her three children β€” Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months β€” inside the family's Summer Street home. Prosecutors allege she used exercise resistance bands. Clancy has pleaded not guilty, and defense attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing insanity, pointing to severe postpartum psychosis compounded by psychiatric overmedication.

Wednesday belonged to the defense's clinical psychologist, Dr. Paul Zeizel, continuing testimony he began earlier in the week. His account painted a picture of a woman drowning in intrusive thoughts β€” thoughts she believed others could somehow hear, thoughts that convinced her she'd lose her children if anyone found out. She reached out for help twice in December, calling a suicide hotline, and was told she didn't meet the standard for intervention because she didn't have a specific plan. Zeizel's testimony framed intrusive thoughts as relentless β€” not something that fades with a good night's sleep β€” and said that by January, Clancy's had turned toward telling her to end her own life. He also addressed something juries often get wrong about mental illness: that functioning normally on the outside doesn't rule out psychosis on the inside. His testing, he said, ruled out psychopathy entirely, but turned up bipolar disorder with postpartum psychosis, and in his opinion, no awareness at the time that what she was doing was wrong.

Patrick Clancy, her husband, was running errands when it happened and now lives in Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to stretch several weeks.

Can Three Witnesses Save Lindsay Clancy? Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

The prosecution called more than seventy witnesses in the Lindsay Clancy trial at Plymouth Superior Court. The defense called three the same afternoon. Tony Brueski and retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke break down whether those numbers mean what they seem to.Paula Musgrove, Lindsay's mother, told the jury about a daughter who texted her saying something was wrong and kept reaching out for months. Musgrove said Lindsay believed the medications were destroying her mind. Lindsay's sister described a decompensation. A former coworker at Massachusetts General called her a dedicated nurse. The prosecution's psychiatrists testified they never saw psychosis. None had treated postpartum psychosis before. The defense experts coming next will likely tell the jury those providers missed what they weren't trained to find. And the jury has to decide which set of doctors to believe about the same woman's mental state.Dreeke examines what jurors are likely carrying after fourteen days of prosecution evidence, whether emotional testimony can be separated from fact, and whether the verdict hinges on evidence or on fear of what acquittal means.

Did Lindsay Clancy's Prosecutors Help Her Defense? Aug 19, 2026
    Show notes

The prosecution called more than seventy witnesses over fourteen days in the Lindsay Clancy trial at Plymouth Superior Court and then rested. Tony Brueski and retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke break down whether the prosecution built what it intended.Patrick Clancy was the first witness. He described Lindsay's best day and the months of intrusive thoughts, thirteen medications, and a wife whose condition he called confusing. The 911 call shattered the courtroom. The defense stipulated to the act and forced the entire trial onto Lindsay's mental state. Then the prosecution called the doctors. Under cross-examination, each one admitted a version of the same failure. They didn't coordinate. They didn't access each other's records. A psychiatrist who wrote twelve of Lindsay's thirty prescriptions treated her entirely over video and had no idea she'd called a suicide hotline twice.Dreeke reads how each prosecution phase likely registered with the jury β€” the emotional testimony, the forensic timeline, the medical evidence β€” and whether the prosecution's case may have handed the defense its strongest argument on cross-examination.
