    Kevin Coe "The South Hill Rapist" Part 1 Aug 31, 2020

    During the late 1970s and early 1980s, there were a high number of sexual assaults in the South Hill section of Spokane, Washington. The authorities created a task force to catch this predator that the media dubbed "The South Hill Rapist." It would take some time but, eventually, authorities closed in on a man named Kevin Coe, whose father was the managing editor of The Spokane Chronicle. When the true extent of Kevin's crimes came out they were shocking. The authorities believe that he is responsible for more than 50 sexual assaults during a relatively short time period.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Kevin Coe. In this first part of a two part series, we'll explore Kevin's early life and the strange relationship that he had with his mother Ruth. We'll detail out some of the crimes for which he would later be tried and talk about the tactics that the task force used to close in on him.

    The Murder of Julie Love Aug 24, 2020

    On July 11th, 1988, 27-year-old Julie Love was on her way home from a meeting when she disappeared. Her car was found a few days later and police theorized that she had run out of gas and met with foul play. It became a highly publicized missing persons case and the pressure was on the police to solve it. Julie's family did everything they could to find their daughter. They knew she had not run off because she and her boyfriend, Mark Kaplan, had been talking marriage.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Julie Love. Over a year after Julie disappeared, a 34-year-old woman named Janice Weldon came forward to say that her 24-year-old boyfriend, Emmanuel Hammond, and his 18-year-old cousin, Maurice Porter, were responsible for Julie's murder. This was the information that police needed but had been unable to get on their own. There are a number of twists and turns in this case. Race became a huge factor in this case as an attorney and a judge were killed by mail bombs and a white supremacist group took credit for the killings.

    Matthew Macon had a rough childhood and he, along with some of his siblings, were placed into foster care at an early age. Macon developed a pretty extensive juvenile record and spent time at a number of facilities for juvenile offenders. He committed his first sexual assault at the age of 14. He spent much of his adult life incarcerated, but during the times he was out, he murdered 7 women.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Matthew Macon. He wanted people to think his murders were motivated by the need for money. But, his true motives came out in interviews when he said that he enjoyed watching his victim's faces as he exerted his power over them. A man named Claude McCollum was wrong convicted and later exonerated for one of Macon's murders and a home invasion could have prevented 5 of the murders.

    Susan Polk was convicted of murdering her husband of 20 years, respected psychologist, Felix Polk in 2002. Susan claimed that the killing was self-defense but the prosecution argued that she killed Felix for money and custody of her children because of a contentious divorce. The two were married for 20 years and had 3 children together at the time of the murder.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Susan Polk. Everything about this case is the stuff that tabloids thrive off. The pair met when Susan was just a teenager and a patient of Dr. Polk. He later divorced his wife to marry Susan. She would later claim that Felix drugged and raped her as a teenager while she was under his care. Susan's trial was sensationalized by the media as she defended herself and made some outrageous claims, leading many to question her mental health.

    The Lillelid Murders Aug 03, 2020

    In 1997, the Lillelid family was on their way home from a Jehovah's Witness retreat in Johnson City, Tennessee. Vidar, Delphina, and their two children, 6-year-old Tabitha and 2-year-old Peter stopped at a rest area to picnic. That's where they encountered a group of six young people who were travelling, trying to leave their lives in their small Kentucky town behind. When the two groups met, it started a chain of events that ended in murder.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the brutal and senseless murders of the Lillelid family. The group of six from Kentucky were led by an 18-year-old named Natasha Cornett. Natasha had a troubled life and became fascinated with the occult, vampire role-playing games, and the drinking of blood. Many of the others in the group followed her actions. But, how did a chance meeting between this group and a family of four end up in murder? And, who within the group actually fired the shots that killed 3 of the 4 Lillelid family members?

    By 1985, Daniel Remeta was a 27-year-old man who had spent the majority of his life incarcerated. He had been jailed numerous times and had done two different stints in prison. He was facing an arraignment for a destruction of property charge when he decided to skip town with his 18-year-old girlfriend and another friend. What transpired was a multi-state crime spree in which Remeta murdered five people.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Daniel Remeta. He knew he was about ready to go back to prison and that was something he couldn't have. Remeta chose to fund his short time on the run by robbing a number of businesses. The question is why did he choose to kill? Daniel even picked up a hitchhiker while on the run who became embroiled in his crime spree.

    16-year-old James Parker and 17-year-old Robert Tulloch were friends who were bored with life in their small town of Chelsea, VT. They began to scheme and plan on ways to get to Australia. Eventually, those plans turned to crime and evolved into murder.

How did these two kids come to the determination that they were willing to do anything, including committing murder, to escape their small town life? A plan to worm their way into homes, force the homeowners to give up their ATM cards and their pins, led them to encounter Half and Susanne Zantop. The Zantops were beloved professors at Dartmouth and their senseless murders affected many people.

    Joseph Christopher went on a killing spree in 1980 around the Buffalo, New York area that caused the press to dub him the ".22 Caliber Killer." Christopher's murders were racially motivated and he targeted black males. But, he varied his M.O. up so much that police weren't sure how many murderers they were chasing and it caused the media to throw out other names such as the Midtown Slasher and the Huntsman.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Joseph Christopher. What happened during this man's life to cause him to begin targeting black males for death. There is a mental illness aspect to Christopher's story as he was turned away from a medical health facility just weeks before his murder spree began. He has said in interviews that he murdered 13 people in total but many believe the number could be even higher.

    John McRae's committed his first murder when he was only 15. He murdered an 8-year-old boy in his neighborhood. He was convicted of the murder and sent away to prison for life. It was thought that, after 20 years, he was rehabilitated and he was set free. That decision would prove disastrous.

    Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of John McCrae. John went on to commit additional crimes, some for which he was ultimately convicted. He is thought to be responsible for a number of disappearances of young boys in Florida. There are many years where John seemingly committed no crimes. Is that possible for a predator like McRae? Or, was he just able to get away with his crimes and stay off police radar?
