Now he's addicted to it, and the device is starting to break down after nearly two years of constant use, and Garak's life hangs in the balance.

In the wake of the newly realized Borg threat, Starfleet has begun war games to test the strategy and the battle readiness of the crew and the USS Enterprise is front and center.

"Peak Performance" is the last totally original episode in Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation before the 1989 Writers Strike, and it's a fun watch. Sure, this episode has a bunch of issues, but it doesn't take away from how truly fantastic it is, and we'll talk about why!

The Completist Nov 05, 2019

Show notes

There are approximately 750 hours of Star Trek and fans who have seen every episode and movie are typically referred to as "completists."

Until recently, Bill had not been part of that club. He hadn't seen most of Star Trek: Voyager and had a goal of finishing that by the 25th anniversary of the series in 2020.

Just a couple of weeks ago he completed the series, earning him his completist badge and we figured it would be a great time to hear his thoughts on the fourth live action Star Trek series.

Joining us to celebrate the milestone is our good friend John Krikorian from the Trek Profiles podcast--who is also in the midst of trying to finish Voyager for the first time! We'll discuss Bill's reactions to the series and he may even have to answer a lightning round of questions!

This week, we examine the character of Kira Nerys and her journey across the seven seasons of Deep Space Nine. We'll discuss the arc of her character's development and what makes her one of the most important Women of Trek.

This week, we look at the Season 1 episode, "The Andorian Incident" from Star Trek: Enterprise! Airing on Halloween Night 2001, this episode brought back an alien species that we hadn't seen since The Animated Series in the 1970's--and they cast the incredible Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun, DS9) as the perfect foil for Captain Jonathan Archer!

We'll dive in on this episode and talk about why the Vulcans are such jerks, and why this episode is fantastic despite that.

It was the third hour of Star Trek ever produced, and it's considered among the best of The Original Series.

"The Corbomite Manuever" was also the episode that launched Bill's Star Trek fandom in the mid-1970's as the first episode he ever saw.

This week, we'll examine this classic episode of Star Trek and discuss why it still means so much today. Plus, we'll talk about the impact this episode had on us as children and what it means to us today.
