370: Topic | Building a Foundation for Success with Brad Lea, Dan Fleyshman, and Bedros Keulian Jan 01, 2020
    Show notes

Brad Lea, founder and CEO of LightSpeed VT, Dan Fleyshman, youngest founder of a publicly traded company in history, and Bedros Keulian, owner of one of the fastest gym franchises in the world, give advice to help you build a foundation for success. Episode Highlights: Dan Fleyshman People who are mad at the 1% are insane. It’s never been easier to make money – dropshipping, rental properties, etc. The more money you have to work with, it can then replicate and grow. If you upgrade your lifestyle instead of investing, you lose a big investment opportunity. He’s a big proponent of the side hustle and it’s the best time in history to do it. People don’t need as much money anymore to get started. What holds people back from being an entrepreneur? Fear and themselves. Brad Lea "Who" and "what" you know are equally important. If you don’t know the what, it doesn’t matter who you know. If you know everything but you don’t know anybody, then the what you know doesn’t really matter. It’s 50/50 The cliché answer is the “who,” but you need the what. You need to have a pitch, a value proposition, and know your product, otherwise you’re over-valuing relationships. If you already have a good solid “what,” focus on the “who.” Bedros Keulian If you want to move ahead in life you have to “man up” and get out of your comfort zone. Take control of your situation as a human whether you’re woman or a man. Because he hadn’t grown as a leader, his leadership ability became the lid of his success. In 2014 he had a massive anxiety attack that he thought was a heart attack. In 2015 he got a therapist, and he taught him that he was living in anticipation of future pain. He had to man up and have a difficult conversation with his business partner. A therapist will roleplay with you and teach you how to communicate. He had an unhealthy relationship with money, that it was unattainable. For affluent people, money is a means to impact. The number one thing that people can do to change perspective is to get a mentor who is already leading the life that they want and be open-minded. His original mentor turned him on to virtual mentors. Cut out the mediocre people from around you. If you want to have a successful life, you have to be willing to take risks and live in the extreme. Proximity is power. Environmental exposure is important, you start to pick up on their habits. Get around people who are on a different level, and then keep leveling up. Tweetable Quotes: “Who you know is very important, but you better have your what down." – Brad Lea "Just. Get. Started." – Dan Fleyshman "If I want to do the inner work, I have to man up and face the demons." – Bedros Keulian Resources Mentioned: Visit Travis’ website at http://www.buildyournetwork.co/ (Buildyournetwork.co) Learn more about mentorships and masterminds for FREE at http://www.freemmcourse.com/join (freemmcourse.com/enroll) Download the Himalaya App in the https://apps.apple.com/us/app/podcast-audio-player-himalaya/id1275493456 (App Store) or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ximalaya.ting.himalaya&hl=en_US (Google Play) Get more free content from Travis at http://threenetworkingsecrets.com/ (threenetworkingsecrets.com) For information regarding your data privacy, visit https://www.acast.com/privacy (acast.com/privacy)

Episode Highlights: Siloh Moses He went homeless for seven months squatting in buildings. He met someone who believed in him and was a helping hand. He never did anything for him, he just motivated him to do it himself. Just being around this guy for 2-3 weeks he started to look at things differently in the world. He began to formulate and follow a plan. Within a month and a half of talking to this guy every day, he found a job and wasn’t homeless anymore. He started going and out serving and giving back in the community. He’s had business owners who have been around for 8-10 years coming to him for advice. They’ve had success because he thinks of his non-profit as a business, he’s never seen it as a non-profit. Jairek Robbins Sees travel as important to personal transformation. Anyone can travel – even if it's a few blocks away. Get out of your space and help others. Money will not fulfill you. He shares three declarations everyone should tell themselves. We've been trained by society that we need more. PJ Dixon Don’t quit, identify what you truly want to do, living your goals with passion – people become drawn to you because it inspires them to do the same Letting people know that they matter P. J. has advised people to reach out more than once if he doesn’t respond right away The need to be genuine at events and connect – not “what can I get out of this” mentality Who you know vs. What you know: P. J. says it depends on the end result Meet people where they are at/speak their language before raising the bar of expectations Integrity – live your truth, not speaking badly about people, live who you want to be and your mind becomes more still Tweetable Quotes: "My mentor never did anything for me, he just motivated me to do it myself." – Siloh Moses "Sometimes it takes everything literally being burned to the ground to show us what's really important." – Jairek Robbins “When you let somebody know that they matter, there is nothing that they won’t do for you.” – P. 365: Topic | From Zero to Hero with Calvin Wayman, Annette Raynor, Edwin Dec 19, 2019
    Show notes

Calvin Wayman, author of Fish Out of Water, Annette Raynor, co-founder of Wealth Engineering LLC, and Edwin Arroyave, CEO of Skyline Security Management Incorporated, share with your host, Travis Chappell, their thoughts on "connecting with legends." Episode Highlights: Calvin Wayman Masterminds have been the fastest shortcut to his success in business and networking. Annette Raynor Annette started her career in 1983 with Xerox Corporation in emerging technologies. As a female in the technology field in 1983, she was in a male dominated field. She worked with the Palo Alto research center of Xerox to help the scientists there bring the technologies they were creating to the salesforce. This experience was invaluable in applying technology. She supported fortune 50 companies in solving their largest technology problems. The adoption of technology in the financial sector was practically non-existent. Applying the power of technology to the financial sector to support the common individual is totally overlooked. Her career was filled with great success and great loss that led her to her passion. She created Wealth Generators to share her experience with other entrepreneurs. Edwin Arroyave More excited now than when he first started the company in 1999. The first 10 years he wasn’t sold on the security sales industry, he did it because the money was great. Early on they started doing 200-250 accounts a month, he trained one guy at a time. He started investing back into the organization and brought in a CFO. He then went from six office employees to 50. He then left the field and focused on the operations. Made less money for a few years. Then they started growing. Even though he took himself out of the field, he’s still very involved with the sales guys. He’s an accessible owner and likes to be well-informed. His investment in his company forced him to be committed to the organization. Keep yourself accountable by forcing yourself to take action on a bigger level. Tweetable Quotes: “Mastermind relationships compound and benefit you year over year."- Calvin Wayman "The most important things in life are really not associated with the actual money. It's a resource. It's the satisfaction and application of the resource toward things that create a better environment for people." – Annette Raynor "Results give you the confidence." – Edwin Arroyave Resources Mentioned: Visit Travis’ website at http://www.buildyournetwork.co/ (Buildyournetwork.co) Learn more about mentorships and masterminds for FREE at http://www.freemmcourse.com/join (freemmcourse.com/enroll) Download the Himalaya App in the https://apps.apple.com/us/app/podcast-audio-player-himalaya/id1275493456 (App Store) or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ximalaya.ting.himalaya&hl=en_US (Google Play) Get more free content from Travis at http://threenetworkingsecrets.com/ (threenetworkingsecrets.com) For information regarding your data privacy, visit https://www.acast.com/privacy (acast.com/privacy)
