    About The Hosts

Sheena comes from a media background and in 2014 she started The Lesbian Review, a website dedicated to reviewing the best lesbian books and movies. In 2016 A podcast channel seemed like a natural progression and so she started The Lesbian Talkshow.

Sheena discovered lesbian fiction in her late teens and it helped her with her coming out process, something for which she will always be grateful.

Tamara is a marketing professional and has branched out into design and photography. Her natural love for research and learning meant that she was the perfect podcast partner when Sheena wanted to start Les Talk About It. (Well, that and the fact that Tamara is married to Sheena.)

    Just Like That (Book Club)

    Les Do Books

Sheena, founder and supercool Empress of The Lesbian Review and The Lesbian Talkshow channel, joins Tara to talk about a fabulous, wonderful, amazing book, Just Like That by Karin Kallmaker.

Check it out to hear why Tara thinks it’s one of the best adaptations of Pride and Prejudice ever, who Sheena’s favourite character is, and what makes for a full or half sex scene.

This podcast has spoilers, so be sure to read the book before you listen.

    Just Like That

From the back of the book

Syrah Ardani tried independence - but the call of the Napa Valley hills and rolling vineyards of her family's winery have brought her home again. She is content with her ordered world until she learns that her father's feckless management has put Ardani Vineyards into receivership. Corporate turnaround specialist Toni Blanchard's arrival is preceded by tales of her slash-and-burn techniques. Determined to meet this soulless corporate raider head on, Syrah proudly prepares to do battle for her home and family business. Toni has reason to retreat from a high-pressure Manhattan lifestyle, not the least of which is a bitter break up. She's been told that Syrah Ardani is attractive and single, but Toni never mixes business and pleasure. Creditors clamor for a quick sale and payment. The beautiful--and hostile--Syrah wants Toni off her land and out of her life. Their clashes smolder with distrust and resentment, but also threaten to light a completely different kind of fire. Most dangerous of all is the one thing Toni can't control--the way her heart reacts when Syrah looks at her...just like that.

After overcoming personal demons and quitting the high-stakes world of finance, Lennox King is content with keeping her life simple. As the new director of a hospice charity, she uses a strict business approach to help the charity grow and prosper.

When Rosa comes to work at the charity under orders from the Queen Consort, babysitting a spoiled princess is definitely not on Lennox's agenda. But when passion flares between them, will Lennox's past stop their relationship in its tracks, or will a twist of fate bring a new future that neither was expecting?
