    Tread Lightly by Catherine Lane

    Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

    Narrated by Ann Etter

    Synopsis

Claire, fairy godmother level one plus, is one of the best operatives at the Fairy Godmother Council, but god-mothering in the twenty-first century isn’t all it used to be. The magic’s drying up; the girls are spoiled brats, and guardian angels poach the council’s best clients whenever they can.

When her boss assigns her a VIP case, Claire assumes it’s more of the same. But Frankie, her client, seems to be the deserving underdog of the olden days. And Tamiel, the guardian angel who pops onto the scene, swears she’s there to protect Frankie, not to steal her. It doesn’t hurt she’s smokin’ hot.

As the case starts to unravel, Claire is forced to examine her own prejudices and desires. Is she heading for certain ruin, or will she grab her happily ever after in this lesbian urban fantasy?

    Les Do Books

The Sublime And Spirited Voyage Of Original Sin (Book Club )

Tara is joined in this episode by her sidekick Brooklyn Goodrich. They talk pretty excitedly about The Sublime And Spirited Voyage Of Original Sin By Colette Moody. Check it out to see why they loved it and what hobby Brooklyn picked up as a result of reading it.

This podcast has spoilers, so be sure to read the book before you check it out.

The Sublime And Spirited Voyage Of Original Sin

From the back of the book:

The Gulf of Mexico, 1702: When pirates of the square-rigger Original Sin steal ashore to abduct a doctor to tend to their wounded, they end up settling for the doctor’s attractive fiancée—Celia Pierce, the town seamstress. Together with Gayle Malvern, daughter of wounded pirate captain “Madman” Malvern, Celia becomes a reluctant participant in an unexpectedly thrilling journey through the Caribbean.

For Gayle, Celia’s presence is at first a welcome and shapely distraction, but as her attraction to the seamstress deepens, she realizes that Celia comes to mean more to her than is almost certainly prudent. As Celia and Gayle navigate the perilous territories of gypsies, prostitutes, mercenaries, and slave-traders, they forge a partnership born of necessity that Gayle soon hopes will veer away from insurmountable danger—and instead detour directly to her bed.

    About The Hosts

Sheena comes from a media background and in 2014 she started The Lesbian Review, a website dedicated to reviewing the best lesbian books and movies. In 2016 A podcast channel seemed like a natural progression and so she started The Lesbian Talkshow.

Sheena discovered lesbian fiction in her late teens and it helped her with her coming out process, something for which she will always be grateful.

Tamara is a marketing professional and has branched out into design and photography. Her natural love for research and learning meant that she was the perfect podcast partner when Sheena wanted to start Les Talk About It. (Well, that and the fact that Tamara is married to Sheena.)

    Synopsis

When a killer sets her sights on her target, is there any stopping her?

That break is cut short when she receives a mysterious package, full of incriminating information on a human trafficking ring. When she’s asked to do an interview with an actress and humanitarian, it seems like a welcome distraction. Little does she know how distracting it will become.

Elodie Fontaine is in demand. She chooses the movies she wants to work on and the women she wants in her bed. Humanitarian work takes up the rest of her time. Love isn’t an option. When Madison walks into her life, she’s faced with a dilemma: pursue Madison and lose her heart, or avoid the risk and lose her chance at happiness.

When Madison’s life is in danger, will love pull them through? Or will it be too late?

Alice never imagined that meeting co-worker Leslie would lead to an all-consuming love affair. Maladaptation by Adan Ramie

    Book Clips

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

    Synopsis

A drug deal gone wrong. The murder of an old friend. A stolen ride turned kidnapping. Three women follow the same path on a map plotted by murder. Who will survive?
A romantic thriller readers call "dark and gritty" and "a haunting story". "This is not two heroines on the run, finding love, defeating evil and living happily ever after."
Lee Barsten is stuck. Raised in foster care and group homes, she’s seen more than her fair share of abuse, and dealt out almost as much in retribution. When her best friend makes an enemy of a sadistic drug dealer, she has no choice but to run before he kills again.
In the same city, Ruby Isles might as well be living in another world. Money is abundant, but the abuse is just as plentiful. Her plan to leave her husband is dashed when she crosses paths with Lee and is forced to choose her fate in a single bloody moment.
Detective Harry Thresher picks up the scent when an exotic dancer is violently murdered, and fingerprints link the wife of a prominent businessman to the crime scene. Against orders, she follows the case down a dark and twisted path littered with bodies.
Their lives collide as drugs, murder, and lust drive them to unexpected extremes.

Welcome to Book Clips, the mini podcast where authors and narrators give you a taste of a book with a short snippet.

    Synopsis

When is war justified to preserve peace?

Society has evolved into one collective belief that celebrates diversity. Luxury credits are earned and spent only after the world population is fed and educated. But when catastrophic weather kills thousands and destroys crops, people begin to look for answers among ancient legends of guilt, retribution, and a vengeful deity.

Jael, seasoned commander of a latent cell of dragon horse warriors, understands what Alyssa, an alluring young priestess, doesn’t—words won’t be enough to quell the violent sect preying on the population’s fear and hunger. As their conflicting ideologies threaten to jeopardize their mission, Alyssa and Jael realize their growing attraction and entwined destiny might be more formidable than the enemy they have been called upon to defeat.
