    Three Dogs North

Three Dogs North are Juice, C-Bisc, and Michael Metz. Topics are carelessly selected and poorly researched. The strength of the project lies in the fact that there is no way of knowing its audience. So please come in, grab a seat, and enjoy. S5 Episode 6 – A restoration Oct 19, 2016
    Show notes

The dove descending breaks the air
    With flame of incandescent terror
    Of which the tongues declare
The one discharge from sin and error.
The only hope, or else despair
Lies in the choice of pyre or pyre-
To be redeemed from fire by fire.

Who then devised the torment? Love.
    Love is the unfamiliar Name
    Behind the hands that wove
    The intolerable shirt of flame
    Which human power cannot remove.
    We only live, only suspire
Consumed by either fire or fire.

    – Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot

“Say your prayers in a garden early, ignoring steadfastly the dew, the birds and the flowers, and you will come away overwhelmed by its freshness and joy; go there in order to be overwhelmed and, after a certain age, nine times out of ten nothing will happen to you.” – C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves, p.22

    S5 Episode 1 – To really see Aug 31, 2016
    Show notes

Greetings, friends. Miraculously, we are already beginning our fifth season of the podcast, despite only having been at it for a little over two years!

The dogs are back in their right place, and we should be at it pretty steadily for a while. You can expect weekly podcasts, and hopefully some more written work on the website. In case you’d like to check out some of the things mentioned on the episode, you can find them here:

Lord of the Rings (50th anniversary edition) by J.R.R. Tolkien

The bearded squirrel – On nature and natural law by C-bisc

Getting Things Done by David Allen

Addiction and Grace by Gerald May

Philosophy and Theology by John Caputo

A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken

Thanks for listening, and feel free to email us at threedogsnorth@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter @threedogsnorth. And if you really like us, leave us a review on iTunes.

And please note: I am aware that the title of this episode is a split infinitive. I’m too edgy to truly care.

    S4 Episode 35 – Unforeseen friends Jul 20, 2016
    Show notes

Unbelievably, this is our hundredth episode. To mark the occasion, threedogsnorth.com has gotten a facelift, and the architect behind the scenes of this whole project finally steps out from behind the microphone. Special thanks to my brother Ethan for getting Three Dogs North off the ground more than two years ago, and for giving us the advice that has kept us going: “keep doing it until it’s good.”

    We will keep trying.

If you’re not in the habit, you may want to check the website periodically for articles written by the dogs. Now that it looks, as Metz aptly put it, “way better than we deserve”, we may feel a little more impetus to give reasons for people to go there.

For everyone who has listened, sent us an encouraging email, put a 3DN sticker on on their cellular telephone, left us an iTunes review, or otherwise shown their support of what we’re doing, thank you. As long as you’re listening, we will keep trying to do this. If this is you’re first time listening to Three Dogs North, hello.
