This goes beyond the many psychological problems caused by the pandemic but transcends into the battle of personal beliefs. Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen discuss how today's chaotic setting pushed everyone to uphold contrasting opinions about racism, police brutality, vaccination, isolation, and mental health, resulting in all forms of conflict and division. What Khloe Kardashian's Unedited Photo Reveals About Beauty Culture Apr 21, 2021
    Show notes

Recently, the internet was shaken with the posting of Khloe Kardashian's unedited photo – and how she went to great lengths to make her legal team involved just to get rid of its existence online. This doesn't only reveal so much about her personality but also how this kind of situation shapes the public perception of beauty culture. Dissecting the many takeaways from this issue, Whitney Lauritsen explores how people with fame and money hugely impact society's beauty standards. As a result, this pushes many individuals, mainly women, to compare themselves with others, become pressured in living according to all kinds of expectations, and try to fit in just to be accepted. On the other hand, Jason Wrobel explains how this mindset is being leveraged by capitalism, enticing people to embrace the constant thinking of unworthiness that can only be solved simply by buying unnecessary things.

Medical Racism And How It Ties Into Vaccine Hesitancy Apr 19, 2021
    Show notes

When you look at the medical staff's historical treatment towards the black community, you can completely understand why so much of a high percentage of black people don't want to receive the vaccine. For instance, James Marion Sims, known as the Father of modern gynecology, experimented on enslaved black women without anesthesia. Today, the black community has lesser access to healthy food, adequate housing, and affordable healthcare. In this episode, Jason Wrobel and Whitney Lauritsen discuss medical racism and why it results in vaccine hesitancy among the marginalized sector of society. Join in the discussion regarding the potential discrimination against people who opt out of getting a vaccine, how health institutions should increase accessibility to all those who want to receive the vaccine regardless of status, and why we should learn to co-exist with people who have different belief systems.
