    Show notes

On the evening of August 2nd, 2006, Robert Wone stayed late after work and decided to stay at a friend's house instead of making the train ride out to the suburbs of Washington DC. Robert spoke with his wife throughout the day and eventually told her he was heading to their friends house, but he would be dead only hours later. Despite evidence pointing to a sinister end at the hands of the 3 men in the house with him, Robert Wone's unsolved murder is one of Washington DC's most notorious cases. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Sexual Assault - Stabbing Hang with us:

235: The Murder of Lauri Waterman Sep 20, 2022
    Show notes

On November 15th, 2004, the remains of 50-year-old Lauri Waterman were found in a burned out vehicle near the north side of the island of Craig, Alaska. Her remains were so badly burned that only a skull was immediately recognizable. Lauri was loved and respected in her small town, often referred to as a "saint" by most of the people who knew her. She volunteered and worked with children with special needs. Who would've killed the generous and loving mother and wife in such a brutal manner? With no enemies, it wasn't long before investigators turned their attention to her 16-year-old daughter and her new "boyfriend," who was almost a decade older than her. He beat Rodney unconscious, and when Rodney awoke, his girlfriend was gone. Several days later, the high school cheerleader was found dead in a culvert, a victim of rape and strangulation. Police only had one suspect in mind: Rodney, the high school quarterback. But Carla's family was adamant that Rodney would never hurt their daughter. Were they right? Was Carla a victim of opportunity by a stranger or was their daughter brutally attacked and murdered by her high school sweetheart? Suggested by: Trisha Ann.. hey girl, thanks! However, several hours later, Nancy's SUV was spotted in a back parking lot of the mall, still running, after the mall had closed. Inside, police found Nancy and Joey, bound and executed. In June of 1994, 13-year-old Nicholas Barclay was reported missing by his mother. He was supposed to return home from a nearby park before dinner, but Nicholas disappeared without a trace. There were no signs of the teenager until his mother received a phone call over three years later from authorities in Spain. They said that they had found her missing son, that he'd been held captive and abused for the last several years. Nicholas' family couldn't believe that he was alive and coming back to them. However, when Nicholas returned to Texas with his family, people noticed that things were off, that something didn't fit. People began to question if this was really Nicholas Barclay, or if the real missing teenager was still missing. 231: Jeffrey MacDonald Aug 23, 2022
    Show notes

On February 17th, 1970, 26-year-old Jeffrey MacDonald called 911, saying that there'd been a stabbing at his home and people were dying. MacDonald, a Green Beret, lived on the Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Military police responded quickly to the MacDonald house to find a horrific scene: 26-year-old Colette and the MacDonald's two daughters, five-year-old Kimberley and two-year-old Kristen had been stabbed and bludgeoned to death. MacDonald, however, was still alive with only minor injuries. His story quickly began to unravel to investigators as he continued to blame the murders on a group of intruders, whom he described as "drug-crazed hippies". Was MacDonald telling the truth or had he murdered his family in a fit of rage, then staged it to look like a copycat Manson murder?
