Show notes

“My daydream was always the same - that some day, I was going to get to Chicago, because that's where they make Dance TV."

This week The Wives Colangelo are heading back to the 1980s and dancing to their hearts' content with GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN. Does doing backflips automatically mean you're the best dancer? Why didn't we teach white girls with curly hair what to do other than brush them out into frizz? Will anyone ever be as cool as Helen Hunt in a grasshopper hat? Let's try to answer these questions and so much more.

Jennifer's Body, 15 Years Later Feb 08, 2024

Show notes

“Hell is a teenage girl."

15 years ago, Diablo Cody and Karyn Kusama joined forces to create one of the best teen girl films of all time, JENNIFER'S BODY. Critics didn't understand it, it was marketed for an audience that was never going to love it, but the die-hard fans who knew the truth kept it alive. Now, reclaimed 15 years later, we're revisiting the film and talking about the journey it went on from cult-hit to bonafide teen classic, and embracing the return of Diablo Cody to teen girl horror comedy with LISA FRANKENSTEIN.
