Dave Junion - Play Happy Jun 17, 2019
    Show notes

We all experience seasons in our lives that are really difficult. And sometimes you don’t realize how hard it was until you’re on the other side. Dave Junion helped my wife and I through one of our most trying seasons. When we fully transitioned our photography business from film to digital in 2002, we had no idea what we were doing. Back then, nobody really did. Or so we thought. Dave graciously gave up his time and helped us understand things in a way that I wonder if anyone else could have. And he made it fun. Simply put, we would have never been able to accomplish much of what we did without Dave Junion. He’s a creative in every sense of the word. Buckle up, ya’ll.

Dan Rowe - Beyond Emulation Jun 10, 2019
    Show notes

Learning something new can be tough. There’s no doubt about it. And that difficulty usually tends to increase as you get older. In the creative world, a lot of times we learn by emulation. Dan Rowe thinks too many people stop there. Dan’s a hard worker who considers himself less of an artist and more of a problem solver. He’s from a small town in Indiana, so he has that small town work ethic. In this episode, Dan and I discuss the what’s and the why’s of how he moved beyond emulation to develop his own style.

Aaron and Liz Vovk - The Fighters May 13, 2019
    Show notes

In a time of social media facades, it can be difficult to cope with the tendency to feel inadequate or unattractive in general. Aaron and Elizabeth Vovk are boudoir photographers in the Minneapolis area who have taken it upon themselves to help everybody feel comfortable with who they are…no matter what that looks like.

Gary Hughes - The Mess Behind the Curtain May 08, 2019
    Show notes

Gary says some things that seem fairly simple on the surface, but when you actually consider applying his advice, it becomes quite profound. I was expecting a light-hearted, funny talk with Gary. Mostly because he’s hilarious. What I got instead, was a look at the mess behind the curtain. And I left encouraged to talk to someone about my own mess. I hope you do, too.
