His journey from a troubled youth convicted of murder to an accomplished psychologist is nothing short of extraordinary. 👨‍👩‍👦 Born and raised as one of four boys, Paul's early dreams of joining the infantry and pursuing a career in the S.A.S. took an unexpected turn. He grappled with societal expectations of masculinity, believing he had to suppress vulnerability and emotion. As a result, he found himself trapped in a world of crime and addiction, trying to fit in with peers who offered no positive contributions to society. 🪓 Tragedy struck when Paul's mother passed away when he was 18, sending him spiraling into a disastrous meeting with a drug dealer just days later. This encounter led to a prison sentence that would last over a decade - his charge was murder! 📚 But within the confines of prison, Paul discovered an opportunity for Post Traumatic Growth (PTG). He immersed himself in education, ultimately earning a Ph.D. in Psychology after his release.
