Apologetics is never about having enough facts to settle the argument, it’s always about shaping the heart. When we let Jesus rule in our hearts then we’re ready to share Jesus with those who need Him, and have intelligent conversations about why we can trust Him.
There are three questions Jesus asks in the New Testament which we need to ask for ourselves; “Who do you say that I am?” “Will you lay down your life for my sake?” And “Do you love me?” Your answer to these questions will reflect your heart’s condition.
While the goal is not to be offensive, there is a sting to the gospel, and when you share the good news with people who don’t yet believe, it might be awkward. Saying “God loves you” is not offensive, though it is a true statement, we need to make the gospel clear! That it’s only through placing your faith in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection that you can be saved, and that this is the only way to eternal life.
If persecution endured by the Christians in the Bible was welcomed and without fear and panic, we surely can endure persecution today with out panic if and only if we truly believe that God lies within us. This will lead to increased boldness and a deeper love for Jesus!
