    The Warrior’s Journey

The military experience creates challenges most people don’t understand. And while there are many great organizations helping heal the physical wounds of battle, it’s often the invisible wounds that go unrecognized.

The Warrior’s Journey exists to connect warriors with warriors to help heal those invisible wounds. Each week, we’re having conversations with military thought-leaders, service providers, and warriors with personal stories of healing. They not only recognize these invisible wounds but offer advice and services for helping overcome them and for finding true resilience.

In cooperation with other military partnerships, foundations and nonprofits, The Warrior’s Journey is able to present a wide range of resources that cover the unique challenges that warriors and their families face, both downrange and at home.

Episode 79 • The Warrior's Calling (feat. Lt. Col. Ric Brown) Jan 10, 2020
    Show notes

We all have a calling – to fully embrace who God has created us to be!

In this episode, previous podcast guest and former Special Operations Combat Medic Daniel Bell dives into a riveting discussion with Lt. Col. Ric Brown, who details his combat experiences as an Army chaplain. A portion of Chaplain Brown's experience is detailed in House to House: An Epic Memoir of War by Sgt. David Bellavia, who is the sole living Medal of Honor recipient from the Iraq War.

As Chaplain Brown recounts his story, this much is clear: you don't lose God's love because of what you've done. He takes you right where you are, and has a purpose for your life: to be a warrior in whatever you're called to do and be!

    Episode 78 • Hope & Healing for Unanswered Prayers Dec 06, 2019
    Show notes

In this episode, Ernie Bywater of The Warrior's Journey welcomes back Jonathan and Mandi Windsor to talk about their painful journey through infertility, and how God has restored their hope in the midst of unanswered prayers.

Jonathan served in the US Army for 7 years and deployed to Iraq for 3 combat tours, at 12 months apiece. Mandi assisted him the best she could after he returned home from war; but months later, Jonathan was re-diagnosed with PTSD.

Together, God led them through a process of healing that battled against PTSD and eventually conquered it. They now have a strong desire to help those who struggle with PTSD and depression due to combat/trauma related work fields and trauma related events such as loss and infertility. They believe there is hope and healing to be found through the power of Jesus Christ.

His wife of 10 years, Mandi, assisted him the best she could after he returned home from war; but months later, Jonathan was re-diagnosed with PTSD. Together, God led them through a process of healing that battled against PTSD and eventually conquered it.
