    The Walking Dead ‘Cast

Fans of The Walking Dead know it’s so much more than a zombie show. It’s an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we’d go through to protect the people we care about. That’s what’s kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.)
I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City.
Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.
And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!

    96: "Clear" (S3E12) Mar 05, 2013
    Show notes

Why be coy? We loved this episode as much as you all did! One of the best of the series. Listen as we break it down. Note: Unfortunately, the audio in this episode was also somewhat broken down up until about the 43 minute mark. We apologize for the subpar quality and promise to return to our usual crystal clear sound next week! Also in this episode, we finally announce the winner of our zombie sound contest. Many thanks to Danny Miller at 20eyesco.com for donating the prize, a set of beautifully rendered posters of Zombie Shane, Zombie Sophia, and Bicycle Girl. And we have a sponsor for the episode! 95: Laurie Holden (Andrea) Interview Mar 01, 2013
    Show notes

So stoked to bring you this interview with Laurie Holden. It's definitely one of my favorites we've ever done. Laurie was incredibly open and genuine, giving her perspective on people's judgments of Andrea's character, among other things. Find out why Andrea didn't kill the Governor when she had the chance (it's not what you think), how Andrea feels about the way she treated Dale after the CDC, how it was to be apart from the main cast for most of season three, and much more. And by the way, if you've been enjoying the podcast we appreciate your reviews (or even just ratings) and subscriptions in iTunes. It’s easy and it's free. Here's how:1. Find our iTunes page here and then click “View in iTunes" (or just search for us in iTunes).2. In iTunes, click “Subscribe Free.”3. Scroll down and click “Write a Review,” and then leave us an honest rating or review. As always, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com. 94: "I Ain't a Judas" (S3E11) Feb 26, 2013
    Show notes

Yes, we thought this week's episode was on the quieter side. And maybe there wasn't a lot of plot advancement. And we thought it was great! Listen to find out why. Also, lots of great feedback from you guys and the usual Dead 'Cast fare. Thanks for listening, you guys. We love ya :) Get The Walking Dead 'Cast for free in iTunes Support the show: https://patreon.com/jasonandkaren

93: Steven Yeun (Glenn) Interview Feb 21, 2013
    Show notes

We couldn't be more pleased to present this latest interview with the gracious and talented Steven Yeun. It was great talking with him about how Glenn has changed over the course of the series, what his mindset is in recent episodes, just where he took off to just before the Governor attacked the prison, and hints at future projects for Steven, among other things. We got in a few of your questions to, so listen to find out if yours made the cut. On another note, if you've been enjoying the podcast we appreciate your reviews (or even just ratings) and subscriptions in iTunes. It’s easy and it's free. Here's how:1. 92: Nichole Beattie Interview Feb 20, 2013

My thanks to Nichole Beattie, writer of this week's Walking Dead episode (S3E10 "Home"), for another great interview. Listen and find out how she writes the action scenes in TWD, what exactly is going on between Glenn and Maggie, how things are coming along with the writing of season four, whether Axel was in fact a psycho killer (!) and more. 91: "Home" (S3E10) Feb 19, 2013
    Show notes

We're relieved to have totally dug this week's episode of TWD and we hope you liked it as much as we did. Listen as we go over the episode, report the news, read a ton of your feedback, and be sure to stay tuned for a bunch of new announcements at the end. The announcement I'm most excited about: We're in the first stages of planning a giant series finale party. We'll work with Chris & Jason at the Talking Dead podcast and probably other WD podcast to bring you an amazing way to watch the last episode of this show, whenever that may be. We'll all gather together, and we'll invite actors and creative talent to join us. We've talked about holding it in either Los Angeles, Atlanta, or New York. More details as they become available! In the meantime, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com. 89: Say Our Name (Breaking Bad S5E4-8) Jan 27, 2013
    Show notes

You all know exactly who we are. Yeah you do. Now. Say our name. You're god damn right! This episode we're joined by Jason's former Breaking Bad 'Cast co-host Lissy to (finally) cover the episodes 4-8 of the final season of that excellent show. For the uninitiated, don't worry, we also talk about a lot of TWD- and zombie-related stuff, including our thoughts on the newly announced showrunner, Scott Gimple. And we throw in some non-sequiturial chatter for good measure. Microbrew anyone? Feeling like the rug got pulled out, this episode we commiserate about the recent news that Glen Mazzara will no longer be the showrunner of TWD. Have your own feelings about it? You can tell him yourself. Listen to find out how. Also, we cover the zombie movie that got me (Jason) into zombie movies in the first place, the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Do we think it holds up? Listen to find out (but yes). And, the top five ways we'd kill a zombie horde all at once.As always, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com. 87: Charlie Adlard, Plus Silliness Dec 20, 2012
    Show notes

Always enjoyable to speak with Walking Dead illustrator Charlie Adlard. After some pleasant chit chat about Charlie's awesome prog rock band the Cosmic Rays and a sample of their work, we get into the nitty gritty. Find out what it's been like for Charlie to see his drawings come to life on the screen, his perspective on certain horrible, devastating wounds inflicted on characters who shall remain unnamed in this summary (don't worry, we warn you in the 'cast before the spoilers come), his working relationship with Kirkman, and how things have changed (or not) since the TV show.Plus, the top five ways to keep from thinking of TWD over the hiatus, a chat with the Zombie Squad (they make dead things deader), the latest news, and all your moans, groans, and gaks.To vote on which movie we'll be covering next time (Night of the Living Dead (1990 Tom Savini remake) or Return of the Living Dead) go to facebook.com/deadcast and vote!As always, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us at brains@walkingdeadcast.com.
