    The Walking Dead ‘Cast

Fans of The Walking Dead know it’s so much more than a zombie show. It’s an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we’d go through to protect the people we care about. That’s what’s kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.)
I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City.
Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.
And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!

    115: Greg Nicotero Oct 19, 2013
    Show notes

In this bonus episode we're thrilled to be talking with Greg Nicotero, one of the main creative forces behind The Walking Dead, not to mention a legend in makeup and special effects going back decades. We spoke with him about how he and his team dreams up new zombies, whether he ever gets disturbed by the gore, the possibility of Walking Dead on the big screen, his relationship with zombie progenitor George Romero, what it was like working on the set of Evil Dead II (one of our favorites), and much more. Hope you enjoy, and join us in a few days for our regularly scheduled podcast! In the meantime, if you'd like to give us a call, you can call us at (650) 485-DEAD, or you can email us or send an audio file tobrains@walkingdeadcast.com. 112: Season Three Rewatch, Pt 1 Sep 14, 2013
    Show notes

TWD S4 is coming up and in preparation, we go back and review the first eight episodes of season three. I was surprised at how much more I got out of the season by binge watching. In particular I think I understand much more clearly what was going on in the Governor's twisted brain. Listen in as I lay it out for you and go over all the bits of foreshadowing and other elements that take on a new significance when viewed as a whole. And have you checked out the guest and events lists for the upcoming Walker Stalker Convention we've been going on about? Here are a few highlights:* Norman Reedus* Lauren Cohan* Greg Nicotero* Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Breaking Bad)* Sarah Wayne Callies* Laurie Holden* A concert from Emily Kinney* A podcast panel with us, The Walker Stalkers, The Talking Dead, and Watching Dead (and we're working on setting up a meetup with you guys too)* Tons more. Seriously, those are some of the highlights, but there's a lot more going on too. You can find out more and get tickets at walkerstalkercon.com. Karen and I will be hosting many of the Q&A sessions and we would love to see a whole bunch of you out there. And finally, the 9th Annual Podcast Awards is fast approaching. If you want us to win, you can nominate us in the Entertainment and Best Produced categories at podcastawards.com on Oct 1. We appreciate it! 109: Fan Meetup with the Prisoners from TWD Jul 27, 2013
    Show notes

All right here it is, the recording of our Walking Dead fan meetup held during Comic Con! I had a blast co-hosting this event with James from The Walker Stalkers (with Eric assisting via Skype and a cameo from Karen). It was great fun talking live with Tyler Chase (Ben), Theodus Crane (Big Tiny), Nick Gomez (Tomas), Daniel Thomas May (Allen), and Travis Love (Shumpert). Most of all, it was super cool that the crowd seemed to have a really good time (as you'll hear), and we hope you enjoy the broadcast too! PS - Big thanks to Mr. Blahg, Gen Jacobs, Jame's son Jaden, and my friends Eric, Cybil, and Danny for helping out at the event. Saved our bacon! PPS - I forgot to say "Don't get bit" at the end. But I still don't want you to. Get The Walking Dead 'Cast for free in iTunes Support the show: https://patreon.com/jasonandkaren

108: The Last of Us + Telltale's The Walking Dead Jul 16, 2013
    Show notes

After seeing World War Z, Karen immediately flew to Israel (coincidence? hmm....), leaving Mr. Blahg and I here all by our lonesomes. Since we both just played and loved Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and Telltale's The Walking Dead: 400 Days, we decided why not podcast about them! We've also got the latest news and, of course, your feedback. And next week is Comic Con and our fan meetup with The Walker Stalkers and some of the actors from TWD. If you've been on the fence about it, now's your last chance to get tickets and join us! walkingdeadcast.com/tickets Get The Walking Dead 'Cast for free in iTunes Support the show: https://patreon.com/jasonandkaren
