    The Walking Dead ‘Cast

Fans of The Walking Dead know it’s so much more than a zombie show. It’s an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we’d go through to protect the people we care about. That’s what’s kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.)
I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City.
Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.
And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!

Crawl on into this dark rocky passageway with us as we hyperventilate through the mid-season premiere. So much fun! This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. On the next episode of the Patreon-exclusive Jason & Karen Show, Karen and I are covering the Oscar-winning movie Parasite from Korean writer/director Bong Joon Ho, plus our usual goofiness. Or if you find value in all the stuff I put out and want to show support, but don't feel like committing to a monthly contribution, you can now buy me a coffee by going to buymeacoffee.com/cabassi. Merci beaucoup :) And more importantly, if you're a U.S. citizen, Lucy and I would appreciate so much if you would vote in the election this year. With the extra-long mid-season break this year, it feels like it's been awhile! So Lucy and I decided to try something new and get caught up on the story with a recap and moments that stood out. We enjoyed looking back on what's been a great season so far, plus we talk about our hopes for the rest of the season, read your hopes and feedback, and go over the latest Walking Dead news. 384: Jason & Karen Show: Star Trek: Picard Feb 01, 2020
    Show notes

Here's the most recent episode of our normally Patreon-exclusive Jason & Karen Show podcast. Karen and I are both longtime fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation and we were excited to talk about the new series Star Trek: Picard. We spent about half of it reminiscing about Next Generation :) But even if you're not into Star Trek, skip ahead to hear us shamelessly judge a bunch of random things, many of them submitted by you guys this time, plus a particularly fun Stuff That's Great segment, and a pop-up topic from Meagan Gushulak. Enjoy! This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. If you feel inspired, I totally appreciate the support, and as a bonus if you pledge at $5, you get every existing episode of the Jason & Karen Show plus all future eps as long as you pledge. 383: Top 10 Games of the Decade + The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Jan 11, 2020
    Show notes

Some amazing video games came out in the 2010s and Ben Beck of Next Level Radio is with me to count down our top 10 games of the decade -- plus games we're curious about but didn't get around to playing, and games we're looking forward to. And, Skydance Interactive is about to put out The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, an incredible looking VR game set in a flooded post-apocalyptic New Orleans, where you get to play out your fantasies of what you'd actually do in the ZA. I think you're really going to enjoy the conversation I had about the game with creative director Adam Grantham (starts at 1:37:58). For the trailer and more information on The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, go to vrwalkingdead.com. For more of Ben's podcasts, check out nextlevelradioonline.com. 382: Jay Bonansinga & Melissa Hutchison + Neil Cohen Dec 27, 2019
    Show notes

And now for something completely different: This episode I'm so very pleased to talk with two amazing friends who I've met through my involvement with TWD, Walking Dead novelist Jay Bonansinga and Clementine voice actress Melissa Hutchison! We talk all about how being involved in the world of The Walking Dead has impacted our lives, among other things. And to continue the theme of being a fan of TWD and then getting involved to a greater level, I talk with author Neil Cohen about his book Business Is Dead: Resurrecting Entrepreneurship Through the Fan-Focused Venture. You'll learn about a varied group of people who've each turned their Walking-Dead-related hobby or passion into a business. Plus we talk a little about Neil's zombie novel trilogy inspired by his experience working in government agencies supporting emergency management and counterterrorism. You can find links to all Neil's books at businessisdead.com. This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. 381: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie Dec 04, 2019
    Show notes

One of my all-time favorite TV shows (maybe my very favorite) is AMC's Breaking Bad, so I was stoked to hear creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan was releasing a sequel movie, called El Camino, on Netflix. This week Rima, Dianna, and I cover the movie. Church! Note: We had a few audio problems (some clips and crackles) early on, but it smooths out pretty quick so hang in there. This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. On the next episode of the Patreon-exclusive Jason & Karen Show podcast we're covering the classic National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which I love and Karen will be seeing for the first time. 380: "The World Before" (S10E8) Nov 26, 2019

Intense episode this week. Though the Whisperers suffer a loss, I feel like their plan to chip away at the foundation of Alexandrian society is succeeding, and our friends are shaken, paranoid, fearful, and ready to go off like a loaded gun. Lucy and I had an fun, interesting, in-depth talk about it all. Enjoy! This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. Thank you for the support guys. It's truly appreciated. In the most recent episode of the Patreon-exclusive Jason & Karen Show podcast, Karen and I covered Doctor Sleep and escape rooms. Show notes

My obstinate denial served me well this episode because I got one hell of a surprise at the end :) Lucy and I really enjoyed this ep, and Cindi joins me for a quick Comic Talk. Loving how great TWD has been! It makes it so much more fun to podcast about. Enjoy! On another note, I've been watching and podcasting on The Mandalorian, the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series, and it's SO GREAT! I'm loving it and I highly recommend it. It's the Star Wars thing we've been looking for. If you're watching, be sure to check out our coverage at House Podcastica: The Mandalorian Edition, hosted by Jason, Rich, and Chris.
