    The Walking Dead ‘Cast

Fans of The Walking Dead know it’s so much more than a zombie show. It’s an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we’d go through to protect the people we care about. That’s what’s kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.)
I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City.
Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more.
And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it!

    Show notes

It’s a brand new Walking Dead series, and we approached it cautiously. But we found a lot to like about The Walking Dead: World Beyond. An intriguing story, solid characters, a fresh take, a look at some of the mysteries of the WD universe, and more. 405: James Frazier of Walker Stalker Con Sep 24, 2020
    Show notes

Surprise guest James Frazier, founder of Walker Stalker Con, joins me this episode. As most of you guys know, I moderated panels for WSC throughout its run, meeting most of the Walking Dead actors and many of you listeners around the country and overseas. It was quite the experience, and I’m grateful to James for putting it together. As you might also know, the whole thing fell apart at the end, and a lot of people are still owed refunds and payments. And James is here to talk about all facets of Walker Stalker Con: how it started, what it was like to run it, what went wrong, and what recourse people who were affected may have. 402: Misery Aug 19, 2020
    Show notes

In honor of being stuck inside, we’re covering Misery, the 1990 Rob-Reiner-directed adaptation of Stephen King’s harrowing novel about a hobbled writer and a very toxic fan. It’s long been one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations, and it was fun to revisit it and see whether it holds up. I’m joined by Rima and Pake for our annual Comic-Con special, where we review the Walking Dead trailers that came out of Comic-Con (three of ‘em this time), go over upcoming movies and shows we’re looking forward to, and look back at how well our picks from last year turned out (usually, not very!). 400: Angela Kang + 10th Anniversary Special Jul 25, 2020
    Show notes

It’s our 10th anniversary special, and we’re celebrating in style! First it’s a fun and in-depth interview with TWD showrunner Angela Kang, who has brilliantly reinvigorated the show over the last couple seasons. Then Karen, Lucy, and I go over some of our favorite memories and highlights of doing the podcast over the years. And finally, some sweet and heartfelt messages from a bunch of you. Putting this episode together reminded me what an incredible experience it’s been doing this podcast over the years, and most of that is because of the people who have been involved with it. So thanks for listening and for being a part of this everybody. Seriously, it’s been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever been a part of, and you guys have a lot to do with that. If you enjoy these podcasts and you'd like to throw in some support (and you're interested in hearing me and Karen on a regular basis, via The Jason & Karen Show), you can pledge at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. Or if you just want to make a one-time donation, you can do that at buymeacoffee.com/cabassi. Lastly, I’d love it if every one of you guys reading this would make sure to vote this year! You’ve heard it said a lot I’m sure, but this is the most important election I personally have ever known. You can find out if you’re registered, register if you’re not, and apply to vote by mail at vote.org. Thanks guys <3 Support the show: https://patreon.com/jasonandkaren

    399: Dan Fogler (Luke) Jul 13, 2020
    Show notes

Such a pleasure to talk with Dan Fogler, a.k.a. Luke of The Walking Dead, an engaging guest and a man of many talents. Listen in to hear Dan talk about: Whether he agrees with Luke about the importance of art to the development of human civilization. How he ended up on The Walking Dead. How he feels about Luke’s signature blazer. Whether he’s aware that it seems like the show keeps making us think Luke is about to die. What he thought about the end of The Walking Dead comic series. The upcoming Heavy-Metal-inspired comics that Dan has written, Brooklyn Gladiator (with Simon Bisley of Lobo fame!), Fishkill (with Ben Templesmith of 30 Days of Night!), and Moon Lake. His awesome podcast: DAN FOGLER'S 4d Xperience! Whether Dan considers himself a nerd. The name he chose for Luke’s weapon. 397: The Last of Us Part II Jun 26, 2020
    Show notes

The original game The Last of Us was an incredible experience: thrilling, beautiful, moving, violent, engaging, and memorable, enough so that it’s not only one of my very favorite games, but also one of my all-time favorite stories, of any kind. Now, almost exactly seven years later, I’m joined again by Erik (aka Mr. Blahg) to talk through the newly released and long-awaited sequel, The Last of Us Part II. How do we think it compares? You’ll have to listen to find out :) By the way, we have a like 30-minute non-spoilery segment, and like a 45-minute super-spoilery-AF segment, in case you haven't finished yet and don't want to know what happens. Our 10th anniversary is coming up and we’d love to hear from you guys to help us celebrate. Send a voice message to us at brains@podcastic.com and we’ll play it during the episode.
