The Unbusy Mom: Because you’re ambitious, you want to grow your business, and you still want a life.

You’re ambitious. You want the money, the challenge, the launches, the strategy, the satisfaction of figuring out a hard problem and thinking, yep, I nailed that.

So how did we end up here?

Working all day and still not getting to the thing you actually wanted to do. Feeling pulled in a million directions. Putting your own projects off again. Being the CEO of your business and somehow also the COO of everybody else’s life.

‘Cause you can make the launch work. The kids’ schedules work. The team work. The Sunday night work. The vacation-with-the-laptop work.

You can make almost anything work.

Until you look up and think… wait. Why am I doing all of this?

I’m Alyssa, and I’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to build a business I love without making my entire life revolve around keeping it running.

On The Unbusy Mom, we’re going to question some of the things you’ve probably accepted as just how business works.

We’ll talk about motherhood, ambition, Human Design, time management, delegation, productivity…. And the invisible responsibilities that make your business feel heavier than it needs to be.

I.e., what actually has to change when you want a business AND a life. Because I don’t think you’re here to prove how much you can carry.

Because I don’t think you’re here to prove how much you can carry.

You wanted it all – business AND kids.

So you’re going to have to make some changes to the structure of the one you’ve already got.

    But are they, really?
Are they truly getting the mom who has tons of time to play with them? Sit with them? Read to them?

Why you’ve got to get the go-go-go out of your family’s schedule if you're running a business, too! (Here’s how the busyness is hurting you) Sep 03, 2024
    Show notes

Look – it’s not healthy to have a “go-go-go” family life. To feel like you’re at the mercy of your schedule.

You’re the mom. YOU put those things on your schedule.

And if haste and hurry aren’t serving you (which, of course, they aren’t), then you get to move those things right off your calendar.

    Today’s topics:

    • The surefire way to pinpoint why you can’t release anything on your schedule
    • The celiac analogy and making changes to your family
    • How to delete stress so you can change your perpetual overwhelm level

Take my word for it. (Or don’t. That’s your choice.)

But living on the hamster wheel will have its consequences, one day. That much you can be sure of.

So it’s time to make a decision.

Permission giving: you’re allowed to need a mentor for part of your work from home life (aka, being supermom is not a requirement!) Motivation Monday Sep 02, 2024
    Show notes

This is motivation Monday, and today we’re talking about why you’re allowed to need a mentor for part of your work from home life (aka, being supermom is not a requirement!).
It’s okay – you’re allowed – to feel that what you really need right now is a personal mentor to walk you through this particular area.
Because at this point in your life, in your business, in your motherhood journey, you really feel like you would go farther, faster, with someone on hand to personally answer your q’s about everything (even the “dumb” ones), hand you her cheat-sheet mindset, and download everything possible about her way of viewing the world.
That’s what you need, sometimes – and that’s perfectly all right.

Are you willing to get it wrong to get it right?

    Today’s topics:

    • Why your fear of taking action is actually dooming you to perpetual failure
    • How perfectionism holds you back from your personalized route to success in business
    • Why good ideas aren’t enough - you have to be willing to action on the bad ones
