S08E07 - Joe Tracini (Re-Run for Mental Health Awareness Week 2021) May 13, 2021

Show notes

It's Mental Health Awareness Week this week so we thought we'd re-run this incredibly powerful chat with Joe Tracini from a couple of years ago. Hope you're all good. xx

Hiyer. How are ya? Well we hope. We've been on a sabbatical as Craig has been moving house and getting a load of other life stuff sorted, but we're back and bringing you a weekly dose of TSP conversational goodness. We kick off again with a chat with Joe Tracini. Joe is an actor, magician, presenter and activist who exudes energy and positivity but he's had it pretty tough. Joe talks us through his mental illness, his compulsions, his addiction, his closeness to suicide and the incredible hardships he has come through to be where he is today. We met Joe on a chilly winter's day in Soho. We got a couple of coffee's and got down to it. We'd like to thank Joe for his extraordinary candidness and honesty. It's so brave to talk about what is still so stigmatised with such self-reflection and lack of self-pity. If anyone is affected by the issues raised in this episode there are plenty of people to talk to. If this is you, please talk to one of the following organisations, or search for someone similar in your country or region;https://www.samaritans.orghttps://www.mind.org.ukhttps://www.thecalmzone.netThanks - TSP X

As Craig mentions in the intro, this episode contains spoilers for the latest series of Line of Duty so if you're not up to date then maybe swerve this until you've finished watching.

Show notes

La!

What's happening TSP listener mates? Hope you're all in fine fettle. This week's Two Shot Podcast comes to you all the way from Tonyrefail in the Welsh Valleys and our guest is the totally fabulous Callum Scott Howells.

Callum plays a callow young man having his eyes opened to the ways of the world and his performance is absolutely masterful. In this episode, he and Craig talk through what lead him to playing this breakthrough role via musical theatre, daily kebabs, messages from Elton John, and his own move to the big city.

S07E19 - Roy Mar 04, 2021

Show notes

Happy Thursday to you. Well, c'mon, we have to try and be a little bit positive don’t we? If you’re in the UK, we hope you’re enjoying the crisper, sunnier days. It’s really helping with everything isn’t it?

This week we head over to Liverpool (albeit remotely) to have a sit down with storyteller ‘Roy’. To give you some context to our conversation, ‘Roy’ very kindly reads an excerpt from his recently published book of short stories, ‘Algorithm Party’ ( available to buy on Rough Trade) It’s a fascinating discussion where Craig and ‘Roy’ discuss growing up on the same street for years, acceptance, grief, addiction, recovery, creativity and so much more. Just to warn you, this episode touches on certain sensitive subjects such as suicide, addiction and contains very strong language. It is however, a discussion full of hope and ultimately, positivity and we think you’re going to be gripped.

Also, on a side note, you may have heard but from 21st March Craig will be hosting the official Line Of Duty podcast over on BBC SOUNDS so go get subscribed if that’s your thing.
