Supplies Are (Not) Limited – The TouchArcade Show #573 Nov 18, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we talk A LOT about the new Steam Deck OLED, which I’ve had for about a week and can safely say is awesome, and which Eli ordered the Limited Edition of yesterday because buying expensive things he doesn’t really need is his JAM. Or perhaps I should say “Limited" Edition, because it’s still in stock as of this writing! That was the case with the new colorways of the Analogue Pocket too. Those have been notoriously difficult to get a hold of but again as of this writing there is the pink version still in stock. We also catch up on a few emails which leads to plenty of good discussion, especially around all the great strides being made recently in the world of the Miyoo Mini.

Don’t forget to shoot us emails with any questions, feedback, or anything else relevant or irrelevant to podcast@toucharcade.com. We read ’em all, and love decoding messages written entirely in emoji. As always, you can listen to us with the links below… And if you like what you hear, please subscribe and/or drop us a review in iTunes. Much appreciated!

As a companion to this audio podcast, we also do a video version of the same show that is exclusive to Patreon which allows you to see us playing the games we’re talking about. Backers can view the most recent video episodes of the TouchArcade show by clicking here. Be sure you’re logged in to see the latest content. For everyone else who is curious, you can check out our public patreon posts to see older episodes of the video podcast. If you like what you see, consider becoming a TouchArcade Patreon backer.

The Crossover Episode Nobody Asked For – The TouchArcade Show #572 Nov 11, 2023
    Show notes

This is a particularly special episode of The TouchArcade Show as both Eli and myself were guests on this week’s Macrumors Show, the podcast of our sister site Macrumors. So you’re actually getting a double dose of Eli and Jared this week, whether you like it or not! For audio listeners you’ll find the full Macrumors Show stitched right onto the end of our normal podcast, which means there’s nearly 2 hours of junk to listen to in your future. Yikes! Video watchers can find the link to the Macrumors Show video in the description of this week’s TouchArcade Show video, and I’ll link it below too, so be sure to check it out. Our podcast mainly focuses on Eli’s new Meta smart glasses and the announcement of the Steam Deck OLED, while the Macrumors Show is focused entirely on Apple and gaming in general. They are both (hopefully) interesting listens so we hope you enjoy!

Are Smart Glasses Ready for Prime Time? – The TouchArcade Show #571 Nov 04, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show, Eli wonders if it’s finally time to try out a pair of those fancy smart glasses that have been coming out lately, and wonders if any of our listeners have any first-hand experience or advice. Could that be YOU? We also hit on some emails and plenty of handheld gaming talk, including how difficult it can be to go back to a game from WAY back when that you have fond memories of but doesn’t hold up so well today. Cough, Resident Evil, cough. We cap things off with some Super Mario Bros. Wonder talk and all the latest news with Apple Arcade.

Simpsons Tapped Out Still Going Strong – The TouchArcade Show #570 Oct 28, 2023
    Show notes

Oh boy, this week’s podcast is especially off the rails! Well, actually, probably not any more than usual, it just feels that way for some reason. We start off by talking about the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and video game movies in general. We then marvel at the longevity of The Simpsons Tapped Out before pondering if it’s worth diving back into the world of Fallout 76. I then talk about my hands-on time with the iOS port of Resident Evil Village, which is an impressive port to say the least. Eli’s new cooking gadget, a listener email, some Miyoo Mini Plus talk, and some last minute wrestling chat round things out for this week.

Mario is Back, Baby! – The TouchArcade Show #569 Oct 21, 2023
    Show notes

We hit on a variety of (gaming related!) topics on this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show, headlined of course by the first new entry in the mainline Super Mario Bros. series in over a decade: Super Mario Wonder. Well, after a quick update on my dog’s health issues, but after that it’s all games, all the time including the aforementioned Mario, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 which just recently hit Steam and is great on the Steam Deck, and even my recent re-infatuation with Dead Cells. And that’s just scratching the surface!

A Spooky Bag of Soup – The TouchArcade Show #568 Oct 14, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we go all over the map in terms of topics of discussion. I give a recap on what games I’ve been playing with my kids since we finished Skyward Sword HD a while back, and we also dip into some Miyoo Mini talk since we love playing games on that little guy. We then jump into more listener emails which touches on all sorts of topics, like the Analogue Pocket shenanigans, the death of mobile eSports, and Eli’s adventure with the Olive Garden Pasta Pass from a few years ago. Truly a fun episode if you enjoy listening to two dudes BS’ing!

Listener Emails and the iPhone 15! – The TouchArcade Show #567 Sep 30, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we finally get to a backlog of emails that have been hanging out in our inbox for, oh, about a month or so. We love getting emails as they always lead to interesting discussion about a variety of topics. Home ownership, the Playdate, the possibility of sideloading on iOS in the future, and much more. We also hit on the kind of odd drama surrounding the limited run versions of the Analogue Pocket and then close out the show with some thoughts on the iPhone 15 Pro Max which we’ve both had for exactly one week now.

    The iPhone 15 Episode – The TouchArcade Show #566 Sep 23, 2023
    Show notes

After a 3 week hiatus The TouchArcade Show returns with another action-packed episode! Well, maybe not so much “action-packed" as it is “packed with talk about the iPhone 15 Pro". Eli, being in a time zone 3 hours ahead of me, as well as being smart enough to convince his UPS guy to allow him to meet up at his first delivery spot in order to grab his package early, already had his iPhone 15 Pro Max early this morning. However, due to it taking AGES to transfer from his old phone, he didn’t get to actually use the darn thing in time for us to talk about it on the show. Me? My phone came well after we wrapped up and is still sitting in its box until I can finish writing… this… sentence. Done! iPhone here I come!

With Special Guest Lonnie! – The TouchArcade Show #565 Aug 26, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show, we do something we haven’t done in a VERY long time: Invite a guest on! I think it was late last year that we had anyone other than myself and Eli on, so for a change of pace we asked if long-time mobile gaming influencer and all-around good fella Lonnie would be interested in coming on to catch up about mobile games and life and stuff. Lonnie was one of the first big YouTubers that focused on mobile gaming, and our paths have crossed many times over the last ten years or more, so it’s nice to finally have him on the podcast to talk shop. If you aren’t already be sure to check him out on YouTube, or TikTok, or Twitter or probably any other social network you can think of. Thanks again for joining us Lonnie!

The Opposite of Disheveled – The TouchArcade Show #564 Aug 19, 2023
    Show notes

In this week’s exciting new episode of The TouchArcade Show Eli gives us an update on his poisonous plant rash as well as his playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 and how he’s been faring with Warcraft Rumble. We then touch very lightly on the Linus Tech Tips drama, even though neither of us knows enough about what’s going on to make any sort of informed commentary about it. Oh well! We also dive into some listener eamils which leads to a long discussion on the game Repulsive being removed from the App Store, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about the story linked in the Show Notes will help you out.
