Won’t You Be My Steam Friend? – The TouchArcade Show #523 Mar 12, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s podcast Eli and I solved one of the world’s most important problems: Poop on the sidewalk. We then jump into some more Steam Deck and Elden Ring discussion, talk about our favorite weather apps, the Apple Peek Performance event from Tuesday, and… drumroll please… we actually spend a good amount of time talking about mobile gaming stories. How about that! As always links to these topics are in the Show Notes below.

Don’t forget to shoot us emails with any questions, feedback, or anything else relevant or irrelevant to podcast@toucharcade.com. We read ’em all, and love decoding messages written entirely in emoji. As always, you can listen to us with the links below… And if you like what you hear, please subscribe and/or drop us a review in iTunes. Much appreciated!

As a companion to this audio podcast, we also do a video version of the same show that is exclusive to Patreon which allows you to see us playing the games we’re talking about. How DARE You Question the Playdate – The TouchArcade Show #522 Mar 05, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we start off by giving Eli a firm berating for his sheer audacity to question the months-long radio silence over the Playdate. How could one person be so stupid? We then ponder what might be the next commemorative Game & Watch release from Nintendo, and for what it’s worth my money is on Metroid. Then we shift gears into more discussion about the world’s hottest gadget, the Steam Deck, and segue right into more discussion about the world’s hottest video game Elden Ring. And more! One thing we don’t touch on at all in this week’s show is… mobile gaming talk. Go figure.

Steam Decks and Teslas – The TouchArcade Show #521 Feb 26, 2022
    Show notes

This week’s TouchArcade Show features a rollercoaster of emotions as Eli tells us all about how his precious Tesla is finally in his possession. I counter this feel good happy story with my own tale of how my precious bicycle was stolen right out of my backyard. We then switch gears to the big AAA game release of the moment, Elden Ring, before we spend a whole lot of time discussing Valve’s Steam Deck, which officially launched today. I wrote a big long review for it which you can find in the Show Notes below.

A Dumb Baby Game for Idiots – The TouchArcade Show #520 Feb 19, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s podcast we play a bit of catch-up and talk about some actual mobile gaming news after spending the entirety off last week’s show talking about the Steam Deck. But don’t worry, we totally talk about the Steam Deck some more in this episode too, just not like the entire time or anything. We also spend a bit of time wondering what the heck is going on with the Playdate, since we haven’t heard anything new for quite a while, and Eli tells us all about his current infatuation with Lost Ark.

We Got a Steam Deck! – The TouchArcade Show #519 Feb 12, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we talk about how we now have a Steam Deck. I repeat: We have a Steam Deck! Valve was cool enough to send TouchArcade a review unit, but we can’t say too much about it until launch on February 25th. However, several high-profile gaming YouTubers did get the green light for some early hardware review coverage, and so we spend our entire show talking about their findings and all things Steam Deck (the things that we’re allowed to talk about anyway). Links to the videos we talk about are in the Show Notes below. It’s a fun one, and a brief one, as Eli had some Important Business to tend to. Enjoy!

Hey Apple, Sideload THIS! – The TouchArcade Show #518 Feb 05, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we once again dive into the latest Apple antitrust drama. This week it’s the Netherlands which is requiring Apple to allow outside payments inside of dating apps, of all things. You can tell Apple is not thrilled about it. We then jump into the gaming news of the week which includes the sale of everybody’s favorite viral sensation Wordle to The New York Times and the shuttering of yet another free to play mobile game based on a mega IP. As always these stories are all linked in the Show Notes below.

Hopefully Not Jared’s Last Show – The TouchArcade Show #517 Jan 29, 2022
    Show notes

My suspicions from last week were correct, and after my two kids tested positive for Covid last week both my wife and I have now tested positive as well. It seems you just can’t escape this stuff lately. Thankfully the two little ones are pretty much fully recovered, and so far neither my wife or I have had symptoms that are too severe. Still though, it sucks. Somehow this didn’t stop us from recording a show this week though, and in this episode we talk about the Steam Deck’s release next month, crazy NFT-laden record release parties, our favorite game systems of all time (spoiler: the GBA), and plenty more. Eli speculates that this could be my last show if Covid does me in, and I, uh, hope that doesn’t happen.

A House Full of Covid – The TouchArcade Show #516 Jan 22, 2022
    Show notes

It’s been a rough week as both of our young children tested positive for Covid, and since recording this early on Friday my wife has tested positive now too. Thankfully the kids seemed to recover fairly quickly and are mostly back to normal, and I hope the same for my wife and myself should this nasty stuff get to me too (which it very likely will). So this week’s show is a bit on the shorter side due to Eli having a vet obligation and me just been dead ass tired, but we do dig into two pretty hot topics in the world of tech and gaming: A new antitrust bill that could force Apple to allow sideloading on the iPhone, and the blockbuster deal that will see Microsoft picking up Activision for a cool 68 billion with a B.

The Best Wordle Clone in Town – The TouchArcade Show #515 Jan 15, 2022
    Show notes

In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we dig into the drama of the moment which is the cloning and subsequent gloating about the cloning of the lovely little free word game Wordle. This leads into some additional drama about how PUGB Mobile is suing both Apple and Google for all the battle royale clones out there. For some reason it took them literally years to decide to do this? We then cap things off with the news of the week which includes yet another free to play game shutting down and the triumphant return of Crush the Castle. Links to all these stories are in the Show Notes below.

We’re back… again! Yes, after taking a month off of shows, and then doing a return show, we just weren’t able to find time to record during the last two weeks with all the holiday nonsense going on. So we’re back again, friends, with an XL episode discussing all of TouchArcade’s Best of 2021 coverage as well as what we’re looking forward to in 2022. Links to all the Best of the Year coverage can be found in the Show Notes below, so strap in for about 90 minutes of TouchArcade Show goodness.
