Creatures of the Lost Story Arc: Magical Beings Jul 28, 2020

Show notes

Welcome to the second episode of our Creatures of the Lost Story Arc series all about Magical Beings! We talk about werewolves, vampires, giants, goblins, and more! These characters have definitely been lost in the story line but play a major role in the wizarding role. They have also been heavily discriminated against and bring up a lot of #political themes. It is a heavy episode so we hope you all are ready!

Creatures of the Lost Story Arc: House Elves Jul 15, 2020

TW: sexual assault, enslavement

This is episode 1 of a 4 part series called Creatures of the Lost Story Arc! Thanks to our Patron, Josephine, she gave us this wonderful idea of focusing on the creatures in Harry Potter whose stories did not take a prime focus in the series and even less in the movies. We are going heavy in the #politicalthemes for the next two months so get ready for this crazy ride!

This episode we focus on our House Elves! Dobby, Kreacher, Winky, Pipi! There is so much behind the house elves, their story lines and their enslavement that we decided to do an episode just for them to give them some much needed justice. Warning, there will be tears whenever Dobby is involved and Jenny is showing a lot of feelings.

End of School: Happy Anniversary Broomchicks! Jun 29, 2020

Show notes

It is the end of the school year both at Hogwarts and in the muggle world! The end of the school year is a hectic time for our heroes and we cover all the events that happen as the Hogwarts school year is coming to a close.

We also take the time to celebrate our one year anniversary of The Three Broomchicks! We have been publishing episodes and you all have been listening for a whole year already and that is wild. Elizabeth gets emotional, Marianne joins in, and Jenny is just uncomfortable the whole time.

More Than House Pride Jun 11, 2020

Trigger Warning: talk of coming out, gender fluidity, rape

Happy Pride month! We are joined by a very special guest, our best friend Adrian! Three heterosexual cis-gendered females and one homosexual cis-gendered male attempt to talk about all things pride and the extensive list of characters that represent the LGBTQ+ community in Harry Potter.... (insert sarcasm). This episode was recorded right after J.K. Rowling's latest string of transphobic tweets and before she released her essay about her tweets and views. Our feelings are hot and fresh as we discuss why her words are extremely problematic.

We stand as fierce allies of the LGBTQ+ community and the black community. We will be donating our May income from Patreon to the following Black, trans, and LGBTQ+ organizations and we ask if you are able to do so as well:
