Season 13, Episode 102 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this late Thursday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the first full day of the 2023 NFL league year that took place on Thursday that included the Pittsburgh Steelers agreeing to terms with yet another outside unrestricted free agent linebacker.
We begin our discussion by passing along the Thursday news of the Steelers deciding to cut veteran inside linebacker Myles Jack after one season. We discuss the move in its totality, how much salary cap space was saved with that transaction, and more.
The Steelers did agree to terms with inside linebacker Elandon Roberts, formerly of the Miami Dolphins, on Thursday, so we spend a lot of time discussing the tape we have both watched of him from the 2022 season. We go over what his signing would mean and what impact, if any, it might have on the position when it comes to the 2023 NFL Draft.
Two newly signed Steelers, cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Nate Herbig, held their introductory press conferences on Thursday so Alex and I discuss the key takeaways from those two media sessions in this show.
The Steelers have now restructured the contract of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, so we go over the details related to that move in this show. Additionally, the new contract numbers for safety Damontae Kazee surfaced while recording this episode so we make sure to pass those along.
The Steelers were busy on the 2023 Pro Day circuit again on Thursday so as usual, Alex and I discuss who from the organization we spotted earlier in the day and where.

We begin our discussion by passing along the Wednesday news of the Steelers deciding to not tender any of their four restricted free agents. We go over what that decision means and if we think any of those four players will get re-signed to cheaper deals in the coming days. We also go over how long the list of non-tendered restricted free agents there were around the NFL this year.
The Steelers did agree to terms with inside linebacker Cole Holcomb, formerly of the Washington Commanders, on Wednesday, so we spend a lot of time discussing the tape we have both watched of him from the 2022 season. We go over what his signing would mean and what impact, if any, it might have on the position when it comes to the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Steelers reportedly made some sort of run at free agent tackle Orlando Brown Jr. on Wednesday before he ultimately signed a big deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. That makes for an interesting topic that we discuss.
We speculate the numbers of the contract that defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi agreed to later in this show and what the Steelers' current salary cap situation likely looks like.

Season 13, Episode 100 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this late Tuesday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the second day of the annual NFL legal tampering period and how it included several more moves related to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We start by talking about the Steelers agreeing to terms with former New York Jets guard Nate Herbig earlier on Tuesday. We have both watched a little tape on Herbig since the news about him broke and we go over our notes on the former undrafted free agent out of Stanford. Later in the show, we go over the full contract details related to Herbig.
The Steelers also reportedly re-signed safety Damontae Kazee and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi on Tuesday so Alex and I go over those decisions. We don't have the full contract details yet on both of those players but we do have some financials to pass along. We go over what the re-signings mean and more.
Late Tuesday afternoon we learned that the Steelers will be losing inside linebacker Robert Spillane in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. We go over thar news in addition to the talking about the report that the Steelers made an attempt to sign inside linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, who ultimately re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
Alex and I discuss the Steelers big hole in the Steelers' inside linebacker room exiting Tuesday and whether they'll fill it with an outside unrestricted free agent in the coming days.
We move on to briefly talk about the Steelers' current salary cap situation and whether the team will create more space on Wednesday via either contract terminations or restructures.

Season 13, Episode 99 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this late Monday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the start of the annual NFL legal tampering period and how it included two moves related to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We start by talking about the Steelers losing unrestricted free agent cornerback Cameron Sutton to the Detroit Lions about midday on Monday. We go over what the Steelers lost on defense with Sutton signing elsewhere, the details of the contract that he signed with the Lions, and other tidbits related to that move.
The Steelers did follow up the loss of Sutton by signing former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson on Monday. We go over the early details related to his two-year deal that are out there, what he brings to the Steelers and what all he had to say on Monday to former Pittsburgh cornerback Bryant McFadden during their podcast episode.
Alex and I have both watched a little bit of tape on Peterson since he agreed to terms with the Steelers and go over what we observed. We talk about how he potentially fits in the Steelers defense and more.
Alex and I talk about some other Monday free agency happenings from around the NFL and then get into what the Steelers might do moving forward into these next few days.
