In this week's episode, Peyton Smith and Greg Puskuldjian join Greg at the Stripe, the two newest faceoff specialists in the PLL. Being the only faceoff specialist selected in this year's college draft, Peyton Smith feels primed and ready for the Championship Series. Although he will be facing off with some of the best players in the world, he’s used to being an underdog and relishes in proving people wrong. Hailing from Raleigh North Carolina, Peyton has always played with a chip on his shoulder after being overlooked by Division 1 schools simply because he was from the south. To counter that, Smith has sent his offseason training into overdrive and packed on healthy weight knowing he will need incredible strength facing off with the Redwoods first four opponents in group play, especially with a condensed training camp.
No stranger to professional lacrosse, Greg Puskuldjian is looking forward to not only being reunited with so many of his friends and former teammates but also his college coach, Nat St. Laurent. Greg says playing with the PLL faceoff rules will be an adjustment but it’s nothing he can't handle. All eyes will be on these two PLL rookies heading into the championship series as the Redwoods are the only PLL team to have fresh faces at the stripe. Gruenlian is coining them the underdogs with all the talent in the world and he’s excited to watch them shock some people during the Championship Series.
Greg Gurenlian, widely considered the greatest faceoff man of all time, has traded in his pads for a mic this summer. Leveraging his experience on the field, coaching expertise and media savvy, Gurenlian will bring a new era of coverage to the position that he’s helped pioneer. In The Stripe, Greg will chat with the top faceoff athletes in the sport, breakdown matchups, and analyze game performances.
