We begin the episode with Vikki and Marshall having their own private yoga session. Marshall has fallen asleep, and they have a heart to heart about Marshall's recent troubles. Vikki is very wise and understanding, and gives Marshall good advice. The scene ends with a fun joke.

Meanwhile, at the Daily Grind, Link is forcing Dallas to confess and apologize for stealing the toilet paper. We discover that Dallas has been stealing it to make his incredible cosplay.

We discuss the unhealthiness of Link and Dallas' relationship and the difficulties of being both a teenager who lost his dad and an adult trying to fill that gap. Dee, who is a more compassionate outsider, makes Dallas an offer that shocks his (spoiled?) self.

Purple Hyacinth 105, Season 2 Finale: Final Flight (with Bundin, Emma, and Fwoot) Aug 17, 2021

With minutes left to the bomb, Lauren panics, envisioning Kym and Will dead, just as everyone died at the ATST.

As the blood of the PS member spreads, Kieran launches himself at the door, trying to shove it open. Lauren contemplates defusing the bomb, but can't, and they can't communicate with the bomb squad either.

Together, they try slamming the door down, but are unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the APD is evacuating the surroundings. We learn that Will refused to leave without Kym, and Kym hopes that Lauren is safe. But Lauren is still slamming herself at the door with Kieran, her vision blurring out, until they realize the futility.

They slouch down together against the wall, where Lauren reaches out to hold Kieran's hand (!) and tells him she is glad she met him (!!).

Kieran responds in kind, and when he sees Lauren's distress at dying, pulls her in for a hug (!!!). When he feels her hand trembling atop his, he turns his hand to hold hers.

While Lauren is nestled against him, Kieran, sensing the end, is about to make a confession. But we never find out what the confession is, as Lauren spots the vents and decides to run through them, holding the bomb with 5 minutes left.

Outside, Will and Kym are reunited, but the good news is short. Someone spots Lune coming out of a vent and notifies a very distressed looking Tristan. Kym and Lauren manage to share a glance in each other's eyes. Someone (Kieran?) notices that this is the wing where the PS was throwing nitro bottles (aka tunnel location).

With 5 seconds left, Kym rushes towards the building, but it explodes in a fury of flame and debris. Kym calls out for Lauren and tries to run to the building, but Will stops her midscream, wisely protecting them both. Kym buckles to her knees, sobbing in grief, Will protectively holding his arm around her. We see a panel of Kieran's knife and Lauren's gun, scattered on the floor, eerily reminiscent of Dylan's hat.

And through Lauren's semi-closed eyelids, looking out on the flames from a sprawled position on the floor, we see young Dylan, walking through the chaos, leaning down and calling out to her, "Ren? Where are you going?"

Is it a hallucination? Is it Sandman coming to rescue her? Did they manage to escape into the tunnels? Will they use this to stage their own deaths? Will Kieran and Lauren be outed as Lune? Will thinking that Lauren and Kieran are dead spur an awakening in Will and Bella?

So many mysteries waiting to be answered in Season 3!

Midnight Poppy Land 70: It's Woodchipper Time (with Girl Wonder) Aug 14, 2021

After rushing to Moonbright, Poppy is stuck with no money, phone, or way of getting around - whoops. She considers turning to family and friends, but Moonbright is way too small to take those options.

She is finally reminded of her scooter, though, and we finally receive some closure as to what happened to it! She picks it up from Darleen's garage, and we are all delighted to see a reference to our resident thirsty meme maker.

Suddenly, out of the blue, Julri appears. He opens with ostensible concern, but as soon as Poppy demonstrates that she doesn't need him, he launches straight into a personal attack, showing his insecurity and extreme gaslighting. WE ARE GOING TO KILL HIM.

Meanwhile, Tora is on the phone with Quincy, searching for Poppy. We contrast his concern with her emotional well being to Julri's complete lack thereof. While searching, he comes across the place where Goliath went missing. Will he search it now, later?

Back at the garage, Poppy yells back at Julri, with difficulty, but Julri just continues his manipulative half truths, knowing how to wound Poppy where it hurts the most. Poppy's final statement shows how she is really, truly over him, and Julri can't stand that.

We end the scene with Tora's car screeching to a halt at the garage. Are they still there? Will we have the Tora/Julri confrontation so many have wished for, or will Poppy handle it all herself?

Charles does, indeed, enter Sam's apartment, whereupon he proceeds with further innuendos by offering to help Sam change. He teases her, but correctly realizes that she is disappointed that he won't undress her.

When Sam buries her face in his chest once again, Charles worries that it genuinely bothers her, and in typical gentlemanly fashion, offers to stop.

And turns out he himself has to stop, since the thoughts of what they did that morning are too much for him. And he also has Sam in mind, since he wants to build up her confidence.

We discuss Charles' discomfort with emotional closeness, and how the current mentor/mentee dynamic between them may change once Sam does build up her confidence, throwing them off balance.

He abruptly departs, leaving Sam alone with her thoughts and feelings.

Earlier, and not exactly relevantly to this episode, we discuss Marshall and Monica and how couples are attracted to each other for not only complementary strengths but also complementary weaknesses.

Purple Hyacinth 104: Time Tomb (with Fwoot and Ocean) Aug 10, 2021

Kieran, at the edge of losing his strength, stops the PS members throwing nitro bomb from the roof. He also discovers the tunnels - TUNNEL THEORY!!! - and thinks they may use it as a way out.

Lauren limps towards him, almost blacking out, but still managing to exchange insults. Their levity is soured, however, by the message they hear over the PS radio: the basement is about to explode.

Lauren's trauma response is triggered and she nearly has a panic attack, remembering the ATST and envisioning what could happen to her friends. To pull herself out of it, she uses extreme pain and jams her gun into her wound.

Kieran is shocked, understanding, and admiring, and together, supporting each other, they head down to try to stop it.

Lauren sees an APD member and tries to warn him, but her warning only ends up with the APD officer dead. Kieran uses his body as a shield and grabs his radio, using it to warn Tristan of the impending danger.

When they reach the basement, they discover the last PS member and a time bomb, and a tragic event shows them that this is really down to the wire.

Purple Hyacinth 103: Familiar Feeling (with Fwoot and Ocean) Aug 03, 2021

Lauren tries to get to the roof but is attacked by Birdbrain (the Messenger).They both use their ninja skills (circus skills?) on the catwalk, landing up on the roof, where Birdbrain chokes Lauren and grinds their knee into Lauren's wound. We speculate as to the identity of the Messenger- Rafael? Athena? Someone who know and dislikes Lauren personally?

Kym sees this going on and using the superhuman strength reserved to people in situations of extreme duress, manages to extricate herself from under the debris, just in time to save the day for Lauren.

The Messenger, however, even while slipping, manages to overbalance Kym and... throw her off the roof. At the last minute, Lauren rescues Kym- twice- and pulls her into a bear hug, crying. Kym flashes back to all the other hugs they've shared, realizing that this is certainly Lauren. She tells her to go before she gets arrested, and Lauren escapes.
