Executive Producer: Monisha Iswaran Audio & Video Producer: Michael Kean Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast. You're listening to a MoMA mea podcast from Mamma Mia. Welcome to this spill your daily pop culture fix. I'm Laura Brandy and I'm Vernon, and welcome to Weekend Weekend, where we talk about the best new TV shows and movies that have just dropped this week. Although this week we have two movie recommendations for you to Buzzy movie recommendation. 00:31Speaker 2 Sorry, we need to correct that we have a movie and a half recommendation. 00:34Speaker 1 Okay, I'm already off you for just saying that. A half recommendation Emily Treesman and what do you. 00:41Speaker 2 Mean, guys? I tried really hard. So the movie I'm recommending is called Apex. Yes, it is on Netflix and it stars Charlie Theron and Taron Egerton. This movie is a horror suspense movie in the wilderness. It is so scary. I've only watched half of it. 01:03Speaker 1 Are you serious? 01:04Speaker 2 It's so scared. 01:05Speaker 1 It's okay, But also I just want people to take that with a grade of salt, because you're a scared cat. 01:09Speaker 2 I'm like, you're easily scared, easily scared, but this one just reached a whole new level. 01:15Speaker 1 I don't know what it is. 01:16Speaker 2 Maybe it's a type of horror that I am scared of, which I've only just established from watching this movie. Anyway, I'll let you know what the movie is about. 01:24Speaker 1 Please do so. 01:25Speaker 2 Charlie's Theron plays. This happens in the first few minutes of the film, so I feel like I can say, ye say it. She's like an adrenaline junkie. Yeah, she's like loves rock climbing. She's like one of those dar devil kind of people. And both her and her partner are in the like early early stages of the movie, so this is not a spoiler. They're climbing up this mountain and he falls to his death. 01:46Speaker 1 Okay, just so you know, every climbing adventure movie starts like that. 01:50Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah, yeah, it sets up her as a person. 01:53Speaker 1 Yeah, exactly every movie I've watched about people being like dare devil junkies climbing blah blah blah. Yeah, like for that movie where they're it's on top of the tower and there has to climb up death at the start. Also, yeah, every every kind of climber, you have to. 02:05Speaker 2 Figure out the main character's purpose. 02:07Speaker 1 Yeah, you need to know the steaks straight away. Because all of a sudden, you're just like, this is so dangerous, people are gonna diet. It makes you And also, can I say nothing is more terrifying than watching on screen someone accidentally fall to their death because you can feel it. I don't find it like a like a like my hands. And it's the type of the it's the type of horror that I can't get around. Yeah, it is so scary because it's so rare. You're so worried that one day you might And you famously don't love the outdoors. You don't love activities, You don't love anything that would put you at a great height. 02:35Speaker 2 Why why hate nature? 02:36Speaker 1 Yeah no, why not famously hate nature? Hate adventures? So why do you think you'd find yourself in the situation that you would be climbing a great like mountain or something. 02:45Speaker 2 I'll tell you why, because this movie is set in the blue mountains. 02:48Speaker 1 Yeah, it's way to Also, if she was doing it with her partner, you're like, of course that's gonna happen to you. If you go on a date with someone that let's go climb a mountain, You're like, okay. 02:58Speaker 2 God, you'll never catch me with someone like that. 03:01Speaker 1 Oh see, I think it'd be a fun day. 03:02Speaker 2 I can immediately suss out on dating apps who the adrenaline junkies are in the men that I match with, and it's an immediate I can't shite past s, white past I can't do it. I can't do it. I am not an adventurous woman. 03:14Speaker 1 So this is set in the Blue Mountains, right, And can I just say, we're only just getting over Australia's like pr problem of the whole Wolf Creek situation where for years people were just like because obviously that's about that's based on a true story of a man in the outback who hunted and killed backpackers and those movies and the TV show are so gruesome. 03:32Speaker 2 Well I think they learned from that. So it's not actually like mentioned that it is the Blue mass if they made up like some fictional like national park. But it was very it's very clearly the Blue Mountains, and we all know that they filmed in the Blue Mountains. 03:45Speaker 1 People know it's in Australia. 03:46Speaker 2 Yes, it's very because Taron Egerton has a very Bogan accent and it's a very well done Bogen action. 03:53Speaker 1 We we love a stereotype when it hits. 03:55Speaker 2 Yes, it is, that's what it works so good, to the point where I was like, I forgot he was Australian. Then I was like, but he's not. He's very British. It's very British man anyway. So yeah, Charlie's husband dies. She now goes traveling to Australia to do this like long long nature walk. It's giving Wild, Yeah, it's giving cake. 04:16Speaker 1 It's giving Reese with a spoon, like trudging along a long. 04:19Speaker 2 Path with a backpack, except a man is hunting her. 04:22Speaker 1 Yeah, and you know what, Wild could have used that infusion of a bit of drama. 04:26Speaker 2 It's like, let's hurry it up, let's speed it on, walk faster Reese. So it's basically about Charlie. He's like going through the Blue Mountains while being hunted by a man, hence Apex. It is so scary because it's so real. 04:41Speaker 1 Oh okay, it just feels real, Yeah, because the fantasy element or anything like that to it, Like it's just an evil man doing evil thing, and it's all about. 04:50Speaker 2 Like women like exploring on their own and how are reminded that we can't do that? 04:54Speaker 1 Oh okay, well yeah, exactly that's everyone's biggest fear when they go out on these things. It's like, again, I love that. 04:59Speaker 2 I can't even walk to me corner shop at nine pm because you're so scared. This movie has blindlessly the spirit. 05:04Speaker 1 A woman is literally out in nature by herself, doing dangerous things, and the most dangerous thing is still a miss, it's still a man. Well that you should have just got a bear in there and called it a day. 05:14Speaker 2 The bear would have actually helped her movie Cocaine bear. That would have been a great bed to have. Anyway, It's so scary, but it's so good. And the filming of the actual like scenes of like the walkthrough of the bush and like her in the river and like getting like thrown over in the kayak is like so like so scary. It's so so well done. It doesn't feel any like it's a proper film. It's not like anything cgi at all. It's just done really well. Her acting is amazing. His acting is amazing. We already would have known that. But it's just one of those movies if you are like an adrenaline junkie or you love like that kind of like suspense horror of like will he catch her. Won't he catch her? 05:54Speaker 1 Then? 05:54Speaker 2 This is like the kind of movie for you. You're on the edge of your seat. You're like sweating through the whole thing. 05:58Speaker 1 And how shary, isn't it? Because she's a good action stuff. 06:01Speaker 2 She is so good. She comes across like the good thing about her being in this film is that it's not I feel like if it was a different actress, that could have gone the way of like the poor woman can't get away, Like she's so small and fragile, she can't escape this. She comes across as like a badass in this film, Like it's not like Damsel in distress. It's very much like you can do it, you can make it out like she's so strong. I think that's also the premise of the film. And in that beginning scene, you know she is like well experienced in this world. So it's nothing like, oh my god, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to fire a gun, I don't know what to do. It's like very much like she can do this, she can do this. We're backing her. She's gonna win, okay. Taron Egerton so scary. 06:40Speaker 1 So scary. That's complicated for you because you love. 06:44Speaker 2 Him, she's so and he's like been in an Australia bondai watching the paparazzi photos, pretending it's. 06:50Speaker 1 Filming or horror. Okay, so apex on Netflix. Someone please watch the movie and then tell scaredy Cat Emily the ending. 06:58Speaker 2 Oh my god, yes, and tell me where if you can. I'm not wearing the Blue Mountains. I did the filming. I don't want to go there. 07:02Speaker 1 Don't you want to go there and take a picture. 07:04Speaker 2 I don't want to avoid that. They at all casts. 07:07Speaker 1 Okay. I can't believe this day has finally come. The build up to this for years. But also I feel like I have been living this movie the last month or so, at least because I traveled overseas into the cast. I've written multiple articles about it, We've released multiple videos and podcasts. And what will I do with my life? 07:28Speaker 2 It is that true? What? What are your plans? I don't know. 07:30Speaker 1 There's just darkness. There's just dark. 07:32Speaker 2 Take up a hobby, maybe go go bushwalking in the Blue Mountains. 07:35Speaker 1 I call you. I'm like, okay, I tried to be Telly's throw and I'm hanging from a mountain. What do I do of course, I'm talking about the fact that the devil weares prior to to is finally in cinemas. 07:48Speaker 2 You are here to help us through our current scandal, but I did not hire you, and all I need to do is my time until you've failed what you check the train do. 07:59Speaker 1 I'm going to make something of this job. You could write a book, The Definitive Miranda Priestley Expose Sindy. We did that. 08:08Speaker 2 The Brunello Cucinelli pants. Love those, and you definitely need an embroidered two piece to tam set, but not the terra cotta. Because you're so pale. 08:20Speaker 1 So. 08:22Speaker 2 Jealous that you watch it, I have such fomo. If you've listened to our episode where we talked about your interviews, I said I was saving to watch it with my mum, which I'm doing this Sunday. It's only a few days away. I was so jealous because you and a lot of the team got to watch it. You went to the Sydney premiere for it. Was it on the Tuesday, Yes, it was on the Tuesdays. 08:44Speaker 1 It was the very fans. 08:45Speaker 2 This has been a very long week for me space It's. 08:47Speaker 1 Been a lot. Yes, it was very fancy premiere at the State Theater. It was all done with the iconic red Devil Wears shoe. The champagne was flowing. They had like Devil Wears prior to like customized coke can give back some. 08:59Speaker 2 Of you didn't bring me back? 09:00Speaker 1 Oh my god, actually said, I didn't break myself back. But actually I'm why. I'm really sad that you're there. Just as a quick note is that you know how normally at the State Theater to line up, you line up along the street and it's chaos. And this time I was like, oh, there's no line, this is great. No, the line was down a back alleyway, so every person moved there and I saw like really famous people, like people have had huge TV shows overseas, like Australian influences, like Australian actorssh stars. No, I didn't see Practice Brummel here, who's obviously in the movie. No, No, I'm assuming that they didn't make him. We had to go all line up at an alleyway and at one point you're standing next to bins and barbed wire, and I was like, our jobs are so bad. 09:38Speaker 2 As Miranda would have won it. 09:39Speaker 1 Yeah, exactly, I have everyone being like this is us at the Devil was problem. No, it was so fun to see in a cinema because obviously, despite the fact that I interviewed the cast, I've written about it and done all these podcasts, I hadn't actually seen the full movie until that night because it was kept under lock and key. So now that I've seen the full thing. 09:55Speaker 2 I'm like, God, do you think I love it? Did you love it? 09:58Speaker 1 I liked it so and that's really high praise love. No, no, no, I loved I loved parts of it. I'm not even exaggerating, Like, here's the thing about the Devil weares prior too so so much to say. So it does pick up twenty years after the original, and again this is this is spoiler free because Emily hasn't seen it. I wouldn't do that to you, so don't you guys worry. So obviously we find Andy Sack. She's back in New York. She looks at the fact that she's been living overseas for many years and she's fulfilled her dream of becoming a serious journalist. But then that job gets ripped away from her and I won't say why, but it's very upsetting and sad. And also can I just say PSA to anyone who works in the media industry, This movie is very sober. You're like, oh, I should find another job just in something, but I have no other skills. 10:43Speaker 2 This is the one thing. 10:44Speaker 1 What do I do? So there's that. And at the same time, Miranda is still at Runway Magazine where she is the editor in chief, but she's up for a really big promotion. But the promotion yeah to like with a lives Clark, which is the publishing house, Like still be at Runway, but be like a drive kind of like how Adam Wintaur is now like still the Bosses, but now the overseeral of all the Conde Nast kind of products and things. But then a huge scandal breaks and Miranda and Runway face cancelation and also what will become of her promotion? Yeah, s…

Executive Producer: Monisha Iswaran Audio & Video Producer: Michael Kean Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast. From Mama Mia. Welcome to the Spill your daily pop culture fix. I'm Laura Brednick and I'm nam And on the show today. The new Michael Jackson movie has been dominating the box office, but reviews are very split between critics and fans, and you and I have some very strong thoughts out this that we're going to bring to the podcast, so strap in for that. Plus, Taylor sit has given a very lengthy interview to The New York Times, which is always interesting because one that girl does not need to do interviews. She's doing the most right now she always So we're going to go through the biggest reveals from the interview and what the headlines are saying, because there's lots to unpacked there. But first, I want to tell you about a new movie trailer that came out just late last night. I do believe when I was scrolling in bed ooh yeah. 00:49Speaker 2 Sexy, Like is it like a movie you think I'd enjoy? 00:52Speaker 1 I think you and I will be front and center at the cinema when this comes out, because we love a rom com. This is a new rom com and it's what I've been asking for. It's rom com with like super talented Academy Award winning leads in the movie. Wow, but there's I just want to just the premise kind of made me stop for a second because I hadn't heard about this movie until I saw the trailer, and then I thought, hmm, so the premise is, and tell me if you're into this, the premise is, what if the movie The Purge was a rom com? Do you know what the Purge is? Have you seen The Purge and all the Purge sequels? 01:29Speaker 2 Not the sequels? 01:30Speaker 1 Yeah, stopped one. You're like, I've purged enough? Yeah, that's enough Purge. I try to see all the Purge, like the first Purge, how the Purge started, Let's purchase some more. Those aren't the official titles, but get Purge, Get Purged, Purge and get out of here all the sequels. So if anyone who hasn't seen The Purge, I think I know. Actually what trailer you're talking about? Yeah, I think I saw it. Yeah, it's been bopping around. So can I say the movie isn't officially associated with the Purge? I just made that connection when I saw it. I know what I mean. This is a rom com Urge. It's purgees I'm not against, but I'm I so want to know if someone sat down to watch The Purge and was like, what if this was a meet cute? Which, again, if anyone hasn't seen The Purge, the premise of the film is that in order to stop crime, there's one night of the year in America where the film is set, where all crime is legal for a certain period of time, So no. 02:22Speaker 3 Crime is legal and any other day of the year except for this one night, and it's all crime. So it's a lot of murder, yeah, a lot of breaking and entry, yeah, exactly, very scary exactly. 02:32Speaker 1 So it's like, you want to kill your neighbor, there's a night to do that. You want to stab a X or your current partner, there's a night to do that. You want to launder money, that's fine, and so that's and like it's like, so you either go out and you try and be part of the Purge and like kill people and commit crime, or you stay at home. This new movie One Night Only takes that premise and says, what if there was only one night? It's at New York City because that's where all good rom comms take place. What if there was only one night of the year that pre marital sex was legal for single people. 03:04Speaker 2 By the Catholic Church. 03:06Speaker 1 Oh yeah, the popes are producer. He got together with the Perch team and they're like, let's crack out something beautiful. Let's do a collab. A colass that's so dark. So the premise is that, yeah, you know what, unless you're married, you can't hook up with anyone, no sex of any any kind, except for one day. What would you do? Became a free time. They're gonna have Oh my god, so many hot you take up crocheting and watercolor. Yes, I love that. I'm gonna say every in the background of this movie, you did look super like put together and well rested. I'm like, that's because the nights are free. So the idea is like one night of the year you can go out and hook up with whoever you want. And a lot of people use that in the movie is like their night. Some people just use it as a night for wild sex, which fair enough, and the rest some other people use as a night to like find their soulate because I want to hook up. Well, they get married, so that's the thing. So starring in this movie is Monica Barbara. Do you know who that is? I know who she is. Yeah, she was in that movie. We loved that Timothy Shalla main movie. No, that's me. 04:11Speaker 3 No, but I know her from what was that TV show that I recommended for a week in watch that? 04:17Speaker 1 I don't know, let's start Arnold schwartz Nager. That's a you recommendation and like it was just all action flubah. I can't help you out there, Fuba, I think of Fuber. Yeah, she'snt that. I can't remembe all the incredible work this woman has done. That's what you picked out. 04:32Speaker 2 Yeah, and that's the best thing she's been in. 04:34Speaker 1 Because she was also on top gun Maverick she yees who the girl, the one girl, the one girl. 04:40Speaker 3 Oh and she was like the one who like the only one who made like who had a problem with her playing? 04:44Speaker 1 Yeah, because Tom Cruise is like it has to be the girl. Oh my god, I had not put that together to bear the girl who goes down? Yeah, exactly because I can't play Wow, Tom cruiseher hook up with the Purge producers. 04:55Speaker 2 He'd love this. 04:57Speaker 1 And also a young man by the name of cal who American accent in this. Yes, he does so who some people call mister Juwa Liipa because they're getting married. But also he was in Eternity, which was my favorite movie of last year. 05:11Speaker 3 Which was also an interesting rom com with like a twist and the big take. 05:15Speaker 1 I love that Callum Turner, who everyone's like, no, no, he's a serious British actor. He's now like, you know what I'm gonna do is lead rom coms? 05:22Speaker 3 Yes, and Dully has to do that before he becomes the next Bond for like ten years. 05:27Speaker 1 Yeah, and then he can't do anything else. Also, the cast this movie is so interesting, so my Hawk and Julia Fox is in it and z Way by the way, which is so. But also Molly Ringwold, Oh do you know who that is? Did we talk about her? 05:39Speaker 2 No, I'm thinking of someone else. 05:40Speaker 1 No. Molly Ringwold in the I Believe the eighties was like the rom com like Pretty in Pink, all those kind of rom coms. She was like the leading lady. I'm trying to put it so she's like, no, no, if you saw her red hair, you would know her. She was in every iconic sixteen candles Pretty in Pink. 06:00Speaker 2 Oh yeah, oh my god. 06:03Speaker 1 But she's in this, Yeah, because it's important if you're bringing wrong cooms back that the original rom com girl is in there. Oh my god, she's so she was in the Breakfast Club. Yes, and the Breakfast Club like I name all her iconic a. So basically it's Callum Turner and Monica Babaro and they are bout two singles out on this one nine and they meet, but then a series events prevents them as the movie goes on, from hooking up and having sex. But yeah, yeah, I mean if I had a dollar. But also it's like the clock is ticking. So I was watching this trail like Giving Cinderella. I was watching this trail like a thriller. I was like, what's gonna happen next that's gonna prevent them from and when do they start dying? Yeah? Yeah, exactly. How funny for the end like Seaway comes in or someone Molly Ringworld comes in like an at it's actually in the Purge universe. It's like an easter eg Purge movie where you didn't realize it was part of it. It just gotta be thinking though, like what other horror movies do we need to be wrong comms? Like does someone reimagine? Does someone reimagine? Halloween? Is like, he was just a girl who murdered his sister. She was a babysitter. Oh my god, Halloween night. They come together and the mask comes off. A love story Halloween is there something like or scream. It's like he's calling on the phone, but he's actually calling to tell you he likes you, and that's why he has to disguise his voice. Oh my god. It's like there's all these horror movies like, oh. 07:23Speaker 3 Like The Grudge, but it's actually like a merge of like under the Tuscan Sun. She goes to Japan to find this life and build this new house. 07:34Speaker 1 That's just like a little boy living she has to look after. Sorry, what do I want to watch that movie? Should we write movies? I think we should write movies. She's going past the Grudge House and it's so dark and terrified. She's like, just like I need to rebuild this and then she falls in love with. 07:53Speaker 3 Trying to get rid of it, like everyone keeps dying, and she's like, I need to rebuild this house. 07:57Speaker 1 And it's just a montage of her redoing the house, and then she falls in love with the Grudge Ghost, what's beautiful? I like this well, I love this new thing. We keep saying rom coms need to come back. That's so true, and I think this is how we bring them back. We merged them with horror movies. Let's start a fan fiction. But like for rom com slash horror. Absolutely so one night only. I'm excited. 08:18Speaker 2 It's going to be so good. 08:21Speaker 3 So there is a film that's currently in cinemas right now and we have been seeing a lot of mixed reviews on It's called Michael. I mean, if you listen to the intro, you know what movie I. 08:33Speaker 1 Did give that away. 08:33Speaker 3 It's called Michael, and it's a biography on the life of Michael Jackson. So it covers his rise to fame as being the biggest pop star in history. The film covers his career from the nineteen sixties, starting off with the Jackson five to the late nineteen eighties where he ends on his bad tour like album bad. It wasn't a bad tour. It was a pretty good tour from what I've heard it. 08:57Speaker 1 How do you keepel like clarifying, Yeah, a bad tour and like bad bad. 09:03Speaker 3 Oh man, they're the song The song bad. It has a huge cast. So Michael is played by Jaffa Jackson, who was also Michael's nephew. His dad, Joe Jackson is played by colemen Domingo, Mike mis isn't it, Miles Teller, isn't it? It's a massive, massive cast. We personally haven't seen the film. From what I've heard by people who went to the screening, a lot of people loved this film. 09:27Speaker 1 Yeah, I've been seeing like so many people come to me and tell me about movies they've seen which I love. And so many people have said to me that they loved this movie that they were like, like, you know, crying, they were overcome with emotion. I've seen people posting that they're going to go see it again two times, three times to experience in the cinema. And that's also what the box office is telling us, like it's gone crazy well at the box office. It's become like the highest grossing musical bio pick of all time. Even when the trailer came out over a year ago. It's shattered records for a musical biopic trailer and became one of the most watched trailers in Studio's history. For Lionsgate, which is huge because they've released so many blockbusters. Like the fans are telling us that they're obsessed and like they're willing to pay for three movie tickets, which is crazy at a time when like it's hard to get people into a cinema. Yeah. 10:13Speaker 3 One, and from what I've heard what the actual film is about. It's labeled as a biography, but it is a very fun film. Like I heard, the music is amazing, like Jaffar's portrayal of Michael Jackson is amazing. The hard parts I'm assuming that people are crying at is it does depict the emotional and physical abuse he went as a child by his father that was played by but. 10:38Speaker 1 I think crying from like happiness is what I've seen the music because they love the music and seeing us. 10:44Speaker 3 Yeah, it was also sanctioned by the Michael Jackson estate. 10:49Speaker 1 So the Michael Jackson estate paid for a lot of it, right, well, they paid for the reshoots that had to happen. And then obviously his family is super involved, not just his nephew being in the starring role, but his Michael Jackson son Prince, his executive producer, along with all his brothers. It's only really Paris Jackson, his daughter right that has spoken out against it. 11:08Speaker 3 He has spoken out against it. And also his sister Janet Jackson didn't give the rights to her likeliness in the film either, so her car like there's no Janet Jackson in the film or portrayal of Janet Jackson in the film. 11:20Speaker 1 But what you mentioned. 11:21Speaker 3 Before with the reshoot, so the original script started to be looked through around twenty twenty three, with the film being greenlet in twenty twenty five. Like coming to our screens, it was meant to come to our screens last year, and it's been reported that the original script included a storyline that actually happened in nineteen ninety three. So now this movie finishes in nineteen ninety eight, which is when the tour happened. 11:44Speaker 2 It was actually meant to. 11:45Speaker 3 Contin…

You're listening to I'm Mom with mea podcast.

    00:17Speaker 2

Good Morning Angels, Happy almost Friday. You've nearly made it through the week and you deserve a cheeky treat. I'm I Sondon and.

    00:23Speaker 1

I've got a cracky mix for you.

    00:25Speaker 2

Today, We've got a surprisingly touching story about Tristan Thompson and his brother. Shannon Elizabeth from American Pie has joined OnlyFans and their numbers are staggering. Kevin Hart has been roasting a listers and his Timothy Shallow may take He's sending me and tell us. We have sat down with The New York Times for gorgeous, insightful chat about the art of songwriting.

    00:46Speaker 1

Happy Thursday, baby, Let's crack it.

    00:48Speaker 2

Tristan Thompson has filed for a limited conservatorship over his nineteen year old brother, Amari, who has an intellectual.

    00:55Speaker 1

    Disability and developmental delay.

    00:57Speaker 2

Amar has been diagnosed with Lennox guest Dot syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy causing frequent seizures and requiring constant medical supervision. Tristan previously held guardianship of Amari after their mother, Andrea passed away in twenty twenty three. Now that a Mari's turned nineteen, the conservativeship is required to continue that legal oversight into adulthood. And here's the part that got me. Because of Tristan's NBA travel schedule, it's been Chloe Kardashian, his ex who has taken on day to day caregiving, keeping Amari in LA with full time cares. She said she made that commitment out of her love for Andrea, who was one of her closest friends, and that her care for Amri has nothing to do with Tristan and everything to do with his mum. I said it before, I'll say it again. Chloe's a queen who deserves only the very best of life and.

    01:45Speaker 1

    All the things.

    01:46Speaker 2

Next up, shouted Elizabeth, who played Nadia, the exchange student in American Pie, has joined Onlyfan and she's made an absolutely jaw dropping.

    01:53Speaker 1

Amount of money in a very short time.

    01:56Speaker 2

She launched her page on April sixteen, and in her first week alone, she surpassed one point two million US dollars in earnings. But here's a clincher. She ain't getting naked. It's just photos of her being her unscripted self. Must be nice, she explained her reasoning perfectly. She said I've spent my entire career in Hollywood, where other people control the narrative in the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, creating on.

    02:19Speaker 1

My own terms, and just being free.

    02:21Speaker 2

She's now fifty two, listen in South Africa and works in conservation.

    02:25Speaker 1

She's saving the world and making a million bucks. Get a girl.

    02:28Speaker 2

Stick around when we return. Kevin Hart has been roasting half of Hollywood. Taylor Sweat has opened up to The New York Times by the art of songwriting and something for all you.

    02:37Speaker 1

They ever wears Pride of Fans. Welcome back to Morning Tea.

    02:42Speaker 2

Kevin Hart has sat down with Alex Cooper on Call of Daddy, added his Netflix roast special airing May ten, and Alex handed in note cards with celebrity names for rapid fire roasts. On Timothy Shallomey, he said the body of a German woman on Nick Cannon, a sperm diffuser on Patrick Mahomes, a voice that doesn't go of his body on Elon Muski launched into a full physical impression, calling him the Glitcher. But my favorite moment was when Alex asked him about Robert Pattinson, who he called Robert Pattison and then announced here was Team Jacob Steell Kevin Hardest, Team.

    03:13Speaker 1

    Jacob I died.

    03:14Speaker 2

The New York Times magazine pold more than two hundred and fifty music insiders to name the thirty greatest living American songwriters. Taylor Swift made the list, obviously, and sat down with the Time for a thirty minute interview about songwriting that I could have listened to for three hours. She talks about the intensity of love and young love between the ages of seventeen and twenty two and how that period produced some of the most deeply felt, honest lyrics of her career and when we think about it, fearless speak now read a girl feeling everything at full volume and having the genius.

    03:43Speaker 1

To write it all down. Man, she is right.

    03:45Speaker 2

She then addresses her fan basis, and what I love about this is that this is kind of Teller's web of saying, I know, I know exactly who my fans are. I know there are a lot, and this is how I've learned to exist alongside her.

    03:56Speaker 3

I have to know that there's certain things that we have as a trader between me and my fans.

    04:01Speaker 4

They love for an emotional song to be track five.

    04:03Speaker 3

There's like special things like that, But at the same time, there's sort of so many of them now, which is great, But there's corners of my fan base who are going to take things to a really extreme place.

    04:18Speaker 4

There's nothing I can do about that.

    04:20Speaker 3

There's people who are going to try to like do detective work, figure out the details.

    04:25Speaker 4

Who is that about? What is this?

    04:26Speaker 3

When it gets a little bit weird for me is when people act like it's sort of like a paternity test, like this song's about that person, because I'm like, that dude didn't write the song I did.

    04:37Speaker 2

She also talked about uli Well the ten minute vision, one of my favorite songs of all time, and how that extended vision only exists because her fans refused to let it go.

    04:46Speaker 4

We were rehearsing for the Speak Now tour.

    04:49Speaker 3

I was very sad in a way that you know, you're like, you're like twenty one years old, and you're just like excruciatingly just like you are. Sadness is you? You are sadness. I just in the break, I just started playing the same four chords over and over again. It's basically the same four chords over and over again for the whole song, and it just became this thing where I just started rambling, and this thing went on for a really, really long time. It was like more than ten minutes that this rambling rant went on, and it wasn't cohesive and it wasn't really that structured, but it felt afterward like I think my mom or somebody went up to the sound guy was like, did you write any chance record any of that?

    05:31Speaker 4

And he was like, yeah, I did. And I would have walked away from it if he didn't have a recording of it. So I went.

    05:36Speaker 3

Back and listened to it, and I was like, oh, here's this ten minute like basically catharsis of intense emotion, Like there are some really angry, scathing parts that I was like, kind of going to have to make this into a song that's a little bit more palatable.

    05:53Speaker 2

So he releases the palatable version. The fans there's more. They hassle he over the full ten minute version for years. She seems the audio she's looking involved safe daries, and in the end she has to piece it all back together. The full interview is live on the New York Times website, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

    06:09Speaker 1

Love You Taytay Forever and hour.

    06:12Speaker 2

And finally, Devil wes Prid of fans, Mamma may have created a brand new quiz to test your knowledge of the cult classic and we're talking first film only, so no need to have seen number two to get involved. I scored sixty six percent and I'm a fan, so give it a go and see if you can beat me.

We unpack whether the internet's take down of Barry was called for or did the pile-on go too far.And finally, the trailer for the new Colleen Hoover adaptation is here and it’s reignited a debate about one of our most iconic leading ladies. We unpack why the "Hatha-hate" narrative is resurfacing in 2026 and question why society is still so quick to turn on women at the height of their success (plus Laura spills on what Anne is actually like behind closed doors).Love binge-watching TV? Executive Producer: Monisha Iswaran Audio & Video Producer: Michael Kean Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast. From Mamma Mia. Welcome to the Spill your daily pop culture fix. I'm Laura Brodney. 00:06Speaker 2 And I'm Tina Probus and coming up on the show today, poor little Barry Kerrigan has given a bit of a tell interview to Benny Blanco about why he had to escape Hollywood even though he's in the midst of filming one of the biggest movie franchises that is going to hit our screens in the coming years. 00:22Speaker 1 So we're getting into that because there's a few layers, there's a few secret videos. 00:26Speaker 3 I'm glad you said his name first. From here and out, he would just be Barry. 00:29Speaker 1 Yeah, let's just pull that young young or Baz, because the thing is when he says his name, we's got such an irish little to it. And I wouldn't dare. I wouldn't dare trying to speak like that man. Plus, Anne Hathaway a new trailer for one of her highly anticipated movies, one of the five movie shows coming out this year has just dropped, and of course The Devil Wears prior to two is out this week. But it started a very uncomfortable conversation around her that we're gonna jump into. But first, some important breaking news, and no, it's not the fact that Laura Dern has been confirmed to replace Helena Bondum Carter on the White Lotus season, even though that was breaking news this morning. But we have something more important to discuss. 01:07Speaker 3 Yes, we are looking at what of Kate Hudson's X, which I personally am a fan of X. I think we should all be allowed to have something that we just draw as a boundary. It's okay to have boundaries. 01:18Speaker 1 Yes, So Kate Hudson, who I'm going to say, I love a Kate Hudson interview because that's the lovely thing about growing up as the golden child of a NEPO baby family is like that girl can say whatever she wants in the nicest way possible. So Kate Hudson went on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week because she's still doing promo for Running Point season two. If anyone hasn't seen that, it's on Netflix now. It's so, so, so good and she's so good in it. But one of the questions was about X, and you can see that she was like, I'm taking a stand. 01:47Speaker 3 What male behavior gives you an immediate ex Oh, oh oh, I have a Okay, I'm not this is this is going to go bad and I'm going to see it anyway and maybe headline It's fine, Okay. 02:00Speaker 1 I have a real issue with guys who like really lead with their spirituality in a in a way. 02:10Speaker 3 That you're like, why are you? I don't know, what are you doing? 02:13Speaker 1 Why am I? 02:15Speaker 3 I'm like it just immediately a red flag like something's off, yes, not right. Yeah, I have no issue with that. Thank you, Kate Hugs. 02:26Speaker 1 I love how much she had to carry out that, Like she's like, should I say it? Should I not say it? Should I speak on it? Should I? She's like, I know this is going to cause headlines. Like when I saw that, I like leant up in my seat. Yeah, what is this girl going to say? That's going to ignite these international headlines? And I'm gonna say it. Wasn't overly disappointed, Like I was not expecting her to say spirituality just because of who she is, everything we know about her for her entire life. 02:50Speaker 3 You know, surely she has someone very specific in mind. She was that one guy exactly. 02:55Speaker 1 I feel like there's a backstory here. Okay, First of all, what do you think of that as an it would that turn you off? 02:59Speaker 3 I guess in terms of spirituality, are we talking religion or more like woo woo? 03:04Speaker 1 I think in her case, I'm thinking like super woo woo. 03:07Speaker 3 I feel like both might put me a little bit off to leave with that, like it's not your whole personality. 03:13Speaker 1 Yeah, I think I think there's a bit of a backstory there we're not getting. But I can read between the lines is that this woman has been in the dating pool at many times of her life in a really specific place, like in the kind of Hollywood world of like La. She's been raised in that area, and I think what she has encountered is a lot of men who were also raised in this kind of rich, famous Hollywood kind of those echelons of they don't have they've never like confronted in their life. They've never had to think about what to do with their lives and so or like make money and all that sort of stuff. And so that type of man or person, to be honest, like men and women can do it is that they then start to sort of be like, well, what else is there? What they like grab on to this very intense form of spirituality and that's fine, but then they make it everyone else's probes. That's when Anti Cohen, I think, says. 04:04Speaker 3 Like saying it's douchey, I feel like doo sheey. It was probably definitely a subshot, and they lead with it. 04:09Speaker 1 When he said, oh, they lead with it, and she was like, yes, So it's the kind of guy that you go on a first date with. And I just like Kate Hudson sitting down and she's a good time girl, Like she seems so fun. 04:17Speaker 3 I love her. 04:18Speaker 1 She talks out the fact that she loves to like go out and have a drink and dance and like, you know, she's just a real fun person. And I think she said some of a guy who was like, let me tell you about my ten steps. 04:27Speaker 3 Which makes me interesting. 04:29Speaker 1 I never asked you one question. I think that's who she's talking about. 04:32Speaker 3 I agree. I think that's totally fair to lead with that. I also think, like for me, someone that this sounds bad, actually no saying it. 04:39Speaker 1 If Kate Hudson can take a stand, you can mind's worse. 04:42Speaker 3 I think, oh, you're well, this isn't my ick, but just someone that has a lot of goals, like men with lots of goals. Like I dated so On once and they had like a list on their wall of like their goals, And I kind of put that on par with like spiritual thing because it's probably too far. 04:58Speaker 1 I can just hear a bunch of really fragile mens screaming right now, like we can't win. The thing is if I had no goals like being there, I think leading with it is what she's saying, and that's what you're saying too, Like if he had mentioned you in a conversation like, oh, I really want to do this one day, what's one of your goals? I'm assuming that would be fine. 05:15Speaker 3 I think it's like having interests verse, you know, outlining like this is my way of life, and like assigning your whole personality to a spirituality verse like it organically coming up at a conversation. Yeah, so maybe it's the nuance to it exactly. 05:29Speaker 1 And I just feel like after a while, like Kate hasn't has said for herself, like she was in the dating pool for like a good thirty years there from when she was a teen, and she has dated a lot of really big Hollywood celebs, a lot of musicians as in like tortured kind of musicians, and she had children with like two different musicians who seem nice but kind of get the vibe of being like very much like me and me like my art, my music. And that woman has had access to like every kind of hot man in Hollywood, and she's ended up with her friend's brother who's like out of the Hollywood world. And I like, there's a lesson in that we should love for all of us that she looked away from. And she'd known this guy for years, Danny, and they have a kid. I love bought it together now and she was just like after a while that she just kind of realized it's him. It's my friend's brother who's like not famous at all. 06:13Speaker 3 What a movie on that? 06:14Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah movie. So anyway, she's taken a stand on the biggest ick, and like people have really reacted to it. Some people in the comments are like, yeah, this is my biggest ick too, and then some people like this is awful, what a terrible thing to say. But I just think, let the woman speak, turn you off the spirituality thing. I think what she's saying too, if it's the main topic of conversation, there's no one thing. If the person's right, I think it turns you off, but I know, I know so well the kind of cuy she's talking about, who would sit down and make the whole conversation about their spirituality and like if you don't agree with everything, they think that you're wrong and they're more enlightened than you, and they'd probably do yeah, exactly exactly, and like they do, and you're just like, just chill and tell me what TV show you're watching, Like I don't need to hear your ten step spirituality and why you're going to have And I'm going to burn in hell because where you're going I don't want to go. Sorry, it sounds bad. 07:05Speaker 3 For the past year, the internet has been piling on to Barry They've been piling onto that man. 07:11Speaker 1 Coward my god key, well, he says in such a husky voice. 07:17Speaker 3 Well, some people say, some people shaking Barry Yeah, Barry Kay. And it has been piling on to Barry Kay following his split from Sabrina Carpenter, where there was swirling rumors of a cheating scandal, and they have just not left that man alone, and up until now he has never addressed the rumors. He's definitely come out and like talked about the online harassment that his face and the scale of bullying that he's come up against, which has sounded really hard, but it hasn't really slowed the pace of everything down. But now he has sat down with Benny Blanco and his podcast Friends Keep Secrets and done a little bit of a heart to heart. 07:54Speaker 4 Just on a serious note. You know, I feel in the safe space to see this. And you know what, I have been avoiding stuff. I have been like, you know, I came off Instagram, you know, on social profiles. I stopped going to events. I've stopped you know, just socializing. And again it's because you know, there was a narrative out there that was never really sort of even spoken on a narrative that's not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it, and you know, I just disappeared. 08:29Speaker 1 So there's a lot of interesting things about that podcast. Clip one is just the fact that that podcast in general, like I've watched Benny Blanco's podcast a few times, those men just sit on the floor. 08:39Speaker 3 It's kind of chill vibes. 08:40Speaker 1 Yeah, but that's not how you podcast. And I'm not getting quite try that. Yeah, I wooden floor exactly about us, and we had to record during all those years of lockdown, like building a pillow fort, building a mattress tent, all those sorts. 08:55Speaker 3 Of things, because they're in pants, they're not inside. 08:58Speaker 1 That's not why sometimes I can just not just men famous people can just really do the better of them going through that. I mean, Barry did look very relaxed. He's sitting cross legged on the floor. But this is one interesting thing where it's like watching the podcast does give you a bit more than just listening to show there's people in the background just making tea in the kitchen and all those things. They must have excellent microphones not to pick up that background noise. But watching Barry's kind of like he his shoulders really slump. He puts his head down. You can see that he's like having difficulties speaking about it. But he's obviously had this really pent up inside and it's something that like he hasn't spoken on since the breakup with him and Sabrina Carpenter happens. So in that interview he kind of confirms they did date for over a year. He doesn't get into any of the specifics of why they broke up or anything. Like that. But he is in the midst of filming the Beatles movies, which is a huge, huge role that like every actor in Hollywood was going out for those Beatles roles, and it's going to be just kind of like this huge movie moment. So he's been in big movies before, but he's about to be in like a blockbus essentially, and so I think he knows that, like, he's got huge rounds of press in the next couple of years coming, and he also just needs to be in the public eye for his job in general. So wonder this was a bit like trying to clear the conversation before he goes back into. 10:14Speaker 3 That, and the scale of the harassment is it's quite disgusting because he has grown up with a lot of adversity. He speaks a bit in this interview about how people, you know, dragging his late mother into things she was an addict, and then he also has his own struggles with addiction. So I think stooping to that level and having to be constantly faced with that kind of commentary would be really hard when you know you've got this massive press run coming up. 10:40Speaker 1 Yeah, exactly, And it was, Yeah, it was kind of interesting. When he and Sabrina broke up, because they were never like overly overly public about their relationship, but they were photographed together a lot, and they did like when she did her Vogue with Come like he's in the video clip as well, Well, he's in the video clip, yes, yes, But prior to that, like they did there, like they were never like posing the heaps couple photos. Let's pause, some tea babes, all right.

    00:48Speaker 2

Massage out of facial stash. Exciting news for fans of the summer I Turned Pretty filmy has officially begun this week for the film installment. First scenes are being shot in Wilmington, North Carolina, and production.

    01:35Speaker 1

Is expected to run for about two months.

    01:38Speaker 2

The cast are reportedly getting paid for the equivalent of three episodes, which makes sense when you break down timings. Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad, of course are returning, but additional supporting cast members are yet to be now and so there will no doubt be some surprises to come. Jenny Hahn, who wrote the iconic book trilogy, has hindered that the film will center on another big milestone in Belly's journey, and we're thinking people motherhood.

    02:01Speaker 1

Surely she's too young for that. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

    02:04Speaker 2

Now. I know we talked about Helena Bottom Carter exiting White Loatus season four earlier this week, and I promised you I keep you posted on who was stepping in while the answer has arrived and it's a good one.

    02:14Speaker 1

    Oscar win out.

    02:15Speaker 2

Laura Dern has joined the season forecast, stepping in after Helena's exit. Crucially, she's not taking over Helena's role. That character has been scrapped entirely. Instead, Mike White has written a brand new character specifically for her. Now this is not a random casting either. They go way back. They created the HBO cult favorite Enlightened together, for which Durn won a Golden Globe, and whitebrote and directed the two thousand and seven film Year of the Dog with Laura Dern. They were even photographed together having somemovies in La last July, which fans were speculating at a time was a White Lotus meeting.

    02:49Speaker 1

It took nine months, but fans, as always, were right, and here we are sticking around.

    02:54Speaker 2

Billie Eilish gives us a lesson in astrology, and the Friends cast is still making an obscene amount of money from his jewels.

    03:03Speaker 1

Welcome back to your morning tea.

    03:05Speaker 2

This next story is either going to delight you or make you want a life faced down on the floor, possibly both.

    03:09Speaker 1

Lisa Kudro has revealed in a new interview.

    03:11Speaker 2

With the Times of London that the Friend's cast is still earning a jaw dropping amount from the show. I'm talking twenty million dollars in residuals two decades after it ended. Now Friends generates about a billion dollars annually for Warner Brothers through broadcast rights and syndication, and each cast member received two percent of that twenty million dollars a year for a show that wrapped in two thousand and four.

    03:35Speaker 1

I'm thrilled for them, and also I need.

    03:38Speaker 2

To go and cry in a closet while I lament my measly sayings in super write a quick but important one.

    03:43Speaker 1

Next Ed Sheerann has shaved your head. The ginger hair has gone.

    03:45Speaker 2

He's bald, and he's explained why in an Instagram post ed wrote, yes, I've shaved my hair. I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start, a lot of new beginnings in my life at the moment. I love it thinking of keeping it this way. He also revealed he's been privately battling shit she can go for the past month, writing wouldn't recommend it, but on the Men's now it is about to recummens. He's looped to a heading to the Dominican Republic next week, and I'll leave you this. Billy Ailey sat down with l for quick Q and A and included this cheeky astrology Listen, what.

    04:15Speaker 3

Is a common misconception about Sagittarius's bitch. Those are not misconceptions, those are true. Here's the thing about astrology. That shit is real. That shit is true. And this is coming from a person who if somebody brought up astrology, I would be like, oh my God, please shut the fuck up. And then I met a Gemini man and I dated as ass and then I believed in astrology. And since then, no matter what, without a doubt, I can recognize a Gemini from a mile away girl. Gemini's amazing life of the party. My favorite people in the world. Male Geminis go to help, so Sagittarius is. Here's the real conception, not misconception, conception about Sagittarius's loud, stubborn, obnoxious, bossy, funny, insane, sexy, good in bed. Yeah, kind of flaky, also a little flaky.

    05:13Speaker 1

I'm working on it and I could not love that check anyway. That is it for today's morning tea.

    05:17Speaker 2

Thank you for spending a couple of minutes of your Wednesday hanging out with me, Ash London.

Executive Producer: Monisha Iswaran Audio & Video Producer: Michael Kean Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast. From Mom and Me Out. Welcome to This Spill, your daily pop culture fix. I'm Laura Brodnick and I'm tinner Burk and coming up on the show Shay, real life drama on the White Lotus set with news that the biggest star of the new season has been recast. We're going to get into what really happened, or at least what the reports say are really happening, because it's very messy plus even more drama. It's reality TV meets true crime. The Summer House League explained, and even if you don't like Summer House, you on across it. This was breaking news across the world. There were investigations, celebrities were weighing in. We're going to get into that, but first, some news of a romantic nature.00:38Speaker 2 Yes, some news that you did unpack last week on the Spill, but that has finally we confirmed, And is that Harry Styles is engaged to Zoe Kravitz per People Magazine.00:46Speaker 1 Yeah, so I'm still I mean, I do think they are engaged, just because all the reports are on, I don't know if they're you know, if there's some celebrity couples that are kind of in bed with people and they do covers with them, or they do photo exclusives and things, and so when theyvenues to share, but they don't want to look tucky or they don't want to look like they're sort of fanning the flames of rumors, they'll just have their people confirm two People Magazine. But I don't see Zoey Isabelle Kravatz and Harry I'm sure of his middle name styles doing that.01:14Speaker 3 No, I don't think they're in fair with people.01:16Speaker 2 They're not like like tree Pain calls people up and she gives them the tea on ta like officially not in a bad way, But I don't think they're really like that for sure.01:23Speaker 1 Well, the reason they do that is they're not like some of the other tabloids. I mean, they're not tabloid. And sometimes they do if they run a room, they mark in rumor, which is fair enough, we all do it. But I guess the way that like someone like a tree Pain whose tailor swifts, pubblicers would do that because it's one of the quickest ways to clarify or put out a rumor, and the People Magazine team never breathe a word of it, even though it's kind of widely known who they're speaking to, so it's kind of like a win win situation.01:49Speaker 3 I'm not sure if Zoe and Harry's team.01:52Speaker 1 Is confirming to them, it's probably just someone there in a circle because they're not trying to hide it. Has yaid like yeah, because the quotes are very like, yeah, they're engaged.01:59Speaker 3 She really like three Yeah, thank god.02:02Speaker 2 Because I'd be weird if you didn't. I do think like, first of all, like shout out to all the haters last week who said it was a PR relationship and who.02:09Speaker 1 Oh my god, people, I never live in the fantasy world that these people live, where they think that celebrities get married, have children, spend their whole lives being photographed for PR.02:21Speaker 3 Sometimes for a movie they didn't even want to do.02:23Speaker 2 Yeah, people were like, it's a ring from her line. They're not engaged, is all I have to say to that. But anyone who's fanna Harry like saw it coming as well, because he did all those interviews for like American Girls. His song from his album which I cannot say kissing sometimes and discoing occasionally.02:38Speaker 3 That's the name of the song.02:39Speaker 2 No, that's his badly paraphrased album. The song name is American Girls. No, that should be a song. It should be a song name. But on American Girls. He literally like did a whole interview being like I assessed my life and I saw where do I want to be in five years. I want a family, I want kids, So I do think he was just like, right, Zoe Kravitz, it's with you.02:55Speaker 1 Everyone falls in love with Zoe Kravitz when they date her, like, yeah, we couldn't beating away. Yes, yeah, And she's only said yes three times that we know.03:03Speaker 3 Of, and this is the third one and this is the third.03:05Speaker 1 But she's if you're like the that's high odds if you're getting proposed to all the time, as I believe she.03:09Speaker 2 Would, Yeah, j Reckon, everyone has like did Michael faspend a late day?03:13Speaker 3 And she was like, can badly tried? He would?03:15Speaker 1 He would write it off now, but you just know that boy was like, please marry me, and she was like, no.03:19Speaker 2 No, I can't, pen Bactually I've got other people to marry exactly.03:22Speaker 1 Well. Someone she did say yes to was Channing Tatum, who's done in her movie Blink twice yea, and he put up a little Instagram comment this week that I'm actually kind of more invested in because like the engagement room is, I'm like still a rumor. I'll really believe it when I don't know if we'll see wedding photos. As we said previously, she did share a lot of photos from her wedding to Carl and they had that chic Parisian wedding where she wore the ballet flats. Yeah, but I don't know if this time around the level of fame and intrusion around the two of them, whether they will.03:51Speaker 3 But we'll see.03:52Speaker 1 But anyway, I just want everyone to spare a thought for Channing Tatum today because as news of the engagement was confirmed, I mean it's with the timeline, like definitely within the few days it was confirmed, but in the hour that after People Magazine fran I'm just saying there's.04:07Speaker 3 A correlation and that man like that man's been.04:09Speaker 1 Super famous for a long time. He has dated a lot of high profile women. Channing Tatum knows what he posting his Instagram story will be picked up as part of the news story, so he wanted us to know. I believe how he's feeling right now. So Channing Tatum posted this poem to his Instagram story, My brain and Heart divorced a decade ago over who was to blame about how big of a mess I have become? Eventually they couldn't be in the same room with each other.04:38Speaker 2 It's very Chloe Kardashian of him. Why why Kloia Kardashian, She's always sharing a cryptic Instagram Oh, you should spend more time on her Instagram story.04:46Speaker 1 No, I used to like love following all the Kartashians on Instagram when they would like film inside their like houses and shows, like when it was like kind of like an unedited version of their reality TV.04:54Speaker 2 Now it's like sponsorship, sponsor, sponship. Well, she's still sometimes she has a poem, so you got to get in there. I'm not I'm not going back into the story. I think Channing and he's like, Okay, that's what you do.05:03Speaker 1 We can't be in the same room together. Feels very pointed. I'm sure one day in some magazine profile when he's there's a photo of him looking soulfully off into the distance, a reporter probably from Vanity Fair, We'll ask him about this and he'll be like, no, it was just it was just about my heart and my head kind are the timing? Yeah, like we couldn't be in the same room together.05:23Speaker 3 What do we think?05:23Speaker 2 What's interesting because when they broke up, obviously they were doing press for Blink twice, and they kept saying like the nicest things about each other. I mean, you're not going to go out and be like she's the worst. But at the time they were still really complimentary of each other. And then I kind of think that now it's just like, oh, maybe he's a bit sad.05:38Speaker 3 Oh, I bet he's sad.05:39Speaker 1 No, I bet he's one thing is okay, And first of all, I'm not shading Channing Tatum.05:43Speaker 3 I actually quite like that man. I like him.05:47Speaker 1 He's just a dufist who also has a bit of like a good head on his shoulders for like producing and making movies and kind of and like was like instrumental and kind of building out the magic mic Bran into like a feminist masterpiece. If you've seen this stage show, well, yeah, the stage show is a feminist masterpiece. And I know here's people around him who do that. Ye, Because the one time I think he really could have been outed as a Hollywood jerk was when the Sony email league happened.06:11Speaker 3 Oh do you remember all of his because.06:13Speaker 1 He was like really in bed with Sony with like making Magic Mind and all his movies. I'm not like he could be a terrible person behind the scenes. I'm just saying, like, yeah, he's see I lovely. His private emails were leaked and there are a lot of celebrities who came out of that looking badly, but his were just like, yeah, baby, our movie is so good, like, yeah, we did this, thanks so much for your help, and I'm just getting how are you little? By all accounts greaker, Yeah, exactly. And you know, I feel like Zoe Kravitz wouldn't date a bit of us. She was probably just kind of got like they made that movie together. She was directing, he was the star. They were like really kind of like this creative partnership. And I feel like, maybe, as you're saying, when they kind of finished it and they're just sitting in their apartment together, just the two of them, that's when you go, huh, yeah, maybe is it forever?06:53Speaker 2 And maybe that's what he means by sharing this poem. At this time, he's like he's like my head and my heart couldn't agree, and like maybe in his heart he liked her, but in his head he was like, oh, well, she's not the one for me. No, I feel like she broke up with him for sure. Wasn't that the vibe? I mean, probably she does have the vibe of someone who would like aways with him. Yeah, she's not the nun percent.07:13Speaker 1 And I think the catalyst might have been member when he posted that photo of her sleeping.07:18Speaker 3 You think she saw that photo and she went too much. I think she got the ick.07:21Speaker 1 I think she already had the ike because they were back from filming, like they're on an island and they're like.07:25Speaker 3 Filming on location.07:26Speaker 1 They're making this like intense movie, and she was like, oh my god, he's an incredible like filmmaker and actor and we're collaborators. And I think they got back to their apartment and where they're just having their downtime. And that's when it's why so many people like broke up during lockdown. It's like, oh, do I really want to sit on the couch to this person forever?07:41Speaker 3 Not really? And then he posted this photo.07:44Speaker 1 Of her sleeping and with a lovely caption about how creative and credible she was, but it did give an air of desperation that he knew she was one foot out the door, and he tried to win her back with an Instagram story. And now he's posting to an Instagram story about his heartbreak.07:59Speaker 2 It's very poetic and lovely when you think about it.08:01Speaker 3 I mean, I don't love it.08:02Speaker 2 If I was him, I would keep quiet and like keep someone lure and mystery the moment in time.08:07Speaker 1 And also he's in his early forties and he's dating I believe they're still together a woman in her I'm going to say late twenties, mid twenties. Yeah, so at the end of the day all met at the same And also he's fine. I'm so can you imagine being her today? You're like, Hey, did you just post a cryptic messages?08:22Speaker 3 Yeah? Ex got engaged to Harry Styles.08:23Speaker 1 Interesting choice, Yeah, interesting, Well thoughts and pros with that girl when I'm really thinking of Yeah, I'm sure everyone else is fine.08:28Speaker 3 Yeah.08:30Speaker 2 So production on season four of The White Lotus officially kicked off this week in France, and we were all very excited about it because the car sounded really incredible. It is sort of a new French location vibe. We're not on a boat now, we're near where there are boats. So essentially this one is going to be like set at the Can Film Festival. There's going to be two luxury hotels, the Hotel Martinez, which will be like the White Lotus Can. So they've moved away from filming at four Seasons for this one, and then the next will be the Chateau Della. I'm going to say this is really bad Messadier in Santrope, which is going to be the White Lotus do cap. So it's kind of like a rich, luxurious background. There's gonna be Ken Film Festival filming, which will actually kick off on May twelve, So I think they're actually going to film at the festival, which is cool, and we'll be a lot of fun because I'm sure there will be some celebrity cameos. But the actual cast itself was very impressive when it was first announced. So you've got like Alexander Ludwig, who I know from The Hunger Games but other people would know from Vikings, AJ Michayla, Steve Coogan, Christmasina, Sandra Bernhard, Max Greenfield. The most exciting one though, was when Helena Bodham Carter was announced, so she was one of the first ones announced. It was all very tizzy and very exciting because also as much as I love her, she's not necessarily I would think someone i'd picture on the White Loaders.09:42Speaker 3 I don't know about you.09:43Speaker…

Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast.

You're listening to Amma Mia podcast. Good morning, Angels. I hope you're feeling as fresh as a newly engaged pop star on a Tuesday, because we have an absolute cracker of an episode for you today. I'm as London and I'm ready to crack into another gorgeous Tuesday. I hope you are too, so today Harry Styles and Zoe kravitt seemed to actually be engaged, like for real life. Jessica Biel has reportedly issued j t an ultimatum, and honestly, good for her. Tyler Swift is taking on the AI industry, and Milania Trump wants Jimmy Kimmel fire because of course she does. Let's pause some tea, Okay, let's start with the big one. It would appear that Zoe Kravitts and Harry Styles might actually be engaged. We first reported on this last week, and honestly, by now I expected one of them to come out and say, namah, it was just some costume jewelry that Zoe sometimes wears on that finger and so far, no such a bottle. A source confirmed to People Magazine that Harry and Zoe have shared the news with a small circle of family and friends. The couple were first wanted together last summer in Rome and have been inseparable ever since. And generally, when it comes to this sort of thing, people know their stuff because when people kind of announce it, it's generally a pretty good sign. Zoe was previously married to actor Kyl Gluseman and then engage to Channing Tatum before they caught things off in late twenty twenty four. What I love about all of this is that Zoe doesn't have a type. None of those men look, feel, or vibe. Similarly, she does not discriminate. Get a girl. Now, this one's been bubbling for a while and it's now reached a new level. So according to The Daily Mail, Jessica Bial has issued Habi justin Timberlake with an ultimatum over his behavior, and sources say there's not much more she can take. The report says the Bill has had enough of a string of incidents, including his twenty twenty four DUI arrest in subsequent release of bodycam footage Jelly, this year recent trip to Las Vegas, where eye witnesses told Page six he appeared to be under the influence, and his own golf invitational in the afternoon. A source told the outlet she does everything with the kids, and she's stick of being publicly embarrassed. There's not much more she can take now. Unnamed sources and tabloid marriage reports should always be taken with a grain of salt. The pattern of behavior here is documented and very public. The dy, the meme, the bodycam footage, the Vegas golf tournament. Jessica has stood by this man through a lot, and generally speaking, when these reports start emerging, it's often kind of in order to pave the way, so to speak. So we'll just have to wait and see. Stick around. Taylor Swift is trademarking her own voice to protect against AI Malaney. Trump is demanding that the ABC fire Jimmy Kimmel and one for the Game of Thrones fans, welcome back to you morning Tea. Taylor Swift is far the three trademark applications with the US Paytent and Trademark Office, and the movie is specifically designed to protect her against AI misuse. I mean, it's terrifying that people have to do this, but honestly, if I was I would do the same thing. Two of the applications are around trademarks covering her voice secifically the phrases hey It's Taylor Swift and Hey It's Taylor. The third is a visual trademark covering a specific photograph with her on stage holding a pink guitar in a multicolored iridescent bodysuit and silver boots. You know the one. We all know the one. Taylor's likeness has already been used without permission in AI fakes, including metas AI chatbods, pornographic images, and famously in twenty twenty four, when Donald Trump shared AI generated images falsely suggested she endoorstam Ill. She's following in the footsteps of Matthew McConaughey, who's successfully trademark Alright, alright, alright last year. Jimmy Kimmel is back at it again, and by it, I mean pissing off the Trumps. He made a joke on his show last Thursday in which he said that Mlania Trump had a glow like an expectant widow. The Joe gave two days before the White House Cross Bondent dinner, which was evacuated after shots for fired outside the venue. Milania has since posted on next calling for ABC to fire Kimmel, writing Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn't comedy. His words are corrosive and deep into political sickness within America. Enough is enough, It's time for ABC this take a stand. This is not the first time Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled into this kind of controversy. Of course, he was previously suspended in twenty twenty five after he made comments following the death Charlie Kirk, before reinstating him less than a week later. The Problematic Movie Make-Overs We Secretly Love Apr 27, 2026
    Show notes

With The Devil Wears Prada back on the big screen, we've been completely fixated on Andy's transformation from “frumpy” assistant to head-to-toe haute couture. It has sent us straight down a rabbit hole of the greatest makeover sequences cinema has ever given us.Because here's the thing. Yes, they're a little problematic, unhinged in their logic, and we are not even slightly sorry about how much we love them. We're breaking down the most monumental movie makeovers, why they've aged the way they have, and why we completely lose our minds every time the dramatic music plays and the transformation is revealed. Speaking of iconic makeover scenes, listen to our Brutally Honest Review of Clueless here. Executive Producer: Monisha Iswaran Audio & Video Producer: Michael Kean Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast. From Mama Mia. Welcome to this spill your daily pop culture fixed. I'm Laura Brodneck and I'm Tita Previs, and we have a very special episode for you today, one that I have been dying to do for so long because this is a special interest area of mind. So I'm so glad you're here for my moment that I got to share with you. We are doing the best movie makeover scenes that yes, might be seen as problematic, but we desperately love them. I love them. What do you think they're problematic? Well? I think well, I'm just gonna take my feminist hat off and put it in the corner. I'm gonna actually put it outside the studio, pick it up later on the way out, because I guess these like these movie makeover montages that have become such a big part of in particular romantic comedies. One is obviously we're both going to share our favorite ones. We don't know what the other person's going to say, but I'm assuming you don't have any men on your list, because I don't have any men on my lise. 00:53Speaker 2 You do, I do, But how rare is that it's rare, And that's why exactly exactly exactly. 01:00Speaker 1 So all the makeover scenes in movies, especially wrong cooms, always happen to women, and they always famously go one way. More men should be having makeups. Yeah, let's make it see men, I know. But if you rubits have tried to do that, has it really landed? I just mad it every day? Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, absolutely real mount the Street, let's make them over. I think it's a famous shell queer right. Well, these makeovers always go one way, so that's I think that's where the kind of problematic issue has come over the years is that the woman always comes out, she's always like tenned, she always has like a ton of makeup on, she gets her glasses taken off, even if see without them, always wearing like skimpier clothing. Like it's a very like kind of like sexualized bombshell kind of look that every woman gets made over to in these movies in order to kind of achieve the life that she wants. So if you look at it through that lens, slightly problematic. But we're not doing that today because movie makeover scenes have made up the broke of pop culture for so long, and there's so many movies that are made around these scenes or these ideas, and they were always the scenes that we used in marketing so famously in Suddenly thirty they had like done the script and shot half the movie, and the studio was like looking at the dailies and looking at the script and they're like, you have to put a makeover montage in here for the trailer. Otherwise formula is otherwise we can't sell this movie. What the hell are you doing. So the reason we're doing this today, I do have a reason for this before we get into our picks, is that it is The Devil Wears prior to two week. Yeah, the movie is actually coming out this week on the thirtieth of April, and the first movie has an incredible makeover moment which Andy goes into the fashion closet with nigelnic He pulls a poncho for which we never wear it see her wear. And then that is such a catalyst for the film because it's how we see her lean into her career and how she gets taken seriously, and that we have that incredible montage of all the different looks that she wears down the streets, different coats and hats into the office. You have a favorite one. 03:01Speaker 3 From that montage, all of the looks are always so good, and I think because you do have that contrast for like her own style at the start to all of those looks, like you can't just pick one, and then from there on out it just gets like better and better. 03:15Speaker 1 The fun better and better and better. 03:16Speaker 3 Yeah. 03:16Speaker 1 From that makeover montage we first see her like the green coat means the winner, but also the brown snakeskin coat when she walks into the building, which is how I want to be dressing this season. So off the back of the Devil Wears prior to two cinemas April thirty, we're gonna be sharing with each other our favorite movie makeover moments. Do you want to kick us off? So we haven't shared yet. I don't know what you're gonna say. It's going to be surprise. I'm interesting how a man weaseled his way in there, so like a man. It's like, we have one thing and it's been overly sexualized and made over in movies and then men want to take it away from us. 03:47Speaker 3 So I'm staying on the Anne Hathaway train. 03:49Speaker 2 Oh yeah, and I'm going with Princess Darry It wouldn't be Yes Complete the Makeover Podcast EP if we didn't have this one in there, I feel like it. It's so iconic unless you're living under a rock. Everybody has seen Princess Staris. It's one of my favorite movies growing up. And we follow Mia Thermopolis played by Anne Hathaway, and she finds out that she's actually a princess, which is what I thought was gonna happen to me. I'm still waiting for a letter behind estranged relative in her country. And she pretty much undergoes this whole transformation on her path to becoming a princess, and they enlist a stylists. 04:27Speaker 1 She pretty much just. 04:28Speaker 2 Takes her glasses off, straightens her hair and like has her nails done. 04:32Speaker 1 Like there's really not much more to it. Oh see. I actually think out of all the movie makeover is this one they actually go through quite a drug etiquette, has the etiquette training and that whole thing. But also I think they actually do quite change, Like she looks drastically different. Some makeover segne like you just took off her glasses and put a lipstick on, whereas this one it's like completely like her hair because I think she's got like a crazy wig on when she is playing Mia in the early movies. The glass has always changed things, but the makeup is so intense, the skin sort of stuff. 05:00Speaker 2 How she they pluck her eyebrows, They're like really like whacking those off. But again on the slightly problematic end, because it did really like reinforce you know, curly like frizzy hair being like a little bit messy and untamed, and like, I deep dove into Reddit and there are so many people on the Internet who you know, said how much it really affected them and it led them to like chronically straighten their hair for like ten years. 05:25Speaker 1 Okay, I didn't know there was like the dark side of the Princess Diaries. 05:28Speaker 3 We have Minisha producer Nisha in the studio. 05:31Speaker 2 Who was saying that this had a little bit of an impact on her and her. 05:34Speaker 1 And she never curled her hair again. Wow, No, she has curly hair. She straightens it. No, No, I know, is that right? 05:42Speaker 3 She's nodding, She's she's no. 05:44Speaker 1 I didn't realize that your hair looked like that. Because of the wrath of Anne Hathaway. Wow and Hathaways actually come out recently. Anne Hathaway's commented on Yeah public apology. 05:56Speaker 2 She recently spoke to people off the back of the recent press she's been dewey and shared her one regret from her time on the film. So her natural hair is actually straight, so they had to create that contrast for that makeover scene, that moment, so they gave me a really curly hair. And you know, she has regrets around people thinking that they were saying curly hair is unattractive, which is obviously terrible, and like she says, it was an unintended side effect. It was just in order to make it easier and post and you know, have that massive transformation moment. But it's so significant that it's actually something. Now in twenty twenty six, she's had to come out and dress. 06:32Speaker 1 Oh and no, And can I just say, you don't need to apologize. Do you have curly hair? You'r okay, no, we don't get it. I would love curly hair because I cut my hair all the time because I have dead straight, flat hair. Yeah, And I always feel like I'm the same the unattractive thing. And I would love to have people like especially like in rom com there's some wrong comms, like in How Lose a Guy? In Ten Days, where Kate Hudson's character Andy famously has straight hair, yes, but as she falls in love, her hair goes curly. Have you sadnything online of like girls in love have curly hair? 06:58Speaker 2 Yeah? 06:58Speaker 1 I have, yeah, And I was like, obviously I've been in love because my hair is straight, straight, So you can literally find anything. I'm just gonna say, Anne Hathaway, you don't apologize for that. It's okay. We don't speak on behalf of the curly girls. We well, no, no, I think that that's the fault of the movie, not Anne Hathaway. Yes, yes, And I also think that out of all the things that we have to sort of look at, that that one's okay. I'm not disregarding the feelings of curly head girls. I just don't think Anne Hathaway personally should take on that emotional birth. 07:24Speaker 3 No, it's not for her. She can we forgive you, Anne, it's not you. 07:27Speaker 1 We don't have to five. But that is such a pivotal moment, that scene, because everything about that movie plays and to wish fulfillment, and that is like also the biggest wish for filment as an adult but also as a teenager. That you're just kind of one step away from looking beautiful, that someone could take you in a room and they could do all these things. And also then her life does open up in this crazy way. Yes, because she's become a princess, but also because she looks like this ideal beauty, she becomes popular. Yeah, everybody likes her. The guy shet to like her, and are they're really careful to caveat that he always liked her. 08:00Speaker 2 Yeah, and it wasn't the makeover. Yeah, I was actually really don't do that as much watching it last night. And she just ignores him for like the whole first part of the movie. 08:09Speaker 3 He literally is like, you're attractive, and she just doesn't even like. 08:12Speaker 1 Well, that's the whole thing of these movies, too, is that they pedal this thing that everyone's secretly beautiful they just don't know it. And for a lot of us, and they put me in that category. No, fine, that's fine, there's no there's no little trick of like, if she just took her glasses off, or if she just took her hair out, she would be so beautiful and she just doesn't know it. 08:30Speaker 3 Yeah, I don't wear glasses. What's the next straight. 08:33Speaker 1 I wear my hair on every day. There's no way a man can take out my ponytail, and I'll instantly be beautiful. What is left? So good? Okay, before we move on to my next one. Are you excited for Princess Diaries three? Or you're upset about it? People different came. I'm excited because Princess Diary is too wildly a great movie. All the sequels out there, I think they're both great. 08:52Speaker 2 I think Anne is great, and if she wants to be involved in it, I know she'll want to do it right. 08:57Speaker 1 So super excited. 08:58Speaker 2 It's such a part of my child would I watched that movie rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. 09:03Speaker 1 It was one of those ones I was always. 09:04Speaker 2 Watching, even the nos Soldier, like, even if it's not better than one and two, I'm here for it. 09:12Speaker 1 Okay, So the movie Makeover I'm going to talk about now. I picked because it has my favorite reveal like When You Had. It has everything it has, like the big reveal, the reaction, the build up, the song, the song choice and maker. I realize every nearly every makeover Picked has an iconic song that sort of had new life in it because of the movie moment and this is an iconic comedy from the year two thousand, a great year for m comms. Miss Congeniality. Oh oh my god. 09:42Speaker 3 I can't what but like I would have been really really young. 09:46Speaker 1 Okay, you need to watch this is just movies. I just assumed everyone has seen I didn't. I didn't see it. I was like in not pro I was probably in high school. I did even know. Anyway, I didn't see the movies, but I just remember what. It's one of those ones where I just remember, like I know of it. I mean, we're probably had on a VHS and I just watched it over and over and over again. Oh my god. It holds up so well. I mean, no, it's problematic as hell, but that's fine. That's fine. But our feminist is outside. Actually yeah, it's actually out the window. I've thrown it. No, no, it's not problematic, and like, there's actually nothing so super bad in it. They'll just be little things. But anyway, as a movie, ten out of ten holds it so well. You need to watch it. You'll love it. Don't watch the sequel. Okay, the sequel's frodden. Sandra Bullock went through Who is the lead of this movie, Sandra Brook went through a time where she made two really regrettable sequels, Speed Too. I don't watch that. I never watch I've loved Speed Speed. Yeah. The second one, she's on a boat, and even she was like, that was a mistake because the boat. They're like, the boat's going so fast because the boat can go anywhere, because it's a cruise ship. It can't go the world. Yeah, it's fine. And Miss Congenality Too not great, but Miss Congeniality a perfect movie. So Sandra Bullet plays an FBI agent called Graasy Heart, and she's like really schlubby and gross, like yeah, that's the perfect kind of word for her. She wears like an ill fitting, like cheap suit which is always like crinkled, food stained. She's got really frizzed. They really frizzed her hair hair same thing. She's just hair like and she looks terrible. And so there's been a threat against the Miss USA pageant. So a lot of it set in a beauty pageant, and they need someone to go undercover in the pageant as a beauty queen to like stop the threat. And they go. They have this computer prog…

Mamamia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we have recorded this podcast.
You're listening to a Mom and mea podcast. Good Morning Angels, Happy Monday. A brand new week is upon us, and the celebrity world has absolutely not been resting. I'm Age London and I've been up since that crackad on collecting every single drop a tea for you. You're welcome, babes. Today. Meghana Stallion has put Clay Thompson on full blast and everybody on her side. Book Talk has officially been given its own bestseller chart, and I have thoughts all good ones. Helena Bonham Carter has exited White Lotus before filming even properly got started. And there's a new film coming out next month that I didn't know existed until today, and now it's all I can think about. So let's spore some tea. First Up Rapper and Broadway Start. Meghan Stallion is dumped NBA player Clay Thompson after less than a year of dating, and she did not go quietly. She posted to her Instagram stories cheating. You had me around your whole family playing house, got cold feet, holding you down through all your horrible moods, wings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now you don't know if you can be monogamous, followed by like five question marks. Then came the formal statement. She said, I've made the decision to end my relationship with Clay. Trust, fidelity and respect a non negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward. I personally preferred the Instagram run, but I respect her being classy about it. Now, let's put this in context. Two months ago, Meghan was publicly manifesting her own engagement. She'd met his whole family. The man named his boat after her, the ss Stallion that apparently could manage to be faithful Clay buddy, the ss Stallion deserved better, inserted Meghan next time. This one is for the readers, but not like literary fiction readers, the real ones like me, who spend more time than they care to imagine reading about other people. Bonking book Talk has officially been given its own UK bestseller chart. The new list is compiled by a media controller Nielsen IQ Book Data, the same people behind the Sunday Times bestseller list, so you know it's legit. It combines UK sales data with analyzes of the BookTok hashtag with over seventy seven million posts under the tag book It's about time they put some respect on Booktok's name. The inorderal Top twenty is entirely made up of female authors, as it should be. Irish writer Chloe Walsh appears the most. All six books in her Boys of Tom and series have made the list, which follows a group of teenagers navigating love, friendship and trauma at a private school. Romandes. He dominates, with Sarah g Mass and Rebecca Garris, both featuring heavily on top of the list. Heated rivalry of course, stick Around. We've got the Nick Jonas film that I did know existed and are now having an existential crisis over Helena Bottom. Carter has exited the White Lotus and the Sires family at a stagecoach moment that signals a full reconciliation. Welcome back to Morning Tea. Now over the weekend and you trailer dropped for a movie I didn't know all about until now, and I can't believe it. I'm beside myself with anticipation for May twenty nine. The film is called Power Ballad and it stars Paul Rudd and Nick freaking Jonas so Rad plays a wedding spinger past his prime. Nick plays a washed up boy band member. They have a late night jam by coincidence, and Paul Wright's character plays him a song he's been working on. Fast Forward. The pop star releases the song, reigniting his career. But this is when it gets complicated. You don't recognize it, should I of course yes you should. If that's my chorus and verse. I wrote at that time, when Wow, Danny Wilson, you were great up there, come with me. I could tell with any two minutes of any you you are ninely some boy band guy, and you are too good for that wedding band to him with this one for years. So every Signverrold in my life, it's about you. Sockered. The film is directed by the same guy who made Once, which if you haven't seen, please stop what you're doing and watch immediately, and he's already receiving rave reviews. Paul Right and Nick Jonas in a music film about songwriting, friendship and betrayal, put it in my veins. Helena Bottom Carter announced it as part of the White Load of season forecast back in January. Has exited the show and the timing is extraordinary. HBO released his statement seeing the character did not align once on set, and that the role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten, and will be being recast in coming weeks. So what we understand is that she got to Saint Trepe, unpacked her bags, got a couple of days into filming, and then it became clear to both parties it wasn't working. Reports suggests the role was central to the season story, which is why the decision was made to rewrite it entirely. I want to know if she got paid for a couple of days or she just got a free holiday at Center Pay, which I said wouldn't be bad about. The season is set during the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera, filming in Center Pey, Monaco and Paris. And finally, Noah Cyrus made her stagecoach debut on Friday over in the States and saved the best of last. After a studying set, she brought out her brother Brazen and then her dad, Billy Ray to perform their new song on Our Way Along a song tonight. Thank you so much for coming to see my first ever stage church. I'd like to talk about my brother Brazen and welcome my dad. Billy Ray's single written I produced by my brother Brazen, Hold on our way Along. You're right now. If you don't know anything about the Syrus family, there was some estrangement after Tish and Billy raised Aborce Scott Murkhy. Since then, Miley and Billy Ray have made up and now it's lovely to see they all seem to be on better terms, proof that once again, all faunilies are complicated, even when you're all famous. And now, my darlings, is it for today's morning tea. But thank you for spending a couple of minutes of your public holiday Monday with me. Hope you have a wonderful day with friends and family. Take care of yourself and in the meantime you can follow us on TikTok and Instagram to keep up to date with all the latest news and entertainment. Gusk. My name is Ashland and your host executive producer is Mini. She's warrant and we'll be back to morrow. Bye. Mamma Mia acknowledges the traditional owners of the land.
