Jeff King: How To Turn Your Hobby Into A Business May 29, 2020
    Show notes

This is just an incredible story. I first had Kingmade Jerky about 6 years ago while working with one of my PGA Tour players during a practice round. It was literally the best I had ever tasted, and it came from a Ziploc bag out of one of the other players' golf bags. Fast forward to 2020 and Kingmade Jerky is the "Official Meat Snack of the PGA Tour".

I sat down with founder Jeff King to talk about the origin of Kingmade Jerky, how it took off, the challenges of starting a business (especially when it was completely unexpected), and how it is one of the fastest-growing meat snacks in the U.S.

Julie McDonald - a great friend and trusted colleague - knows that understanding yourself and making decisions that are aligned with your core beliefs and values makes you more effective as an employee, a leader…and a human.

    Show notes

John Brannen is a rising star in the college basketball coaching ranks. Having just finished his first year at the University of Cincinnati and winning the regular-season American Athletic Conference championship (tournament and NCAA tournament canceled due to COVID-19), John is poised to do great things at a program who has experienced a ton of national success and is considered a storied program. I have been fortunate to work very closely with John since his time as an assistant coach to Anthony Grant at Alabama. After hearing this conversation, I bet you will become a big John Brannen fan as well!

But it's not just the knowledge he has of getting bigger, faster, stronger, more explosive, more flexible, and the like. The information he shares in this episode can help you do the same.

Brittany Wagner: Giving Students Freedom Within A Framework Apr 17, 2020
    Show notes

This week's guest is Brittany Wagner, star of the hit Netflix show Last Chance U. I wanted to bring Brittany on to talk about the difficulties that COVID-19 presents to our education systems. Parents are having to juggle work responsibilities with serving as a "teacher" to their children during this time.

Brittany offers some practical strategies for adults who are serving as teachers for their youngsters right now such as letting children develop their own schedule and adhere to it, give them the freedom to be who they are within a larger framework, and much more.

Leading Your Team Through Uncertain Times Apr 03, 2020
    Show notes

The COVID-19 crisis has reached seemingly every walk of life. For sports, especially those played in spring and summer at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, the abrupt end to a season (and career for some) has led to coaches searching for answers.

What do I tell my players? There is no blueprint for this, how am I supposed to handle it? I discussed these topics with a good friend of mine and a rising star in the DI collegiate baseball ranks - Justin Hill of McNeese State. Justin has led his team to the NCAA Tournament multiple times, but he, like all other coaches, are dealing with something unprecedented.
