Marty Reichenthal: How I Built and Sold 30+ Businesses Sep 06, 2019
    Show notes

This week's guest is Marty Reichenthal, a savvy investor and entrepreneur. I had the opportunity to do a live event with Marty earlier this year, and I was very impressed with his content.

Marty has over 40 years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience. In 1993 he partnered with OSI partners to expand a family-owned restaurant called Carrabba's and built 16 restaurants. After selling back his interests in 2003 he took a position a VP of Operations – overseeing more than 100 locations in 16 states.

In addition to many other business ventures, Marty purchased and developed 21 OrangeTheory locations over the span of 5 years. He recently sold a majority of the company to a private equity firm, and remains on the board of directors.

Wright Thompson: The Mask That Eats The Face Aug 28, 2019
    Show notes

There is only one Wright Thompson. He is, as they say, famous if you know who he is: his work includes the most read articles in the history of ESPN (and it's not even close) and has been anthologized in the Best American Sports Writing series ten times. But to say his pieces are ALL about sports is not the case - Wright Thompson figures people out. He jimmies the lock to the furnaces inside the people he profiles and does an analysis of the fuel that fires their ambition.

Whether it be Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods or Pat Riley or Urban Meyer, he strips the away the self-serving myths and fantasies to reveal his characters in full. There are fascinating common denominators: it may not be the case that every single great performer or coach had a complex relationship with his father. Simply put, Wright Thompson is the GOAT at his craft.

Mike Bianco: Building a Perennial Contender Aug 21, 2019
    Show notes

Ole Miss named Mike Bianco head coach of the Rebel baseball program on June 7, 2000. Since then, Bianco has become the winningest coach in program history and one of the top coaches in Southeastern Conference history while establishing Ole Miss as one of the premier programs in college baseball. In today's age of short coaching tenures, Bianco is the longest-tenured coach in the SEC across all sports.

In this episode of the Secrets to Winning, I sat down with a coach that had a tremendous impact on my career as a player and on my life. We talk about taking a program that was at the bottom of the SEC and turning it into a perennial power.

How to Overcome Mental Health Struggles Jul 10, 2019
    Show notes

I recently came across a blog post written by professional golfer Andrew Johnston. More commonly referred to as "Beef", Johnston wrote about his past mental health struggles over the weekend, and I decided to dedicate this week's episode to discussing mental health and how to overcome those struggles.

We live in a very stressful environment. It's ok to have fears, pains, and doubts. It's ok to be honest about feeling that pain. Mental health struggles can and do affect everyone, from the player playing to the coach coaching to the parent watching.
