In this installment of the Zine Scene, we're going to look at all four issues of my favorite short-lived UFO mag, Alien Worlds, published out of the UK in 2008. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, I was able to complete my collection recently, so I thought I'd share my thoughts with you.

Archives for the Unexplained has back issues available very affordably. Shipping costs (from Sweden) may seem high, but their prices on these mags and all their other books are really very reasonable, so it tends to balance out!

The Road to Kelly Aug 19, 2020

Show notes

Episode Notes

This is something a little different.

About a month ago, Associate Producer Simpson J. Hanover III and I went on a little field trip to Hopkinsville and Kelly, Kentucky. Our mission? Basically to locate some of the places associated with the legendary goblin encounters described in our Kelly Goblinsville episode from last October. We didn't go out of our way to bother anyone, didn't pester the locals with our questions about goblins, UFOs, men in black, or anything else. Just two weirdos checking out the area.

We had a lot of fun doing this; hope you enjoy it!

Episode Notes

Thanks to listener Martin K., we got our hands on a few issues of The Woodrew Update. This was the newsletter of Greta Woodrew's S.T.A.R. Foundation. In this mini episode, we look at a few goodies from the January/February 1986 edition. Highlights (that may be overselling it) include her classical music tastes, unattributed poetry, and a glimpse at what the S.T.A.R. Foundation was doing with its donations in 1986.

The Top Ten- Important UFO Books Aug 05, 2020

Show notes

Episode Notes

So a while back, I got an email from a listener asking what I thought my top ten important UFO books were. Not being one to waste a good idea, I decided that instead of telling them, I'd make it into an episode. I was going to put links to purchase the books here in the show notes, but it's kind of a spoiler, isn't it? So you're on your own! None of these are obscure and I played by the rules of "Important" books rather than "favorite" books, so some of these are not my favorites!

Click here for links to purchase the books. If you wanna be surprised by the list, don't click until you've listened!
