Dr. Barry Gordon, MD Jumps in the Rotation May 27, 2026
    Show notes

A 1981 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Gordon spent 32 years of his career practicing emergency medicine within some of the most respected trauma centers in the country. In 2015, Dr. Gordon relocated to the Venice area with his wife Patty and opened a state of the art laser tattoo removal clinic. Always cutting edge, Dr. Gordon simultaneously began a telehealth practice where patients could connect with him via their smartphones, tablets, or laptops to receive general medical care. No longer tethered to a large healthcare organization, Dr. Gordon made the decision upon overwhelming passage of the Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Amendment on November 8, 2016 to begin seeing and treating patients with chronic illnesses using cannabis therapy. “Just as the overwhelming majority of voters in Florida demonstrated their belief in the many benefits of cannabis therapy on November 8th , as a healthcare professional I am deeply committed to providing patients with an option to compassionately ease their suffering,” says Dr. Gordon. “My practical experience coupled with my own scientific research has enabled me to offer a unique approach in care to my patients. I feel a responsibility in both providing the appropriate education and allowing my patients to live a better quality of life without the sometimes-harmful effects of conventional pharmaceutical prescriptions.” With a minor in communications, Dr. Gordon (affectionately known as Dr. Barry) has been a fixture on radio and television shows in both Northeast Ohio and Southwest Florida for over two decades. He has utilized these combined experiences to become a Statewide and National leader in the Medical Cannabis field, recently being named a member of Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried’s Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Barry enjoys fishing, spending time on the water, and anything related to Cleveland sports teams. He and Patty added mini goldendoodle “Tiva” to the family; Patty is still holding out for Brother “Indica” and puppy “Hybrid”!
