The Illusion of Control (Part 1) Jul 15, 2022

Show notes

Have you ever noticed how we tend to have an illusion of control over outcomes? When you focus on the hypothetical of control, you lose your resilience and your ability to lead. As a leaders, we have to manage our energy first before we can lead anyone else - if you can’t manage your own energy and you focus on these illusions of control, fear-based behavior is going to sneak its way in. Join Scott as he discusses how we can overcome this illusion of control and maintain our leadership energy to avoid falling into the trap of fear-based behavior.

What Type of Community Are You Building? Jun 22, 2022

Show notes

As Rooftop Leaders we need to hold space for bridging trust to occur and get back to our nature so the people around us can shake off the trance-like state they’re in and join us in operationalizing the upswing. To do this, we need to create environments and communities that care more about how we treat each other when we discuss an issue, rather than the actual issue itself. Nobody else is coming - it’s up to us to make a difference and change the trajectory our society is heading in.

The Crabs Get Louder Apr 15, 2022

Show notes

We all want to leave our mark on the world - or as Rex Mann says 'leave tracks.' As you work your movement you'll realize how tough it can be to reach the finish line, and that really the closer you get the harder it becomes to reach it. Scott is all too familiar with this pattern of achievement, most recently with his work with our Afghan Allies and Operation Pineapple Express. So how do we press through the final stretch of something bigger than ourselves?

Join Scott on this week's #RooftopPodcast fireside at his parents' farm in Kentucky for this and more.

Country First (ft. Congressman Adam Kinzinger) Apr 01, 2022

Show notes

This week we have special guest Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois join Scott to discuss leadership that bridges beyond trust gaps. It is rare these days to find institutional level leaders that put the country before politics, agendas, and other dividing factors - but Congressman Kinzinger is just that, a leader who bridges and leads in a way that is beyond the definition of a party or a group. We ask that you leave your personal ideologies at the door and embrace this thoughtful conversation on leadership.
