He talks about his past experience as a coach, in both the collegiate and professional ranks, as well as how the last 24 hours have been for him, and how much of a whirlwind it has been. He also discusses what attracted him to the Colts organization as a whole.

14:38 - 58:40 - John is joined by former NFL coach and current analyst on the Colts Radio Network Rick Venturi, as he gives his opinion on the Shane Steichen hire and the hiring process the team underwent. The Colts have a decision to make when it comes to what they will do in the NFL Draft; John and Rick breakdown what that decision might be. They also get into Steichen saying that he will call his own plays, and if that might not be the best idea.

58:41 - 1:22:48 - The Ride with JMV kicks off with John discussing what the Colts will do with the 4th overall pick in this years draft. He then talks to Kevin Bowen from Kevin & Query to breakdown Jim Irsay’s comments alluding to Bryce Young during the Shane Steichen press conference, if that is an actual indication of where the Colts are going. He talks about how, while today was important, the real work will begin with figuring out who the next starting quarterback will be. He also gets into Steichen calling the plays here, and if that’s a good idea or not.

They talk about the first impression Steichen made, and discuss what type of offense we will see when the new season begins. They get into what the team will do at quarterback, as well as what drew the team to Steichen to begin with.

49:03 – 1:09:16 – The show moves into the 2nd hour with John continuing to recap the Shane Steichen press conference, as well as giving his expectations for the team next year. 00:00 – 32:33 – John gets the show going by talking about the news that broke yesterday that the Colts are targeting Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen as their next head coach, with the teams plane reportedly in Phoenix to get Steichen and bring him to Indy to make it official. He also recaps the Super Bowl, and how big of a game the Eagles offense had in spite of the loss. He talks about the difference in firepower between the Eagles and the Colts, and what Steichen will have to do to adjust to that.

John then talks about Lebron James breaking the NBA All-Time Scoring Record last night, and how impressive it is that he is still playing at a high level at his age.

29:31 – 43:16 – John talks to Jeremiah Johnson of Bally Sports Indiana about the Pacers/Heat matchup tonight down in Miami, and if the Pacers can get out of their road losing streak. They also get into NBA trade news, and what is brewing with the trade deadline coming up tomorrow, as well as if there are any Pacers who have fallen out of the rotation who have been visibly frustrated.
