Do We Become Gods? A look at Theosis with Dr. Michael Heiser Dec 09, 2019

Show notes

What does it mean to be partakers of the divine nature, what does it mean to be adopted into the divine family of God, and what is the ontological nature of those who are born again?
Dr. Michael Heiser is back tonight to discuss "theosis". Its Doc Heiser so you should expect that we will discuss 2nd temple Judaism, early church fathers, and the eastern orthodox church.
It's my hope that we can distinguish the early church fathers' doctrine of theosis from the ever-growing heresies found in Morman temple and the "little God Doctrine" sneaking into some word of faith churches.
Is there a baby in this bathwater? tune in tonight at 8:30 PM CST and find out.

The Evil God of the Old Testament?: With Mike Winger Dec 04, 2019

The Evil God of the Old Testament?: With Mike Winger
One of our favorite guests is coming back this week. Mike Winger is the host of the Bible Thinker youtube channel. He will be with us this Monday to discuss what many think are contradictions between "the merciless God of the Old Testament and the merciful Jesus of the new."
This is a rapidly growing view among professing believers and non-believers alike, causing many to distort and manipulate the meaning of scripture, or modify the nature of God. We are so excited to have Mike Winger with us this Monday to tackle this ever-growing issue in modern evangelicalism.

How Reductionism Is Harming The Gospel: A look into ReFramAtion by Alan Hirsch & Mark Nelson Dec 04, 2019

Show notes

How Reductionism Is Harming The Gospel
In this episode of the Remnant Radio, we are interviewing Alan Hirsch and Mark Nelson. We are dialoguing about their new boor Reframation. As Christians, we can often be starved of imagination, wary of paradox, and devoid of mystery. Reframation is a passionate manifesto, calling followers of Jesus to reframe and reenchant our worldview, enlarging our perception of God and gospel. It’s an invitation to stretch our minds, expand our hearts, and awaken ourselves and those around us to the grand story of God.
In this episode, we will discuss how the western world view has reduced the gospel into bite-size propositions that actually hinder the authenticity of the Gospel.
Really looking forward to tonight's show.
We will see you live at 8:30PMCST

Best Complementarian argument (Women in Ministry Part 5): With Dr. Colin Smothers (2019) Nov 11, 2019

Show notes

In this episode of The Remnant Radio, Dr. Colin Smothers from the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood is coming on the show to discuss women in ministry. However, Dr. Smothers is not going to be giving an egalitarian presentation. Colin will be our very first Complementarian discussing this topic. Our discussion will be anchored in Genesis 1-3 and I am sure we will be visiting 1 Timothy 2 as well, as we discuss the complementarian arguments seen in scripture through the created order of man and woman.
Keep in mind, as we explain both sides of this complementarian vs egalitarian debate, no one has a dog in this fight, everyone is coming to the table trying to better understand the scriptures and the God who has spoken to us through his word. We hope you enjoy the discussion. Feel free to ask questions here in the comments or call us live during the show. Blessings

Rethinking Hell Part 2 (Is Hell Eternal Conscious Torment?): With Jordan Sutton (2019) Oct 14, 2019

Show notes

Rethinking Hell Part 2 (Is Hell Eternal Conscious Torment?): With Jordan Sutton (2019)
In this episode of The Remnant Radio, Jordan Sutton is coming on the show to continue teaching us about conditionalism. The Idea that eternal life is only given to those who believe in Christ. By deduction, those who do not believe in Christ will not live eternally. Some have chosen to call this annihilationism, in short, we are discussing if hell is eternal conscious torment as it has been portrayed by media and the church, Or his Hell a place where people cease to be?
Jordan will also be responding to some of the objections to conditionalism.
