Professor Flitwick: Character Study, Part 1 Jan 15, 2024

Show notes

Without much source material to go off of, Alice and Martha are left to make a lot of interferences about this week's character, Filius Flitwick! Luckily, the Wiki seems to have a lot of information about this tiny little miniature professor as well. Pour yourself a Shirley Temple (with umbrella, of course!), smack your lips together, and enjoy Flitwick's robust arc in the first three books!

Phineas Nigellus Black: Character Study Dec 11, 2023

Show notes

Believe it or not, Alice and Martha manage to fit Phineas Nigellus Black's entire character arc into one podcast! The thin, reedy voice comes out more than a few times, as well as the voices of many of the old headmasters, who, by the way, are honor-bound to serve the current headmaster! So, pull up a chair, put a painting in it to make it feel like you have company, and enjoy this week's character study!

Take Five, Take 4.9: Goblet of Fire, 40:01-45:00 Dec 04, 2023

Show notes

Alice, Martha, and special guest Shut Up Tim are back to discuss another five minutes of Mike Newell's cinematic masterpiece! These five minutes are heavy on Sirius, birds (finally!) and amazing acting by Harry (as usual). Plus, the world goes topsy-turvy when it comes time for all the segments!

Take Five, Take 4.8: Goblet of Fire, 35:01-40:00 Nov 27, 2023

Show notes

Alice, Martha, and special guest Shut Up Tim are back to discuss Mike Newell's most unhinged five minutes yet. McGonagall proves to be the only sane adult in the room, as well as possibly the only good actor in the five minutes. Plus, Harry and Ron get into a very convincing fight and Tim picks a highly predictable Classic Owlice moment.

Minerva McGonagall: Character Study, Part 7 Nov 13, 2023

Show notes

Alice and Martha gather to properly eulogize Professor McGonagall, although luckily, her body doesn't end up lying next to the Creevey brothers in the Great Hall. What's more, she doesn't seem to be Hogwarts Headmistress 19 years later, saving us all a massive eye roll.
