PLM 329 : Building The Foundation - A Critical Piece Most Online Businesses Are Missing.... Aug 08, 2016

Laying the foundation for the houses that I helped build in Nicaragua was a time-consuming process that took all day. Although the foundation didn’t look like much, the end result will be life changing for a family in need. My experience in Nicaragua has been a such a great metaphor for every aspect of life. You have to make sure that, anything that you want to create in your life, that has value and meaning, has a strong and steady foundation. In order to achieve a successful, long-lasting business you need to make sure that you build a strong foundation for that business, so that it can grow and withhold the adversity and changes that occur in life. Building the foundation of a house is similar. Building the foundation is a critical piece that most online businesses are missing. If you don’t built a strong foundation for your business, it will not withstand the test of time. Similarly, if you don’t build a strong foundation for your home, it will easily crumble. Some people want the final result without the process. They want to achieve optimal success immediately, without taking the necessary steps to get there. Why? Because it's hard work to set strong foundations. Sure enough, when you take short cuts and you don’t invest the time and the energy to build a strong foundation, it will cost you down the road. Be patient and do things the right way, in both your personal and professional life. It is a lot of hard work, but when the foundation is established, things will be easier to build off of. My experience in Nicaragua has taught me how blessed I am. Our struggles are small, in comparison to the extreme poverty and hardships that so many people in developing countries face. Take a moment to think about how blessed you truly are. Be thankful for what you have, rather than focusing on what you don’t have. When you adopt this mindset, it will give you a deeper appreciation and joy for your life and the opportunities that lie in front of you every day.

PLM 328 : WHY You Should Make A Million Dollars (Not Why You Think...) Aug 03, 2016

In this podcast, I want to share with you my beliefs on why you should make a million dollars. A lot of people don’t understand what the true purpose is of setting and achieving goals. The purpose of goals is not what you get, it is who you become in the process. It is important to understand that what you get can always be taken away from you – money, a house, your car – but nobody can take away who you become. A lot of people end up feeling depressed once they achieve their goals, because they thought that all of their problems in life would magically disappear and that life would be amazing. This is simply not true. Material possessions will not make you happy, and ultimately, the more that you achieve, the faster that feeling of euphoria will go away. You may be thinking to yourself, “What is the point of achieving my goals if its not going to make me happy?” Jim Rohn once said, “Everyone should make it their goal to earn a million dollars in their lifetime. Not for the money, that doesn’t matter, but for who you become in the process”. When you become more, you will earn more in the process. If I lost everything tomorrow, I know that I would be okay. I would recreate what I had done, but do it much faster, because I wouldnt have lost who I became in the process. Business is a spiritual game; you are required to grow and to give. This is the essence of success. When you give to others, you experience a feeling of pride, belief, confidence, happiness and fulfillment, and that is the true value of achieving your goals. Be remembered for who you are and what you give, not by what you have.

PLM 326 : The ONE QUALITY That All Successful People Have In Common Aug 01, 2016

What is the one quality that all successful people have in common? They have unshakable confidence. Confident people don’t spend time wondering if they are going to be successful. They know that success is inevitable. They have an incredible amount of belief and certainty in themselves and their abilities. I have been successful in multiple areas of my life because I made it a priority to cultivate confidence within myself every day. You have to believe that you can make anything happen, no matter what obstacles or barriers may stand in your way. Always remember that your perceptions shape your reality. If you adopt the mindset that anything is possible, you will be unstoppable. Brian Tracy once said, “Confidence is a habit that can be developed by acting as if you already had the confidence you desire to have”. By consciously taking specific actions, like having a daily morning ritual or investing in yourself by way of a training program, a coach or a mentor, you can train your mind to behave more confidently. If you want to be successful, you need to work harder on yourself more than anything else. Nothing will work unless you work. You need to believe in your potential and act on it. Confidence is just an emotional state. It is up to you to make that state a reality!

PLM 325 : The 3 Most Dangerous Words In The Human Vocabulary That Holds People Back From Success Jul 31, 2016

Today I want to talk about the three most dangerous words in the human vocabulary that holds people back from success. As Ive mentioned before, confidence is one of the greatest assets you can have, however there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. The confident person will say, “I can do it”, whereas the arrogant person will say, “Only I can do it”. As you gain success, you have to make sure that you don’t develop an inflated ego, because this can be one of your greatest obstacles to personal development. If you think that you know everything, than you close yourself off from learning. The three most dangerous words in the human vocabulary are “I know that”. Consider the times when you may have used these words. Think back to the circumstances, why you said them, and to whom you were speaking. Chances are that the conversation may not have ended well. My belief is that you don’t actually know something until you are doing it. You need to live it in your life and in your business, because if you aren’t implementing what you know, you don’t really know it. When you achieve success, it is important that you don’t let it get to your head. Humility is a vital component for achieving success in all areas of life. It means staying confident, while putting arrogance aside as you strive to achieve your goals. Sam Walton, the founder of the largest retailer in the world, once said, “I have probably traveled and walked into more variety stores than anybody in America”. Even though he was the richest man in the United States, he was also the most humble, because he understood that there was always more he could learn. The most successful people in the world are always trying to learn and improve. Don’t let your ego get in the way of earning success. Understand that there is value in everything.

PLM 324 : My Penthouse Tour: $3 Million Dollar, 3-Level Penthouse on 27th Floor in Vancouver Jul 24, 2016

Today is a big day for me! I just moved into a 3 million dollar, 3-level penthouse in Yaletown, on the 27th floor, in beautiful downtown Vancouver. I wanted to give you a tour of where I am living now, and give you a prevue, before I settle in and furnish my place. It has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with over 2000 square feet of living space. The balcony space itself is 1000 square feet, so it is very spacious. Some cool features of the penthouse include an automated blind system, a built-in sound system and projector screen, and a wrap-around roof top patio with two BBQ’s and a hot tub! What I love about this place is all of the natural light from the wrap-around windows, which is really important when it comes to filming and live streaming, which I do a lot of in my online business. Keep in mind that if you have a home-based business, a huge advantage is that you can write-off part of it as a business expense. Once I furnish my place, I will give you another tour. PLM 321 : How To Build A Million Dollar Online Brand That You're Passionate About Jul 13, 2016

In the world of online business, making money is not enough. If your business generates income for you, but you’re not passionate about your work, you are not going to be fulfilled or successful in the long-term. Building an online business and achieving success is not an easy path, which is why it is imperative that you have an emotional connection to your business. Passion is a great motivator. Stop and ask yourself, “What is my true passion? What makes me excited about what I am doing?” You need to strive for ‘pull motivation’ in your online business. When you have a passion for your work, you will find that motivation will no longer be an issue.
