PLM 440 : The Illusion of Happiness Jun 14, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I talk about the illusion of happiness. I believe that happiness is a universal desire. Deep down, we all want to be happy. Unfortunately, in today’s world, genuine happiness is a rare commodity. People who have bought into the illusion of happiness use things like money, relationships, friends, their body, etc., as vehicles to achieve certain ‘positive’ emotional states. The more you 'go after' happiness, the more fleeting it becomes. Materialistic things won’t buy you happiness. If you are constantly chasing the idea of happiness, you will live a life of pain and disappointment. Instead of focusing on the external rewards of life, focus on your internal state. Happiness is a choice. There are people in this world that have nothing, and still, they choose to be happy and joyful. Similarly, there are people who have all the money in the world, but they aren’t fulfilled. Whatever the circumstances are in our lives, we always have the power to choose how we feel. In the words of A.R. Lucas, “If there’s even a slight chance at getting something that will make you happy, risk it. Life’s too short, and happiness is too rare.” Are you ready to drop the illusion of happiness and live from a place of joy, gratitude, and fulfillment?

PLM 438 : How To Find Meaning In Life Jun 12, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I respond to a question that I received on SnapChat from one of my follower’s by the name of Noah, who asked me to reflect on how to find meaning in life. This topic brings into question the myriad of limiting beliefs that people have about themselves and the world. We all have limiting beliefs that hold us back from achieving our goals and dreams. However, at any given moment, we have the power to change those beliefs. Finding meaning in life may seem incomprehensible, but if you commit to shifting your mindset, your entire life will transform, giving you the power to create a life that is rich in meaning. Happiness is a choice. We so often take life for granted, and don’t take pleasure in the little things. Instead, we drown in worry and fear, which inhibits our ability to be present and grateful. We dwell on what we don’t have, instead of being happy for what we do have. Train your mind to focus on the good because there is value in everything, IF you look for it. Every day, ask yourself, “What is the benefit of this experience?” Make it a priority to find more joy in the richness of life. This is how to find meaning in life. When you commit to clearing the disempowering beliefs that hold you back from success, your life will start to flow with more happiness. In the words of Brian Tracy, “You begin to fly when you let go of self-limiting belief and allow your mind and aspirations to rise to greater heights.” Are you ready to find meaning in life?

PLM 437 : How I Hit EMOTIONAL THRESHOLD and Changed My Life! Jun 09, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I share how I hit emotional threshold and changed my life! We all cope with emotions in different ways. An emotional threshold is the tipping point at which we perceive a stimulus, threatening or not, and act on it. Depending on the situation, sometimes we have the ability to effectively manage our emotions and make rational decisions, while other times our emotions overpower us, which end up dictating our decisions. If you want to master your life, learning how to express, experience, and regulate your emotions needs to be at the top of your list. Many people are victims to their emotions and believe that they have no control over how they feel. I used to adopt this scarcity mentality, but once I realized that only I am in control of my choices, I hit emotional threshold and changed my life! Most people cover things up because they don’t want to face the reality of their lives, and they make it acceptable to settle. If you can get to the truth, you can change anything. If you want to have a larger emotional threshold, condition your mind so that you approach challenges in life with a proactive mindset. When you do, you will master your emotional state and feel more in control of your life.

PLM 435 : Who You Spend Time With Is Who You Become May 26, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I shed light on why who you spend time with is who you become. The most effective way to learn and grow is to surround yourself with people that are smarter and more successful than you. Unfortunately, a lot of people hesitate from putting themselves in environments like these, for fear that they will appear stupid. In doing so, they limit their opportunities for growth. If you want to master your life, it is important that you surround yourself with people who inspire you to achieve greatness. Take a good look at the people you spend time with on a daily basis. The values that you live by need to be in alignment with the people you spend time with. Are you friends holding you back? If so, it’s time to find new friends. If your friends are lazy, unhappy, and negative, you will in turn, adopt those patterns of behaviour. Who you spend time with is who you become. It is only when you surround yourself with people that are more successful than you, that you feel the most inspired to be the best version of yourself. Success breeds success. Hans Hansen said it best – “People inspire you, or they drain you. Pick them wisely.”

PLM 434 : Why You Should Meditate Everyday… (Not Why You Think) May 25, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I share with you some reasons why you should meditate every day... (not why you think you should). This is a practice that has greatly impacted my life. Meditation is one of the most effective ways to cope with stress, and find a sense of inner calmness and peace from the daily pressures that life brings. I am not a master of meditation, but it is something that I have committed to going deeper with, over the last six months. Intellectually, I always knew that meditation was good for me, but I never did it, because I didn’t associate to it on an emotional level. Once I forced myself to meditate over a period of time, I started to notice the benefits, on both an emotional, mental, and spiritual level. These are some reasons why you should meditate every day... (not why you think you should). We all lead busy lives, but if we want to achieve life mastery, it is important that we feel a sense of balance, in our body, mind, and soul. Go deeper and embrace the power of meditation. How would it feel to start your day feeling calm and grounded? Let the power of meditation help you achieve this peaceful state of being. In the words of Ram Dass, “The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” There is no greater reason for why you should meditate every day.

PLM 433 : Judging & Criticizing Others: How To Destroy Your Own Happiness May 22, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I share with you why judging and criticizing others is the easiest way to destroy your own happiness. Can you imagine a world where everyone was accepting and loving towards one another? Despite our best efforts, we have all been guilty of judging and criticizing others at some point in our lives. In the past, I indulged in these behaviours, which in turn, negatively impacted my happiness in life. Judgment and criticism is merely a projection of your own insecurity and lack of fulfillment in life. It wasn’t until I was 100% happy with whom I was, that I no longer felt the need to judge others. How much time do you spend judging and criticizing others? Make it a priority for all of your intentions in life to be comprised of love and kindness. Let go of your ego and stop judging and criticizing others. In the words of Sri Chinmoy, “Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.”

PLM 432 : ABUNDANCE MINDSET vs. SCARCITY MINDSET May 14, 2017
    Show notes

In this podcast, I point out that there is a HUGE difference between an abundance mindset vs. scarcity mindset. The path that your life takes depends, in part, on the mindset that you adopt. You can choose to either view the world as abundant or scarce, but they cannot co-exist. The abundance mindset flows out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security. It is a paradigm that is grounded in the belief that ‘there is more than enough’ for everyone. Alternatively, a scarcity mindset is the belief that there will never be enough, resulting in feelings of fear, stress, and anxiety. What type of mindset do you ascribe to? William James said that, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind.” The difference between an abundance mindset vs. scarcity mindset is that one will imprison you, while the other one will set you free. Choose wisely.
