    The Professional Winner Podcast

    The Professional Winner Podcast was created by Jonathan Conyers to motivate and uplift people. It was also created to give a voice to the unheard and to provide a safe space for all people. Such a cliche right? Well let’s break down what that term Professional Winner means to him. His whole life he wanted to be an entrepreneur. That term meant so much to him and it symbolized freedom. Free to travel, free to escape the harsh reality of the world. Being free from judgment and just being able to have ownership and live the American dream that he knew people from his community rarely ever get the chance to have. However, as he got into the business world it just seemed like the term was just getting more and more diluted. Money was all that mattered. People who really didn’t have that confidence and risky type of personality that’s needed to be in this business world still used the term. The term was just starting to be used so freely and it was upsetting. So he started saying he’s not an entrepreneur, he’s a Professional Winner. Instantly he felt better and he thought the term had more value to it. Jonathan also elaborated on what the term Winner meant. It had nothing to do with likeness, financial freedom, or coming in first place — it had to do with believing in yourself. It had to do with taking Step 1 and putting yourself out there. Understanding that it’s okay to be happy with where you are and being content is sometimes okay. Winners understand that sometimes you have to lose and that sometimes no matter what life throws at you – the fight continues. Being the force she is she was accepted into Harvard Business School (online) to study business analytics and entrepreneurship. In that same year, she was a nominee for Forbes 30 under 30. She has made numerous television show appearances on Fox's Dr. Oz, TLC's "What Not To Wear", E! Wags, TMZ, "Wake Up With Marci" on Pix 11, and VH1's Love & Hip hop NYC.
    She has single-handley assisted over 300 entrepreneurs and brands in leveraging marketing. She achieved this through her magazine, Fashion Gxd Magazine. Which, Fashion Gxd Magazine was Amazon's best-selling magazine for three years running. In 2023, she received the President Lifetime achievement award with her son, child prodigy, River Mason Eromosele for her contribution to the fashion and business industry. The magazine is distributed globally and can be found at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Amazon, and Indigo. It has gained recognition and was awarded the "Prosperity Award" by Iheartradio and Power 105.
    In addition to her list of vast accolades, she is a momager. Her son, River Mason Eromosele, is one of the top child prodigies in the world and was inducted by the Global Child Prodigy Association in 2022. He commenced his career as a model and actor. Pilar has successfully aided her son's career landing him the opportunity to work alongside EGOT winners such as John Legend and Rita Moreno. “The Sky Is The Limit'' landed them features on Forbes, The New York Times, and Yahoo. The duo sold over 3,000 copies of the book. The book helped River's peers through meditation and chakra healing during the COVID pandemic.
    As she developed into a well-known and trusted mogul in fashion & business management she created a lane with her philanthropic efforts.     FRED MURPHY: THE PROFESSIONAL WINNER PODCAST EPISODE 26 Feb 20, 2023

    Today on Episode 26 of The Professional Winner Podcast we have Fred A. Murphy. Mr. Murphy is a retired teacher living in New York City. He taught for 36 years, 34 of which were in Harlem and the South Bronx.
    Mr. Murphy graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo New York in 1982 and did his graduate work at Fordham University, attaining his MA in History in 1987.

    Mr. Murphy taught English and History at Rice High School in Harlem from 1986 - 1997 and at All Hallows High School in the Bronx from 1997 - 1999. He then worked as a history teacher at The Frederick Douglass Academy in Harlem from 1999 - 2020. He taught AP European History for 20 of those 21 years at FDA.

    Mr. Murphy attained National Board Certification in 2013 and was awarded the Swift Moore Teacher of the Year Award from Amherst College that same year. He was chosen as part of the first cohort of The AP College Board Advocates in 2014.

    Mr. Murphy also established The Uptown Educational Foundation in 2017 which is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to providing academic resources to underserved high school students.

    On today's episode on The Professional Winner Podcast we have Jamal Hodge. Hodge is a multi-award-winning filmmaker and writer who is a sitting Board Member of Harlem Film House and Axs Lab. Since May of 2016, Jamal Hodge's films have been an official selection in over 100 Film Festivals, and have won over 50 awards including The Vanguard Award (Best of The Fest) at the Hip Hop Film Festival (2020), Best Director at The Chelsea Film Festival (2020) and Best Director at GenreBlast (2020). In 2018 he directed the first season of Investigation Discovery Channel's Primal Instinct' and came on as a Producer on the Animated feature film 'Pierre The Pigeon Hawk' (starring Will.I,.Am, Jennifer Hudson, and Whoopi Goldberg) raising half a million dollars of investment. He is co-directing/producing a PBS docu-series called Southern Storytellers (2022) with Peabody-winning producer/director Craig Renaud.
    As a writer, Hodge is an active member of The Horror Writer's Association and The SFPA, being nominated for a 2021 Rhysling Award for his Poem 'Fermi's Spaceship', While his poem 'The Silence of God' placed in the 2021 Horror Writer Association Showcase. His screenplay 'Mourning Meal' won 5 awards (including best short screenplay at NYC Horror Film Festival 2018) while his poetry is featured in the historical all-black issue of Star*line Magazine (issue 43.4) and has been featured in SPACE AND TIME Magazine, PENUMBRIC Speculative Fiction Magazine, and in the CHIRAL MAD 5 anthology alongside such greats as Linda Addison, Sharee Renee Thomas, & Josh Malerman
    Motivated by his accomplishments, Hodge has blossomed to take his talents to the next level. Jamal's tone of work, or what he calls, "Inspirational Darkness", can be described as a melding of genres. The Psychological Horror, Thriller, and Inspirational genres are Jamal's usual forte of filmmaking. His mission is to add value to people's lives through his unique brand of cinema. He's excited to continue to grow outstanding partnerships to create memorable and impactful cinematic experiences for audiences across the world.

    Amaris Burgos graduated from College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor's in nursing. She has been a NICU nurse for a total of 12 and a half years. She started her nursing career at Westchester Medical Center's Children's Hospital and then went on to work at Columbia Presbyterian's Children's Hospital before ending up at NYU. Amaris is currently in school to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

    Nadine Burgos started her career working in New York Presbyterian's Psych Department. She has also worked as a personal trainer before becoming an NYPD officer in 2013. Nadine has worked in a specialized Anti-Crime unit for a few years and then was promoted to detective in the summer of 2020. She currently still serves as a detective for The Bronx.

    From 1999-2003, DiCo competed on the Stuyvesant HS Speech & Debate Team, where he was a state finalist in Extemporaneous Speaking and a national finalist in Congressional Debate. After graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy from Yale, he joined Teach for America and started debate teams at the Frederick Douglass Academy and Achievement First Brooklyn High School . With the support of alumni and other Brooklyn coaches, he founded the BDL in 2017. DiCo is a recipient of several teaching prizes including the Teach for America Alumni Award for Excellence and the Robert M. Sherman Young Pioneers Award. He has been named a Master Teacher by the Achievement First charter school network and a First Diamond Coach by the National Speech & Debate Association.

    Episode 8 | Cheryl Loves Life & Marriage To A Prison Escapee Jan 21, 2022

    On Episode 8 of The Professional Winner Podcast we have the amazing Cheryl Love. Mrs. Love is the wife of Bobby Love.
    Bobby and Cheryl Love's incredible story was shared on 'Humans of New York'. In 2015, the FBI knocked on the door of Bobby Love - a convict from North Carolina who escaped prison, changed his name and led a double life for years that his family had no clue about.

    "It was just a normal morning. Almost exactly five years ago... And we get this knock on the door," his wife, Cheryl Love, recalled in the first of a series of 11 posts shared by the popular Instagram Page Humans of New York.

    Recounting the incident, Cheryl said that one of the officers who barged into her Brooklyn home asked her husband his name. When he answered "Bobby Love", they asked him to reveal his real name.

    "And I heard him say something real low. And they responded: 'You've had a long run'," she said.

    Bobby Love, as Cheryl soon discovered, was not her husband's real name. His name was actually Walter Miller, and he had escaped prison in 1977, made it to New York, married and raised a family until authorities tracked him down in 2015. For over 37 years, he had managed to lead a double life.

    Episode 7 | Star Baritone Opera Singer Joshua Conyers Jan 14, 2022

    On Episode 7 of The Professional Winner Podcast we have my brother Joshua Conyers. Baritone Joshua Conyers has been hailed by Opera News with “a deliciously honeyed baritone that would seduce anyone” and The New York Times as having “a sonorous baritone” that “wheedled and seduced.” Mr. Conyers, a native of Bronx, NY, is quickly being championed for his captivating performances as he continues to be recognized as one the promising young dramatic voices of today.
    Mr. Conyers was an Atlanta Opera Studio Player at The Atlanta Opera for the 2020-2021 season. Joshua performed the roles of Jackie "Tiger" Brown in Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill’s The Threepenny Opera, Tonio in Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, and covered Kaiser Overall in Viktor Ullman’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis. Mr. Conyers was a member of the Cafritz Young Artists of Washington National Opera, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. Joshua performed the roles of First Priest in The Magic Flute, John Sorel in The Consul, covered the Reverend in Jeanine Tesori’s Blue, Jim and Jake (cover) in Porgy and Bess, Giorgio Germont in La traviata, British Major in Silent Night, Donkey in The Lion, the Unicorn, and Me, and Zaretsky in Eugene Onegin. As a Filene Artist at Wolf Trap Opera, he performed Porgy in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess: A Concert of Songs, Ramiro in Maurice Ravel’s L’heure espagnole, Musiklehrer in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Monterone in Rigoletto, Count Capulet in Roméo et Juliette, and the Baritone Soloist in Bernstein’s Songfest which was recorded by Naxos Records. Mr. Conyers fulfilled his residency as a Benenson Young Artist at Palm Beach Opera performing Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, Marullo in Rigoletto, Sciarrone in Tosca, Captain in Candide, and covering the Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. In the summer of 2021, Joshua was a Fleming Artist at the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS performing the role of Sprecher in W. A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte alongside world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming, under the baton of maestro Patrick Summers. For the 2021-2022 season, Mr. Conyers will make his house and role debut as Policeman 3/Congregant 3 in Tesori’s Blue with Seattle Opera, Reginald in Anthony Davis’ X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X with Michigan Opera Theatre, co-commissioned with Opera Omaha, Schaunard in Puccini’s La bohème with Annapolis Opera, and house debut at Opera Memphis performing the role of Tonio in Pagliacci.

Her recording of James Matheson’s Times Alone with Yarlung Records was hailed by MusicWeb International for, “…shapely, nuanced voicings and emotional urgency...a striking directness.” New Voices, the Billboard Classical Top-Ten best-selling CD including her recording of Glen Roven’s The Vineyard Songs with pianist Michael Brofman was credited by Opera News, “Laura Strickling’s lovely diction and warm, clear sound bring attractive immediacy to this cycle.” She can also be heard on New American Song @SongFest, performing Jake Heggie’s Edna St. Vincent Millay with pianist Dimitri Dover, and on The Garden: Songs and Vocal Chamber Music of Tom Cipullo, performing the landmark song cycle Of a Certain Age with pianist Liza Stepanova.
    A Chicago native, Ms. Strickling is an avid traveler, having lived in Morocco, where she studied classical Arabic at the Arabic Language Institute of Fez, and Kabul, Afghanistan, where her husband was the founding chair of the Department of Law at the American University of Afghanistan. She currently makes her home in St. Thomas, U. S. Virgin Islands.

    Episode 1 | Former Bank Robber and Prison Escapee Bobby Love Dec 13, 2021

    Episode 1 of The Professional Winner Podcast is finally here. We start the podcast off with an amazing guest Bobby Love. Bobby and Cheryl Love were living in Brooklyn, happily married for decades, when the FBI and NYPD appeared at their door and demanded to know from Bobby, in front of his shocked wife and children: “What is your name? No, what’s your real name?”

    Bobby’s thirty-eight-year secret was out. As a Black child in the Jim Crow South, Bobby found himself in legal trouble before his 14th birthday. Sparked by the desperation he felt in the face of limited options and the pull of the streets, Bobby became a master thief. He soon found himself facing a thirty-year prison sentence. But Bobby was smarter than his jailers. He escaped, fled to New York, changed his name, and started a new life as “Bobby Love.” During that time, he worked multiple jobs to support his wife and their growing family, coached Little League, attended church, took his kids to Disneyland, and led an otherwise normal life. Then it all came crashing down. Bobby Love highly anticipated book The Redemption of Bobby Love just came out and it is an unbelievable but true account of building a life from scratch, the pain of festering secrets in marriage, and the unbreakable bonds of faith and love that keep a family together.
    Bobby has also just recently agreed to a TV deal with Disney and FX for a TV show about his amazing life which will be produced by greats such as Kerry Washington and Octavia Spencer.
