    The Process Podcast

On The Process Podcast, we explore the ineffable transformational power of trusting the process through honest conversations with people from all walks of life.

Each episode goes beyond accomplishments to uncover the people, places, relationships, and defining moments that shape who we become. Our guests share stories of triumph and failure, faith and uncertainty, transition and growth, revealing that life’s greatest lessons are often found in the moments we never planned for.

At its heart, The Process is a conversation about becoming. We hope listeners discover that they are not alone in their own journey, find meaning in their lived experiences, and recognize that every season—whether joyful or difficult—has the potential to shape the person they are becoming.

    TRUST THE PROCESS.

Episode 002: Who is Amonté Martin? Jul 07, 2018
    Show notes

In this special episode of The Process, the microphone is turned around as co-host Quayvon Taylor sits down with Amonte Martin to explore the experiences that shaped the person behind the podcast. What unfolds isn't simply a biography—it's a conversation about resilience, identity, purpose, and the winding road that often leads us exactly where we're meant to be. Growing up between Tallahassee and Orlando, Amonte reflects on the influence of his grandparents, the lessons he learned from his mother, and the challenges of being raised in a single-parent household. He shares what it was like growing up on the campus of Florida A&M University through his grandfather's work, while also navigating financial hardship, walking to school, and watching his mother work multiple jobs to create opportunities for their family. Those experiences instilled a deep appreciation for sacrifice, perseverance, and education long before he fully understood their significance. The conversation also explores some of Amonte's most defining setbacks, including graduating high school with a 0.5 GPA, earning his GED, and learning how to rebuild his confidence after believing his dreams had slipped away. Rather than allowing failure to define him, those moments became the foundation for a journey that led him back to Florida A&M University, graduate school, and ultimately earning a Ph.D. Along the way, he discovered that success isn't determined by where you begin—it's shaped by the decisions you make after life doesn't go according to plan. This episode isn't about having all the answers. It's about embracing the reality that growth is rarely linear, and that every setback has the potential to become part of a much bigger story. If you've ever questioned whether your past disqualifies you from your future, this conversation is a reminder that your greatest challenges may become the very experiences that prepare you for your purpose. Because before there was The Process Podcast, there was someone learning to trust the process himself.
