    The Podcasting Party

Are you wanting to start a podcast but are overwhelmed by the amount of information about podcasting?

Are you confused by all the technical language, and technology?

Are you frustrated by how expensive equipment and the costs associated with podcasting can be?

Or do you have a podcast?

Are you stressed out trying to create content, record, edit, and upload your episodes each week?

Are you frustrated by the lack of growth you see even with all your hard work and dedication?

Are you burnt out and ready to quit?

Then you’re in the right place. The Podcasting Party is a podcast for podcasters about podcasting.

As a podcast coach, I have seen a huge theme emerge with the women I coach: potential podcasters believe in the message they want to share through their podcast but they lack the confidence in themselves when it comes to learning the technology and starting their podcast. They spend months trying to figure it out, google their way through, and by the time they make it to me, they are stressed out, overwhelmed, and frustrated.

Beginner podcasters come to me burnt out and ready to throw in the towel. The message they once believed in is now dwarfed by the overwhelm and frustration they feel having to produce a show each week.

I’m on a mission to help potential and current podcasters take the stress, overwhelm, and frustration out of podcasting.

I believe that podcasting one big party, and you’re invited. Come join me and let’s put the party back into podcasting!

What Stage PodcastHER are you? Sep 14, 2020
    Show notes

I have been waiting and working on this content for you and I finally get to share it with you in today's episode! We are talking all about the five different podcasting stages.

This is something that I've created to help you, my listeners, to help you understand where you are at in the podcasting process. In the past I've broke this down as like potential beginner, intermediate, and seasoned podcasters. But the problem with those terms or with the using those names for different stages, is that well, number one, they're not very fun, right?

Nobody wants to raise their hand and say, "Hey, I'm, I'm a beginner podcast." Right? I mean, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a beginner podcast - we all have to start somewhere. But I think sometimes we're hesitant to own up to the fact that we are beginners or not further along than we are.

So I've come up with five different stages with really fun names. And I'm going to explain each one to you in today's episode.

If you're unsure what stage you are, I have a super fun quiz that you can take! If you're wondering I don't know which stage I'm in, then you can go take this to find out which stage of PodcastHER you are!

How to Pick a Podcast Name Aug 31, 2020
    Show notes

Today, we are going to jump into a topic that I get asked about all the time. And to be honest for a while, I put off creating this episode, even though you guys were asking for it, because this is such a hard topic to give you like a formula for because picking a name is so deeply personal.

However, I do think there are some best practices and steps you can take to create a podcast name that is not only going to work for you that you love, but it's also going to attract your ideal listener because in the end, that's what a name does, right?

It allows us to convey to our audience what our show is about, then hook them and bring them in. It's also a great way to use SEO when people search for this topic in Apple podcasts or on Google. And so that's what we're going to jump into today. Are you ready? Okay, let's do this.

    Pitch Yourself Aug 24, 2020
    Show notes

Have you ever thought, how do I grow my show? I know you have, because I hear it all the time. You know what? I think about it too.

That's the whole reason why we have a podcast, right? We have a message on our heart to share with others. So how do we get that message out in front of the people who need to hear it the most?

Well, the number one way that you can grow your podcast and increase your listeners is by being a guest on other podcasts.

And that's what we're going to talk about today: how to pitch yourself to be a guest on other podcasts. I'm going to walk you through the email template you need and exactly what components are in it.

All this week in The Podcasting Party FB Group I'm hosting PITCHAPALOOZA

Over the course of 5 days, in just 30 minutes or less we are going to walk through how to:

    • Day 1: Determine what shows are the right ones to pitch to.
    • Day 2: Connect with those shows so your email gets read and responded to.
    • Day 3: Create your email pitch template: I’ll give you everything you need to include, as well as a sample email to use
    • Day 4: Customize your pitch email and send it!
    • Day 5: Best practices to follow up and maximize your guest appearance.

Taking Risks with Carrie Grace Aug 17, 2020
    Show notes

Today's episode is sure to inspire and delight. Our topic is taking risks with my guest: Carrie Grace. Carrie is a motivational speaker, owner of The Kindness Socks, and all around encourager. Carrie and I cover a lot of ground in such a short episode but if you're going to walk away with one main point from this episode I hope it's this: take more risks.

You will not believe some of the things Carrie has done in her life, just because she took the risk and asked!

In this episode Carrie and I discuss:

    • how to do something that seems unimaginable
    • the question to ask to achieve it
    • what to do if you take a risk and fail
    • and the one thing you should do when you pitch yourself to be a guest on another podcast

Guys, this is one of my favorite podcast interviews. If Carrie doesn't encourage you to dream big AND take some big risks to accomplish those dreams I'm not sure what will.

Get a pen and notebook or your notes app ready because you're going to want to take notes!

As well as some tips and tricks I have.

Okay. So let's jump in to this episode all about how to make time to podcast.

All About Podcast Editing Aug 03, 2020
    Show notes

I am so excited about today's episode, it is all about podcast editing and we are literally covering it all today, friends.

Last week I had on two fellow podcast editors to discuss what podcasts editors do, & why we charge so much.

But, what if you want to edit your own show or you need to edit your own show? What then? Well, I'm glad you asked. That is what we're talking about on today's episode, we are going to discuss the pros and cons of both hiring an editor versus editing your own show. And then I'm also going to discuss some of the tools and resources that you're going to need if you want to edit your own show.

I wanted to invite you to join my No Edit 7-Day Challenge. I'm going to walk you through the four steps to get amazing sounding episodes with no editing. That's right. Zero editing.
