When I had my *first slow season* as a photographer, I thought my career was OVER.

I started thinking I did something wrong, that I was a failure, that no one liked my work anymore, that my photos sucked, and that I was never going to book another job again. I was doomed...this was the end.

Dramatic? Maybe. Relatable? I think so.

My dream seemed so unattainable that I didn't even want to admit it to myself. The sad reality is that sometimes our fears are big enough to stop us from pursuing our passions all together.

Meet Dee Davidson — an incredible photographer, videographer AND a Photographer's Path Alumni. Dee didn't even have a camera when she joined our course, The Photographer's Path, and less than 6 months later she quit her corporate job to pursue photography full time. Dee is a perfect example of what can happen when you face your fears and follow your dreams.

In today's episode, Dee shares how she made time for her passion even though she was working a demanding 9-5 corporate job as an analyst. Her determination and drive took her from a life that left her feeling drained and unhappy, to a life she never imagined was possible.

Has your photography business ever left you feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or like you're just running around in circles? It's like you're working as hard as you can while simultaneously feeling guilty for not doing enough. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's ever felt that way. The struggle is real.

Most of the time I want to do everything in my photography business all at once, perfectly, and without stress (let's all lol at me for that).

Sometimes it comes from a place of genuinely loving what I do so much that I don't want to stop and come back to it later. But there were many times in the beginning of my business where my tendency was to do everything myself and never take a break because I felt guilty if I did take one.

I've felt like I had to do things immediately, or else I wasn't worthy of being a photographer and owning a business.

I've felt like rest wasn't an option.

And for me — for all of us — that leads to burnout + overwhelm.

So if you've had times where you feel a lot less like a professional photographer and a lot more like a stressed out photographer desperately in need of a break today's episode is for you.
