    The People’s Court Podcast

    The honorable Judge Marilyn Milian presides over the four-time Emmy award winning “The People’s Court.” For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with “The People’s Court Podcast.”

    “The People’s Court Podcast” draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian’s decisions – based on current law – are final and binding.

    Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.

    Show notes

    First, the plaintiff claims the defendant illegally sublet her apartment to a tenant who trashed and damaged the place, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant says the plaintiff agreed to the roommate. The defendant believes that since she didn't cause the damage, she doesn't owe the plaintiff a dime.

    Then, the plaintiff bought a horse. However, the horse didn't look anything like the photo, and his hip was injured, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists the plaintiff agreed to buy the horse sight unseen. Additionally, the defendant argues the horse wasn't actually injured. He was just stiff from being on the road for so long.

    Plus, the plaintiff says the defendant, the father of her grandchildren, borrowed her car. However, the defendant allegedly damaged the vehicle, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims he maintained the car just fine while he had it.

    'Doggy Damage' & 'Hitting a Sour Note' & 'Being Unneighborly ' Aug 31, 2026
    Show notes

    First, the plaintiff claims the defendant's dog injured hers, so she's suing for missed work and vet bills. The defendant says he and the plaintiff agreed to split the vet bills because both their dogs were unleashed. The defendant doesn't believe he owes any more money.

    Then, the plaintiff says the defendant hired him to play in his band. However, the defendant hasn't yet paid him, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant says everyone in the band volunteered to play for free.

    Plus, the plaintiff has lived in her apartment for 40 years. However, the defendant, her neighbor, has caused damage to her home, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff is exaggerating the damages.

    'Scooting The Issue' & 'Scalping a Customer' & 'Poor Pawning' Aug 28, 2026
    Show notes

    First, the plaintiff says the defendant's daughter crashed a scooter into her, causing injuries. The plaintiff is suing for medical bills. The defendant insists the plaintiff walked into his daughter, and it was 100% the plaintiff's fault.

    Then, the plaintiffs purchased baseball game tickets from the defendant, but the barcodes were already used, and they couldn't get in. The plaintiffs are suing for a refund. The defendant insists he doesn't even sell tickets, and this lawsuit is bogus. The defendant is countersuing for slander.

    Plus, the plaintiff pawned his necklace at the defendant's shop. The defendant sold it right under his nose, so the plaintiff is suing for the value of the necklace. The defendant argues that the plaintiff didn't make any payments on his property, so he sold the necklace.

    'Letting a Lover Down' & 'Quitting on a Quilter ' & 'Causing a Lot of Smoke' Aug 27, 2026
    Show notes

    First, the plaintiff used to date the defendant. The plaintiff purchased an iPhone and ring for the defendant. After their breakup, the defendant said she'd return the ring and iPhone but never did, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists the plaintiff gave her all sorts of gifts during their relationship. The defendant believes the plaintiff is just mad that they broke up. The defendant is countersuing for the deposit on the ring and defamation.

    Then, the plaintiff says she was hired by the defendant to make quilts. The defendant hasn't yet paid the plaintiff, so she's suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff didn't listen to his instructions, so he doesn't want the quilts and refuses to pay.

    Plus, the plaintiff hired the defendant to install a chimney in his house. The chimney is in violation, and now the plaintiff has to pay for the proper certification, so he's suing. The defendant claims he told the plaintiff he would do the work, but the plaintiff had to get the proper permits and talk to an architect.

    'Weeding Out on a Landscaper' & 'Not Being a Friend Indeed' & 'Corrupting a Cover' Aug 26, 2026

    First, the plaintiff is a landscaper who did work for the defendant. He claims the defendant hasn’t paid him, so he’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant thinks the plaintiff did a terrible job, so he doesn’t think he should pay. He’s countersuing for repair work needed.

    Then, the plaintiff and defendant used to be friends for 20 years. She let the defendant register a car in her name, but he racked up an immense amount of parking tickets. She’s suing for the cost of the tickets. The defendant argues he paid the tickets, and he thinks the plaintiff is suing him for what she actually owes in tickets.

    Plus, the plaintiff brings his tenant to court. He says the defendant sat on his hot tub cover and ruined it, so he’s suing for the cost of repairs. The defendant denies breaking the cover.

    First, the plaintiff and defendant got into a fight when the plaintiff was driving them. She says the defendant hit her, grabbed the steering wheel, and they crashed. She’s suing for damages and personal injury. The defendant argues she never took the steering wheel and the car was just fine.

    Then, the plaintiff was walking his dog when the defendants’ dog lunged for his terrier. He says the other dog broke his dog’s leg. The defendants paid for the vet bills, but he’s suing for the cost of sunglasses and lost wages. The defendant thinks the plaintiff is extorting them.

    Plus, the plaintiff loaned the defendant money, and he got collateral in return. The defendant hasn’t repaid, so he’s suing. The defendant argues he told the plaintiff he could sell the collateral if he didn’t pay back in time.

    First, the plaintiffs bought a car from the defendant. They claim the defendant dismantled the check engine light to make it seem like it was usable. The car doesn’t work, so they’re suing for damages and their money back. The defendant argues they made a deal, and that’s that.

    Then, the plaintiff went to dinner at the defendant’s restaurant, and her expensive jacket was stolen. She’s suing for the cost of the jacket. The defendant argues he has a coat rack in the restaurant and it’s not his fault if something gets taken.

    Plus, the plaintiff hired the defendant to seal her windows with plywood because her house gets drafty in the winter. She learned the plaintiff was overcharging her, so she tried canceling the order. The plaintiff says the defendant wouldn’t give her the money back, so she’s suing. The defendant argues it’s not his fault she found someone else to do the work.

    Plus, the plaintiff went to visit his grandfather at a senior citizen’s center, and when he was there, someone backed their car into his. He says the defendant refuses to pay for the damages, so he’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff was parked illegally. He says he offered to pay for the broken taillight, but then the plaintiff came back with exorbitant estimates.

The defendant says he paid for most things when they dated, and she’s just upset that he’s dating someone new. He’s countersuing for the cost of an iPad.

    Then, the plaintiff brings her aunt to court. She purchased a car from the defendant, but she says her aunt tried getting the radio back and even took the lug nuts out of the tire. She’s suing for repairs and the cost of the car. The defendant argues they agreed on an as-is sale, so a deal is a deal.

    Plus, the plaintiff rented an apartment to the defendant, and it turned into a disaster. He kicked the defendant out because she stopped paying rent. He says the defendant left the place a total mess, so he’s suing for damages, eviction fees, unpaid rent. The defendant claims she doesn’t owe because she believes it was a ploy to have a family member move in instead.

    Plus, the plaintiff was involved in a car accident, and the defendant's tow company went to retrieve her vehicle. The defendant didn't tow the vehicle to where she asked, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists the cops told him to tow the truck to his shop.
