    Gary Burr is a master songwriter. A singer, guitarist, recording artist, I’ve had the pleasure to be in attendance when he’s performing, but Gary Burr’s songs have found their way into the heart and mind of other singers and it’s a very diverse list of recording artists who have interpreted his songs including Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr, Don Williams, Garth Brooks, Janis Ian, Joe Cocker and a lot of modern country artists. As a recording artist, Gary Burr has recorded and released his known and uncut songs. A hit writer and inductee of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Burr also teaches a Songwriting Master Class.

    One of the greats in American music, Dr. John has passed away. Every bit an icon. The legendary Dr. John was born Malcolm John Rebennack, also called The Nite Tripper, he was a singer, pianist, songwriter, composer, recording artist, an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, the recipient of 6 Grammys, he wrote and performed a very unique blend of music that frequently had the flavor of his native New Orleans.

    This backstage interview was recorded and filmed at the Variety Playhouse after one of his wildly entertaining concerts. You will hear the words of a down to earth, kind man. It's on The Paul Leslie Hour.

    On this episode of The Paul Leslie Hour, we are honored to be joined by a creative force. J.D. Andrew is a songwriter, a Grammy winning recording engineer, a producer, a guitarist and recording artist. Some of his credits include working with The Rolling Stones, The Pussycat Dolls, the late Guy Clark, Kanye West, Will Kimbrough who was a guest on this show and many more. A very eclectic experience. Along with Bud Thornton, J. D. Andrew founded the rock band The Boxmasters back in 2007. This is a prolific band, especially if you considering modern standards. Along with touring across the country, they've recorded a great deal, including the latest album “Speck” produced with the late and legendary record engineer and producer Geoff Emerick noted for his work with the Beatles.

    259 - Greg "Fingers" Taylor

    This interview was conducted with the harmonica legend Greg “Fingers” Taylor on September 1, 2006 in Northeast Georgia. Taylor released a total of five studio albums including “Harpoon Man,” “Chest Pains,” “New Fingerprints,” and “Hi Fi Baby,” as well as two compilation albums “Greatest Hits” and “Back to the Blues.” Taylor was also a singer and played keyboards. He was one of the original members of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and continued on until 2000.

    Taylor wrote the song “Big Rig,” which Buffett recorded and also co-wrote the song “Miss You So Badly” with Buffett. In addition to appearing on the majority of Buffett’s albums he has recorded with James Taylor, Chris LeDoux, Jerry Jeff Walker, Mac McAnally, Little Milton, Al Kooper, Jimmy Hall, Tim Krekel, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Michael Nesmith, Bo Diddley, Larry Raspberry, Debbie Davies, Don Nix and The Tams.

    On his 67th birthday, we are proud to present the digitally remastered "Fingers Taylor tape." In this interview , the story of Greg “Fingers” Taylor is told in his own words.

    Ervin Drake could be considered one of the greatest songwriters of The American Songbook. He lived from April 3, 1919 – January 15, 2015. This was a very candid interview and his wife Edith shared her perspectives as well. Some of the Standards Ervin Drake wrote include “I Believe” and “It Was a Very Good Year.” He also wrote English lyrics to the song “Tico-Tico” and “Quando, Quando.” The songs of Ervin Drake have been recorded Some of the most celebrated singers and musicians of our time including Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Frankie Laine, Duke Ellington, Steve Lawrence, Diana Ross, the Kingston Trio, and Perry Como…just to name a few. Ervin Drake was also a visual artist and has also worked as a television producer. He also worked with such legendary acts as Jackie Gleason and Milton Berle. He was the President of the American Guild of Authors and Composers for many years and was a recognized person in New York’s theatre and cabaret scene.

    Today is the 56th birthday of Adam Carolla! This interview with Adam Carolla was originally broadcast on The Paul Leslie Hour during the radio days to promote one of Carolla's comedy shows at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Adam Carolla is a radio personality, television host, stand up comedian, writer, voice over talent, actor and author. He hosts The Adam Carolla Show, a talk show distributed as a podcast on his very own network. He is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the "Most Downloaded Podcast." He also hosted the "The Car Show," a television program which recently debuted on Speed TV.

    Adam Carolla was the co-host of the popular radio call-in show "Loveline" from 1995 to 2005. Along with Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla hosted and began the Comedy Central series "The Man Show." His friendship and working relationship with Jimmy Kimmel continues to this day as Adam Carolla is a writer for the late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.

    Adam Carolla created and appeared on the Comedy Central series "Crank Yankers" He also hosted the late night talk show "Too Late with Adam Carolla" and the home improvement show "The Adam Carolla Project" which aired on The Learning Channel. Adam Carolla has also done voice over work for cartoons including Disney's "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command," "Family Guy" and "Drawn Together." He is also the voice of Virgil in the independent film "Save Virgil." He also co-wrote and co-produced the independent film "The Hammer."

    John Primerano is a one of a kind, multi-talented creator on this episode of The Paul Leslie Hour. John Primerano is a Philadelphia-based singer, pianist, songwriter, recording artist, author, actor and entertainer. Along with his performances of the entire book of the Golden Age of Ausic, he has recorded an acclaimed album entitled "Somewhere South of Heaven," it features his interpretations of the American Songbook, but also his own original compositions. Primerano is also an actor having worked in such films as "Philadelphia," "Mannequin" and he's worked with Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky Balboa" and "Creed II."
