    376 - Roger Murrah

Roger Murrah is someone I have wanted to interview for years. A veteran songwriter who has written so many songs known and loved by people for decades. He's been writing since his youth. Some of the songs he wrote (and there are so many) would include "Don't Rock the Jukebox" recorded by Alan Jackson, "I'm in a Hurry (And Don't Know Why)" recorded by Alabama, "We're in this Love Together" recorded by Al Jarreau and could be considered a pop standard. Other artists who have recorded his songs include Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty, Steve Wariner, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers, Wynonna, Ronnie Milsap, Clay Walker and so many others. It's a rare, in-depth exclusive interview with a world class songwriter. Roger Murrah is right here on The Paul Leslie Hour.

374 - Chaz McDonald - ZZ Top That Little Ol' Band from Texas

Everyone's been talking about the new ZZ Top documentary from Eagle Rock Entertainment entitled "ZZ TOP: THAT LITTLE OL' BAND FROM TEXAS" coming out everywhere on February 28, 2020. It's one of those films that grabs you to the point that you sit down to watch a few minutes and before you know it you've watched the whole feature! I watched my advance copy twice. In case you've been living under a rock for the past 50 years, ZZ Top is a blues rock trio absolutely unprecedented in American music. One of the top 100-selling artists or bands with more than 50 million records sold. This documentary tells the story of the band and features great interviews with Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard.

Luckily, I know one of the foremost ZZ Top aficionados: blues and rock vocalist/instrumentalist (as well as writer, humorist and storyteller) Chaz McDonald! Chaz dropped in on _The Paul Leslie Hour _and having both watched the documentary we discussed it. Chaz McDonald has been a fan of the band for decades and we unapologetically hope the commentary inspires you to check out the film.
