    Les Reed O.B.E., was one of the greatest contributors to popular music and the songs he co-wrote are all of the evidence you need.

    “It’s Not Unusual” is the signature song of Tom Jones, and “Delilah,” recorded by Jones is one of Tom Jones’ most beloved songs. Les Reed had a hand in both of these.

    “There’s a Kind of Hush,” is one of the songs most associated with Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits, but there’s more.

    Les Reed has written songs recorded by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Englebert Humperdinck, the Dave Clark Five, Connie Francis, Petula Clark, The Carpenters, Barry Manilow and too many others to list.

    Janet McMahan is an uplifting presence, as you’ll soon experience in this interview on The Paul Leslie Hour. A pianist, songwriter and performing artist, she is a producer of everything from musical works, audio books and dramatic works. She’s toured as Roy Orbison’s keyboard player.

    As a musician she’s worked as a session keyboard player and vocalist. McMahan’s in-studio credits include Dolly Parton, Steve Winwood, John Denver and Carrie Underwood to name just a few. As a songwriter, her songs have been recorded by Lynn Anderson, Sonny James, Frank Sinatra, Jr. and Big Bird. How’s that for variety? Janet McMahan has published more than 1,500 songs.

    However, Janet McMahan gets her greatest satisfaction performing for elderly people at nursing homes. Her enthusiasm is a great source of joy and her raison d’être.

    Fred Koller is one of those guys, you just know he's interesting. Instantly! Then you get to talk to him. A lot of people know him as a songwriter. He's also a singer, guitarist and a performer. Koller has been active in the music business since 1973.

    Fred Koller has written some really poignant songs, but also some novelty numbers like "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian," and "Elvis was a Narc." He's had cuts from major artists in the world of folk and country music. Everyone from Jerry Lee Lewis to Bobby Bare and Loretta Lynn have recorded his work.

    Koller is also well known as a bibliophile! He owns the Rhino Booksellers in Nashville, Tennessee where one can find many old and rare books. He's also written a few titles that are out there in the world.

    Paula Nelson is also a soulful singer. As a recording artist, she's released a number of albums. Last year she interpreted some great songs. You can look up the singles "The Reason and the Rhyme," "To Be Alone with You," and "Brand New Key." She's also written songs, which she has recorded herself as well as other artists.

    Paula Nelson has shared the stage and recorded with people like Ray Wylie Hubbard and her father Willie Nelson.
