Artemis has confronted Caitlyn with her true identity, leaving her desperate to explain her way out of a deadly confrontation.

And somewhere in the depths of the mansion, a tortured voice gibbers and mewls.

With the revelation fast approaching, will one last gambit by Koji be enough to give the operatives a chance of success -- or even survival? We hope you enjoy it even a fraction as much as we've enjoyed recording it thus far. If you *have* enjoyed it, please consider leaving us an iTunes review, as this is the best way for us to reach a wider audience.

Director's Note the Second: This episode had us encountering some issues with microphones; likely some radiant interference caused by Zach's telekinesis. Everything should be quite intelligible and listenable, but rest assured some of the rougher bits of vocal quality are not indicative of any long-term problems, and largely disappear as of next episode. The Operatives continue their investigation, attempting to determine the true aims of the Prophecy Children and the significance of Ben Weiss's occult theories. Meanwhile, rumors of strange voices in the night cast doubt on Isaiah's account of how the cult obtained Weiss's fortune.

But matters are made more complicated when Isaiah returns from his preparations to minister to his flock, and the investigation takes an uncertain turn when one of the cult's most trusted lieutenants reveals that they've discovered something about one of the Operatives...

After their strange encounter with the Lady Clothed in Crows, the ORPHEUS operatives make their way to the isolated mansion of the late Ben Weiss. There, they meet with representatives of the cult. As they attempt to ingratiate themselves to their suspicious hosts, it becomes apparent that Weiss's special effects artworks are treated as holy objects by the Prophecy Children, and that his bizarre work is deeply intertwined with their vision of a new age of enlightenment. Show notes

In this, our inaugural episode, we travel to 1969, as three operatives of the mysterious organization known as ORPHEUS are tasked with infiltrating a new age cult.

A sudden additional assignment to gather information on a local folk myth leaves doubts as to whether all is as it seems with the mission, the cult, or the operatives themselves...

Director's Note: This was the first time two of the three operatives had ever played The ORPHEUS Protocol, and thus involved a lot of learning at the table. I've elected to leave a lot of that table talk in, to help the listener grasp the basics of the system. Though there will always be table talk, it will become somewhat less prevalent in later episodes.
