Miami opens the season on the road, and the guys break down every angle of Friday night's trip to Stanford before the picks come in. Ro, Scoop and Toast get into the number seven Hurricanes laying 24 and a half against a Cardinal team missing four cornerbacks and a chunk of their starting front, plus what Stanford's surprisingly efficient outing against Hawaii actually means heading into this one.

From there it's a full breakdown of the Miami offensive line battle up front, where last year's starters are gone and two true freshman guards could see the field together for the first time. Darian Mensah gets the Heisman-watch treatment, with Josh Pate's early top-10 quarterback rankings sparking some pushback, and the crew lays out why Shannon Dawson's scheme is finally built for a guy who can push the ball downfield.

#487: Miami Kicks Off Next Week | Jam it in the Muffler Aug 27, 2026

It's the last show of the offseason and Ro, Scoop and Toast run back the Nick Saban and Mario Cristobal audio that dropped the same day last week, then get into whether the ACC has enough teams built to actually go toe-to-toe with the SEC. The take: Mario might be part of the problem, since Miami is currently sitting on eight of the ACC's top 10 recruits and starving the rest of the conference.

From there the guys hit their nationwide storylines heading into the year — Arch Manning and whether Texas finally breaks through, a Virginia Tech team they're genuinely excited about under James Franklin, and the Florida State coaching search with no obvious answer once Norvell is gone. It's the last show of the offseason and Ro, Scoop and Toast run back the Nick Saban and Mario Cristobal audio that dropped the same day last week, then get into whether the ACC has enough teams built to actually go toe-to-toe with the SEC. The take: Mario might be part of the problem, since Miami is currently sitting on eight of the ACC's top 10 recruits and starving the rest of the conference.

From there the guys hit their nationwide storylines heading into the year — Arch Manning and whether Texas finally breaks through, a Virginia Tech team they're genuinely excited about under James Franklin, and the Florida State coaching search with no obvious answer once Norvell is gone. Things get off to a rough start when a national anthem cover sends the guys down a Clarabelle the Cow rabbit hole they never fully recover from. From there it's live TV blunders (a baseball player who ran a full home run trot before finding out he got robbed, and a minor-league pitcher one strikeout dance away from a hamstring injury), a QVC wig segment with an unfortunate choice of words, and a deep dive into Hollywood, Florida's monthly nude steakhouse dinner — yes, it's a real place, and yes, Local 10 sent a camera crew.

Then it's Five Questions: the highest-divorce-rate job or hobby, the scariest two animals you could fuse together, the harshest thing a parent ever said, the go-to excuse for getting off the phone, and the funniest comedy movie ever made — which somehow turns into a full breakdown of the Spider-Man movie universe and Tom Holland's Odyssey.
