Derf BackDerf - The Kent State Killings

The Anti-war movement in the 1970s was one of the biggest or perceived as the biggest threat to the American society in generations.
Derf talks to Ed about his work and his current project, which is the killings of students during a anti-war protest in 1970, known as The Kent State Shootings.
The event and the cover up was one of the most obvious and blatant in your face operations, even for the US Government under Nixon.
The Kent State shootings (also known as the May 4 massacre and the Kent State massacre) resulted in the killing of four and wounding of nine unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard, on the Kent State University campus. The shootings took place on May 4, 1970, during a peace rally opposing the expanding involvement of the Vietnam War into Cambodia by United States military forces as well as protesting the National Guard presence on campus. This incident marked the first time a student was killed in an anti-war gathering in United States history.
Derf Backderf, is an American cartoonist. He is most famous for his graphic novels, especially My Friend Dahmer, the international bestseller which won an Angoulême Prize, and earlier for his comic strip The City, which appeared in a number of alternative newspapers from 1990 to 2014. In 2006 Derf won the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for cartooning. Backderf has been based in Cleveland, Ohio, for much of his career.
His award winning book, Kent State is out now.

We have to empower ourselves to take this government back from only a handful of selfish and greedy individuals, who have proven that they only care about making more and more money. Hunter Biden Lap Top Update

Ed gives an update on the hunter Biden lap top after getting further corroboration from fmr CIA whistleblower.
It is alleged, Hunter Biden, the surviving son of the President, dropped off a laptop at a computer store to be repaired, and emails and photos were discovered on it, some involving his father.
The pictures are claimed to show Biden Jnr smoking crack and taking part in various sex acts, some of the pictures have been claimed to even capture abuse.
But it was the trove of emails which political manipulators considered to be most damaging to the Democrats and Joe Biden; fervent denials were made that Biden ever spoke to his son about his business dealings with Ukraine businessmen, something it is claimed now to be known to be untrue, with the evidence provided in emails.
The news was reported on in The New York post, after the technician involved in the computer repair cloned the harddrive (a standard procedure in computer repair), discovered the material on the original drive, copied the drive and then sent it to the then Presidents’ legal mind, Rudi Guilliani. The alleged smoking-gun email The Post claims is contained in an email and details Hunter Biden setting up a meeting between his father and a Ukrainian energy firm executive. Hunter Biden was paid by the firm a finders’ fee, of sorts.
With current media being polarised and driven by clicks and ads, the whole conspiracy has become something of a behemoth, with people making their decision of which side of the fence they are on largely on their political inclinations; the provenance of the Post’s story has even been called into question.
In this solo show, Ed Opperman details his ongoing investigations into the affair, being one of the few investigators to have covered this story periodically over the last few years with facts and insight, despite efforts by powerful hands to discourage his efforts.

During the 2016 presidential election, many younger voters repudiated Hillary Clinton because of her husband's support for mass incarceration, banking deregulation and free-trade agreements that led many U.S. jobs to be shipped overseas. Warmonger: How Clinton's Malign Foreign Policy Launched the Trajectory from Bush II to Biden, shows that Clinton's foreign policy was just as bad as his domestic policy. Cultivating an image as a former anti-Vietnam War activist to win over the aging hippie set in his early years, as president, Clinton bombed six countries and, by the end of his first term, had committed U.S. troops to 25 separate military operations, compared to 17 in Ronald Reagan's two terms. Clinton further expanded America's covert empire of overseas surveillance outposts and spying and increased the budget for intelligence spending and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a CIA offshoot which promoted regime change in foreign nations. The latter was not surprising because, according to CIA operative Cord Meyer Jr., Clinton had been recruited into the CIA while a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, and as Governor of Arkansas in the 1980s he had allowed clandestine arms and drug flights to Nicaraguan counter-revolutionaries (Contras) backed by the CIA to be taken from Mena Airport in the western part of the state. Rather than being a time of tranquility when the U.S. failed to pay attention to the gathering storm of terrorism, as New York Times columnist David Brooks frames it, the Clinton presidency saw rising tensions among the U.S., China and Russia because of Clinton's malign foreign policies, and U.S. complicity in terrorist acts. In so many ways, Clinton's presidency set the groundwork for the disasters that were to follow under Bush II, Obama, Trump, and Biden. It was Clinton--building off of Reagan--who first waged a War on Terror ridden with double standards, one that adopted terror tactics, including extraordinary rendition, bombing and the use of drones. It was Clinton who cried wolf about human rights abuses and the need to protect beleaguered peoples from genocide to justify military intervention in a post-Cold War age. And it was Clinton's administration that pressed for regime change in Iraq and raised public alarm about the mythic WMDs--all while relying on fancy new military technologies and private military contractors to distance US shady military interventions from the public to limit dissent.
