Arthur Kane - THE LAST STORY: The Murder of an Investigative Journalist in Las Vegas
    May 6
THE LAST STORY: The Murder of an Investigative Journalist in Las Vegas is an exclusive deep dive into a chilling true tale of sex, ambition, retribution, and homicide.
Jeff German, a veteran Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter, was no stranger to controversy or the danger of his work. For more than four decades, he wrote stories relentlessly confronting the mob, corrupt politicians, and greedy bureaucrats. As a result, he was often threatened—enough that he and his friend and fellow investigative reporter, Arthur Kane, sometimes joked about reporting on these threats if they were ever acted upon.
Then, in the spring of 2022, German received a tip about abuses at a little-known county office. His subsequent investigation unearthed a scandalous, sexually incriminating video of a rising politician. The resulting stories in the Review-Journal ended the man’s political aspirations.

DECEIVED: An Investigative Memoir of the Zion Society Cult
    Jan 2, 2021
“Deceived” is a memoir of Detective Mike King’s 1991 investigation and the ultimate take-down of a deviant polygamous cult called the Zion Society. For over a decade, gossip swirled around northern Utah that a secretive group of religious zealots were buying up homes to take over a developing neighborhood in an Ogden community. The homes were known far and wide for their immaculately landscaped yards. Rumors spread that a well-known landscaper in the city had proclaimed himself to be a prophet of God and was being commanded to start his own secret religion that promoted polygamy. It was also believed these extremists were stockpiling weapons as part of their doomsday beliefs. In reality, the leader was directing some of the most repugnant crimes against women and children ever seen in the state. The hidden atrocities of the cult may never have been discovered if not for the courage of one of its members. Thirty years later, victims reconnected with each other and with the lead investigator to address the shortcomings of the criminal justice system regarding child victims.

Carl Colby : Son of CIA Director William Colby Aug 28, 2024

Carl Colby - The Man No One Knew
    Nov 1, 2022
Carl Colby’s father was William Colby, an American intelligence officer who served as Director of Central Intelligence from September 1973 to January 1976. During World War II Colby served with the Office of Strategic Services. After the war he joined the newly created Central Intelligence Agency.
Carl’s book deals with his father’s conscience following his involvement in the Vietnam war.
    From a newspaper article
The former director of the CIA in the 1970s killed himself because he was 'tortured' by U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War under his watch, his son has claimed.
William Colby 'had had enough' by the time he quit the organisation in 1975 and was wracked with guilt over his actions, said Carl Colby.
He later supposedly drowned himself on a solo canoe trip in a death that was ruled an accident by a coroner in 1996 - but sparked endless conspiracy theories.

The Altamont Speedway Free Festival was a counterculture-era rock concert held on Saturday, December 6, 1969, at the Altamont Speedway in northern California, between Tracy and Livermore. The event is best known for considerable violence, including the death of Meredith Hunter and three accidental deaths: two caused by a hit-and-run car accident and one by drowning in an irrigation canal. Four births were reported during the event.[2] Scores were injured, numerous cars were stolen and then abandoned, and there was extensive property damage.[3][4]
The concert featured, in order of appearance: Santana, Jefferson Airplane, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, with the Rolling Stones taking the stage as the final act.[5] The Grateful Dead were also scheduled to perform, but declined to play shortly before their scheduled appearance due to the increasing violence at the venue.[6] "That's the way things went at Altamont—so badly that the Grateful Dead, prime organizers and movers of the festival, didn't even get to play," staff at Rolling Stone magazine wrote in a detailed narrative on the event,[5] terming it in an additional follow-up piece "rock and roll's all-time worst day, December 6th, a day when everything went perfectly wrong."[7]
Approximately 300,000 people attended the concert, and some anticipated that it would be a "Woodstock West."[8] Filmmakers Albert and David Maysles shot footage of the event and incorporated it into a documentary film titled Gimme Shelter (1970).
