THE DUMOND AFFAIR = How Lies And Politics Freed A Killer Mar 08, 2025
    Show notes

In THE DUMOND AFFAIR: How Lies And Politics Freed a Killer,first-timeauthor D.R. Bartletteweaves a story of the political corruption and religious zealotry that gave birth to an anti-Bill Clinton conspiracy theory that led to the deaths of two women and, thirty-six years later, the birth of an insurrection.
The 1984 kidnapping and rape of a small-town cheerleader in southern Arkansas might seem like a tragic crime that was only notable because the local sheriff displayed her attacker’s severed testicles on his desk for months afterward. But when Ashley Stevens came forward to accuse Wayne Dumond, a 35-year-old murderer and serial rapist, she could never have imagined how her case would be thrust into the media spotlight.
An innocent teen, Stevens was attacked first by Dumond, and then by anti-Bill Clinton conspiracy theorists who accused her of lying for political reasons, but themselves lied to push their nefarious cause. Then former conservative Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee used his influence to push for Dumond’s release.
Once freed, Dumond went on to rape and murder two more women. But there’s more to this story.
As Bartlette points out, the forces that came together to free Dumond eventually metastasized into the Qanon cult that the National Security Agency labeled one of the biggest national security threats since 9/11. A movement that was at least partly responsible for the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2020.

Exclusive Interview with Joe Exotic Mar 08, 2025
    Show notes

Joe Exotic is in prison; but there is an file of the paperwork of an ongoing investigation he was set up and convicted on faulty and corrupt evidence. This file is currently heading towards the FBI and Justice department so the whole case, the statements and the verdict can be examined and, hopefully, justice will prevail. He talks to Ed Opperman from prison, and obviously call time is limited so we packed a lot into the allotted time.UpdateFor someone sentenced to 21 years behind bars, Joseph Maldonado, better known as Joe Exotic, sure manages to stay connected with the public. Between his updates on Instagram and his official website, JoeExoticOfficial.com, fans can keep up with what’s happening in his life. In February 2025, he called upon President Donald Trump — not for a full pardon (though he’d likely accept one) — but for "a commutation of [his] sentence to time served with no probation," to continue with his charity work.In October 2024, Joe also revealed that he had filed a marriage application with fellow inmate Jorge Marquez Flores, 33, whom he met while incarcerated at Federal Medical Center Fort Worth. However, Joe shared some heartbreaking news on March 3, 2025, saying his husband had been deported. "They took him away from me today to deport him 2 days before my birthday," Joe wrote on Instagram.

Ed is joined by Susan Sparks-Burns who is campaigning for better conditions inside the prisons in Georgia. Georgia has some of the most punitive prison conditions in the US resulting in a higher mortality and mental illness rate than almost anywhere else in the country. She talks about the They Have No Voice movement, which represents the families and prisoners campaigning for a humane and less brutal system. She details stories from inside the prisons which may alarm. They also focus on the sentencing and punishments dished out inside the prisons, which seem to be, at best, random. This is part one of a two part interview; From the Facebook GroupDue to the escalating incidents of violence within every prison across the state of Georgia, we pose this question; Who is held accountable as to why?Welcome to Inside Georgia Prisons commentary forum. Our intention is to enlighten and inform you as to the unreliable and reckless policies of the Georgia Department of Corrections. Inside Georgia Prisons invites your comments on, past experiences and involvement in some of these volatile incidents of brutality and neglect where the well being of prisoners and staff alike are at risk.Inside Georgia Prisons is open to families whose son (or daughter) have suffered inhumane treatment at the hands of another prisoner or department of Corrections (DOC) staff. We welcome comments from former and current employees and former inmates who can substantiate claims of unjust and aggressive treatment by the Georgia Department of Corrections administration. Our purpose is to address these subject matters that are imposing additional hardship on every family affected by incarceration within the State of Georgia. Prevalent and related news articles are posted and awaiting your opinion (viewpoint). Though the DOC is a dominant organization within the State, most of the information disseminated from them is one-sided. Inside Georgia Prisons will identify this bias data and provide an honest platform for counter arguments. We understand that society has regarded prisoners as offensive, yet they forever will remain human beings. During their incarceration many prisoners are focused upon self improvement of their past behavioral patterns. As prisoners, they still retain indisputable rights under the U.S. and State Constitution. As State taxpayers, one should ensure policy makers address important issues such as prison violence, prison overcrowding, and prison abuse.Inside Georgia Prisons was created by advocates of those who reside and work behind Georgia prison walls and their families.

Breanne Fahs - Valerie Solanas, the unwitting Icon of Feminism Mar 06, 2025
Show notes Breanne Fahs - Valerie Solanas, the unwitting Icon of Feminism
    Feb 28, 2023
Dr Breanne Fahs joins Ed Opperman to talk about Valerie Solanas, one of the trailblazers of the feminist movement.Too drastic, too crazy, too "out there," too early, too late, too damaged, too much—Valerie Solanas has been dismissed but never forgotten. She has become, unwittingly, a figurehead for women's unexpressed rage, and stands at the center of many worlds. She inhabited Andy Warhol's Factory scene, circulated among feminists and the counter cultural underground, charged men money for conversation, despised "daddy's girls," and outlined a vision for radical gender dystopia. Known for shooting Andy Warhol in 1968 and for writing the polemical diatribe SCUM Manifesto, Solanas is one of the most famous women of her era.

inside RFK Jr.’s Chaotic White House Bid Mar 05, 2025
Show notes Christine L. Kramer - inside RFK Jr.’s Chaotic White House Bid
    May 13, 2024
How serious is RFK's presidential bid? From the chaos of the launch through botched announcements, clarifications and retractions, it would appear to an outsider as not very. If his bid is serious then there are concerns about his standpoints on issues and, judging by his campaign thus far, his competency.Could it be he is actually a device, used and opaquely funded by the right wing, to draw votes away from Biden, therefore solidifying Trumps' figures in the election?Christine Kramer is a investigative reporter who has been on the inside of RFK's campaign. And she has some tales to tell.RFK Jr.,is an American politician, environmental lawyer, anti-vaccine activist, and conspiracy theorist. He is the chairman and founder of Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine advocacy group that is a leading proponent of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation, and an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election. A member of the Kennedy family, he is a son of U.S. attorney general and senator Robert F. Kennedy, and nephew of U.S. president John F. Kennedy and senator Ted Kennedy.Kennedy began his career as an assistant district attorney in New York City. In 1984 and 1986, he joined two nonprofits focused on environmental protection: Riverkeeper and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). His work at Riverkeeper set long-term environmental legal standards. At both organizations, he won legal battles against large corporate polluters. He became an adjunct professor of environmental law at Pace University School of Law in 1986. In 1987, he founded Pace's Environmental Litigation Clinic, where he held the post of supervising attorney and co-director until 2017. He founded the nonprofit environmental group Waterkeeper Alliance in 1999, serving as the president of its board.
